It was very obvious that Lucius was working later and later and more hours a week than he normally had. Evan understood that Lucius had an important job and that he was also checking in on Merlin a bit and taking him groceries. Evan was thankful for this, of course, but he missed his husband. He was spending all his time alone in a flat because Rowan had decided he'd be staying with his mother. And Evan didn't have children of his own.

He was sitting alone and sulking to himself, reading a magazine he wasn't actually interested in when Luciius came in. Evan was unsure if he should even try to touch him. The last few times he'd tried to be intimate, the other man had told him he was tired and immediately went to bed. Evan ran his eyes over him, then looked back down at his magazine, feeling like bursting.

Lucius blinked at Evan in surprise. He hadn't expected this from him. Of course, he hadn't really taken the time to think about what he was doing at any point during this affair with Merlin. "You're not unattractive, Evan. You're gorgeous."

He touched his hand, shaking his head. "You haven't done anything." Lucius loved Evan, even if he had been sleeping with his nephew for the past few weeks. "Balancing work and taking care of Merlin. Making sure he's all set up in his flat and he and Draco aren't killing each other. It's just eaten up a lot of my attention. It's not your fault. It's mine."

	Evan was not stupid. Lucius had not answered his question. And suddenly, he was sick to his stomach. He felt like throwing up. Lucius had cheated on him again. Again. 	Lucius didn't want to answer. He stared at Evan for a long moment, feeling worse than he'd thought possible. Why had he ever thought this was a good idea? He closed his eyes for a moment. He was going to lose this. He was going to lose Evan and he'd deserve it. "Merlin," he admitted. "He needed someone to talk to and it just... it happened." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"I'm not happier with him," Lucius said, shaking his head. "I don't -- There's no one else, Evan. There never had been. Not really. Only you. Always you. I'm such an idiot." 	"It's not my place to tell Draco." Evan told Lucius quietly, shaking his head. "I don't want to be the one who breaks his heart. I love him." He pushed himself up from the floor and started to pack some of his things. "This isn't my home. This is yours. You stay." (Reply to this)(Parent)
