Anya looked at the invitation. She had almost forgotten about the annual winter ball. School had been eating much of her brain lately and not in the zombie eating way either.

She marked the date and time in her PDA of doom. Then she sent an email to Steve. The poor guy. It seemed like all of their dates lately had been to formal events. She'd have to do something to make it up to him.

Now that the charity ball business was taken care of, she could get back to studying.

Having received his own invitation, Vincent came to bother his brother momentarily. "Barring any explosives, offensive capabilities, force-fields, propulsion systems, power sources, etc etc... would a few transforming robot toys be an acceptable donation?" He gestured to the invite card.

"Also, I'll be going out with Andrea to get her a new dress. Is there anything I should pick up?"

Kristoff frowns slightly. "I really think it should be something the parents can understand. And I am not sure how you would be making an electronic transforming toy without a problematic power source or a need for more batteries than it would be best to assume the families in question can afford regularly."

"I wasn't planning on anything outlandish. I merely thought that making something by hand would be more thoughtful than a store-bought item. Completely manual hand-driven transformations, and nothing larger than my own head." He pauses, giving Kristoff a warning look, as he becomes aware of his choice of words there.

"Thoughtful, certainty, but considering the nature of the program, I think the regulations of the charity in question are far more comfortable with teh sort of thing that comes in a box. And I believe I have heard they are quite picky about anything that could be mistaken for toy weapons. Pickier than Cassandra, even." Kristoff hopes that point is made.

"Good." Vincent smiles. "Perhaps you can come up with a topic for the first of my resumed lessons that I can apply to its construction." He pulls a piece of paper from his pocket and hands it over. "The openings in my schedule. Mistress Jennifer had no complaints about scaling back our lesson plan, and wished me luck in resuming my technical education."

He furrows his brow. "She made some implication about my next lesson 'coming to me on it's own'."

Now see, if it had been addressed to Prince Dork, he would've known Anya had a hand in it. He would be expected, it would look good to both the family and the royal fronts, and Misha was all about supporting the family.

He sent his acceptance and wondered if Mom put a new tux in his closet. Would he need a date?

Chris smiled as she looked over the invite. It should be fun. She owed her dad a dance at least, and it'd be nice to have some of the A- and X-brats mingle. She tucked the invite away in a safe place and started going over some of her fabric squares, picking out patterns to make some stuffed animals from.

Formal? This should be interesting....

Molly had received her own invitation. Or rather, received one with rest of the X-Men invites. Looking over it, she scowled to herself. She'd never gone to a formal charity ball before....she had no idea what to wear.

Noticing Chris, Molly peaked her head into the room.

"Whatcha up to?"

She gets up and walks over to her closet, opening it and glancing between Molly and some things hanging there.

She looks at the dress, her jaw nearly dropping.

"You made this? Wow. It's really pretty."

She takes it from her, slipping into a nearby closet before coming out, clad in the pink dress.

"Well...?"

Chris shrugs as she hands the dress over. "I prefer stuff a little upbeat, but I needed to practice my more 'mainstream' stuff. Fancy dinner and all, need to keep it standard." She smiles. "Not that it's a bad job."

She raises a hand to her chin thoughtfully as Molly comes back out. "Hm.... yeah, pink's definitely your color. I'll need to adjust it here and there though. Hold still." She grabs a tape measure and goes about checking Molly's measurements.

"I'd just as soon show up in a tux than a dress, but it's a big deal for Anya's dad, so... no making waves."

"Hmm..." she lets Chris attack her with the tape measure, "Maybe you could make a dress that looks like a tux? I don't know...I've never really been into fashion all that much." That would be Karolina's gig.

Chris cringes dramatically as she measures Molly's bust. The dress was a fairly good fit for her already, just would need a little bit of a fix. "Ewww... he's all hairy though. I like my guys a little more sleek."

She tilts her head, pausing. "Well... mostly. I had this huge crush on Mister Wagner when I moved in here, and he's actually furry all over, so I can't judge on Mister Logan. He smokes like a chimney though."

"It's that time of the year again..." she says, opening the invitation. Her family got an invite every year. This year, her parents said that she could come with them, as they'd agreed that she was old enough.

Eliza looked it over. Then glanced at what she had for clothing. Should she bring a date too?

Choices. She flops on her bed and stares at the ceiling. She didn't know what to do. She was going, sure. She also wanted to make sure her family would see she was happy and that meant trying to get a date so she could have some fun.

Eliza sighs and throws a pillow over her face. She really doesn't like trying to constantly prove she's happy to everyone and it's driving her up a wall.

She gets an idea and blindly searches for her phone. Maybe Anya would be up for some bonding before or after the event.

Sammy was aware of her invitation when Mom called to ask her to get the toys, new and unwrapped as the organization requested, for the charity ball. She just hadn't opened it yet.

Not being in the party mood this year, she made a real effort to pretend in hopes that she could pretend enough and make it true. She'd find a new dress, find some of her favorite toys and books at the store, and be ready to attend with her parents.

Lyta mailed in the acceptance to her own invitation. She had no problem with formal events, as she'd been going to them with her father since she was very young.

Her only dilemma? Finding a dress to cover her wings.

Charlie sent out his r.s.v.p. He tolerated formal events, for the most part. He was grateful that he already the tux and shoes ready from the last one that he'd attended.
