I Could Have Danced All Night
The grand ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel on 57 East 57th street was festively decorated for the holidays. A series of lit candles on every table gave off warm light and the dulcet tones of a jazz ensemble filled the room.

People, the upper elite of New York society, Hollywood celebrities, musicians, politicians and New York’s own superheroes moved around the room. People sat at tables and talked, while some moved gracefully around the large dance floor.

Tables loaded with unwrapped and unopened toys lined one wall and at one end stood a very large decorated Christmas tree. Wrapped presents sat under the tree, but they were just empty boxes wrapped for decoration. Mistletoe hung from the ceiling near the tree and people stopped to kiss.

The air was light and the mood happy and festive.

	Iason, on the other hand, does not blend or do stealth well, socially or otherwise. He just stands out, like a lot of the Eternals. "Of course. I enjoy your company. And I certainly don't mind you asking me out now and then too." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

She only blends in a little right now. It becomes difficult to blend in when you're next to someone as eye catching as Iason. It doesn't help that her hair is a very eye catching shade of red and her dress is quite fetching.

Eliza smiles up at him. "I'm glad you don't mind me asking you out. Some people are very silly and think it's the men who should be asking out the women."

	"Yes, some cultures are very patriarchal that way, now and historically. Of course, some cultures are the other way around, and then there's some where the parents arrange dates for their children once a connection is made. Personally, I'm just happy to be with you." 	Eliza shakes her head. "I love my parents but I wouldn't want them to arrange my dates. But I guess we do the same thing when kids are young. This... takes some careful doing. He thought she'd known, certainly he'd told Anya and the Avengers. "Yes...err, not exactly." For once a subject he's hesitant on.
"My mother isn't an Eternal, she's a being who goes, alternately, by Her, Paragon or Kismet. She believes its her destiny to become the mother to a new, greater race that will help the galaxy reach its full potential, and spends a lot of her time in search of suitable males. Her... uhm, enthusiasm and single mindedness have a way of driving off most people who fit the bill in her mind though. So as of yet, I'm her only child. Which made her a /very/ devoted mother, but also very into the idea that I should be a lot more like her."

He turns to face her fully, taking her hand gently in his. "Eliza, first and foremost, I want to assure you that I'm not like my mother that way. I'm happy being with you and only you, I'm in no hurry to give my mother any grandchildren, and I'd never want to hurt you. But I also want to guarantee you, even if I were, you'd most assuredly make an exceptional choice of women to be with. Being 'merely human' doesn't make you any less extraordinary. Even my mother has had a number of humans on her short list."

Eliza doesn't suddenly blush it just grows very slowly and steadily. "Iason. I don't think you'll hurt me it's not really a part of your nature. I'm glad too because I am suddenly very fond of you."

She smiles up at him. "I'm not in a hurry to have children either. I'm still very young for a human and I'd much rather have fun and... enjoy your company while getting to know you."

In her world Vincent had not joined his brother Kristoff and was not known as Amorason, he has known as a Von Doom. He had tried to take over the world twice to date unless things had changed.

She recalled getting thrown into a car by him in a fight in the streets of New York between him, the F4 of her world, and the Young Avengers before his second attempt on the world. She had to convince herself when she saw him dropping off toys that this world was different. He might be a different person.

	Good thing she's planning on being calm, because Vincent and his date are actually approaching. He raises a hand in greeting to Iason. "Hello again, Iason, was it? Nice to see you again." "A pleasure." Vincent actually remembered her from the video review of the females, but that obviously wasn't up for discussion. He turns his head back to Iason. "Please, Vincent. I hope you two are enjoying yourselves this evening?"

He still couldn't put his finger on why Eliza had been staring at him. She certainly seemed happily attached to Iason, so what was the meaning of that?

Eliza glances around then decides just to get on with it. Obviously Vincent knows she had been staring so she'll just apologize since he wasn't the Von Doom who she would never trust.

He was someone else. Who just happened to look like him on a different version of Earth. Yeah this wasn't complicated at all. "Vincent. I'd like to apologize for staring at you. You just reminded me of someone I knew from back home."

She smiles genuinely at them both. "My reaction was just unexpected. I hope you weren't uncomfortable."
