Application Post
So, you want to apply to [info]marvel_nextgen? Great!

A few things first.

Alternate Universe and Time displaced kids are welcome. As are totally original characters. Not every mutant or Avenger is going to have parents that were mutants or Avengers. So feel free to use your imagination!

While we gladly accept applications for X-Men and Avengers, we encourage applications for Eternals, Defenders, Inhumans, Asgardians, and other characters off the beaten path.

We also welcome Canon kids. IE Franklin Richards, Luna Maximoff and older versions of any super kid. Like say, Power Pack, Valeria Richards, Kevin Masterson, Ahura Boltagon and the like. Also adult versions of any Canon Teenagers are welcome. As are canon characters and villains in their adult incarnations. (Ie: Julian Keller, Kate Bishop, Tommy Shepherd, Billy Kaplan, Nico Minoru...)

We're taking advantage of the wonderful sliding timeline policy of Marvel, so if your character's birth date/age doesn't quite work out, it can easily be modified.

Please give us at least 24 hours to look at your application. We will email you when the app is approved. Once it's accepted, you can jump right in. If we have any problems or questions with any applications we'll contact you for clarification.

In some situations a sample with another player may be required.

The game focuses on the next generation of heroes and the kids are the ones out being the superheroes. The adults for the most part are starting to retire and passing the torch to the kids, so if you are looking to play an adult, be advised that in this game they are mostly support roles and plot devices.

The process:
The first step is to fill out an application.(Please check with the team admin to see if there is room on the team you want to join)
Your application will be reviewed by the mods.
In the case that you are applying for a character on a team, the application will be reviewed by the team members.
If your character is related to another character in the game, the relatives will also get to review the app.
A mod will notify you if it has been accepted, declined or if more information is needed.
The mods may ask you to clarify certain things (concept, powers, purpose) in your app. This is nothing personal, it is just the mods and team members trying to better understand the app.

Some basic rules:

1. If you are apping a sibling/parent of a character in the game, the player(s) of those characters get approval/veto rights on the app. We require you to discuss the character idea with the other players before apping the character you want to play. If you don't know who is playing a certain character please ask a mod. The list of characters and their relatives is here

2. If you are apping a cousin or other distant relative to a character/characters already in game, the player(s) of the character gets to review the app and provide feedback.

If you can't contact a player, feel free to contact the mods and we'll answer any questions you have!

3. Please do not give names, gender or ages to siblings of canon-pairing characters. This is to allow greater flexibility for people interested in picking up a sibling or parent. A vague reference like "Character X has three other siblings." is fine.

It is okay to give names, gender and ages to siblings of characters who have non-canon parents.

4. Apping Characters just to "hook up with someone" - Please do it somewhere else. This is a game for people who are interested in more than just hooking their character up with another character. While it is natural for characters to start dating and otherwise participate in physical relationships, it should not be the main purpose of the character and it is not the main focus of the game.

We accept applications for heroes, villains, parents and other adults.

We will accept applications for Original NPCs (Next generation of - Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Masters of Evil, Serpent Societly, MLF, etc) seen here.

Notes:
Xavier's is not publicly known as a place for mutants. There is an underground in place to direct mutants to Xavier's.

Avengers are listed in the phone book and publicly known. Characters can directly contact them.

Character LJ (if applicable):
Physical description (face, build, weight): Carolyn as red hair and blue eyes. She is 5' 8" and 130lbs.

Age: 25
Birthday: January 14
PB: (If using one.) Christina Hendricks
Abilities: A criminal and tactical genius and mastermind, Carolyn has contacts everywhere in New York City on both sides of the law. She is incredible patient and will wait for the perfect moment before executing a plan. She already as an army of people working for her that she uses to get things done.

Weaknesses and flaws: Normal Human

Character location/Home: New York City
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Villain
Relatives (living/dead?): Wilson Fisk- Grandfather, Vanessa Fisk- Grandmother, Richard Fisk- Father, Rebecca Fisk- Mother

Backstory:
Carolyn Fisk is the daughter of Richard Fisk, the Rose. She was kept secret from her grandparents, especially after the death of her father. She possesses the family genius, and certainly knows her legacy, even if the aging and fragile (for him) Wilson Fisk would never acknowledge her after Richard's attempts to destroy him. As such, she resents her grandfather for destroying her father and her life, making her live a life in hiding, but also her father for denying her the rich legacy that should have been hers. As such, she intends to make amends by taking what's rightfully hers: the Kingpin's empire.

She's spent the last few years following a particular treasure hunt, but has finally found what she was looking for: Phineas Mason's journals, hidden away by his son, Rick Mason, on Phineas' death. She eventually found this tie, and was able to meet Rick's cost, starting with keeping his father's identity and criminal past a secret. She has since hired her own crew of crack inventors and engineers to duplicate some of the work, and has managed to recreate most of Spider Man's rogues gallery using the Tinkerer's notes.

She's maded a small profit by selling some of the gear to the highest bidder while using her father's notes and work to make it appear the thugs are being supplied and hired by the Kingpin, who these days is far more conservative, no longer in great shape to battle heroes, rival crime bosses and the law. She intended to get some of the street level heroes breathing down his neck again to try and force his hand, hoping he'll act to push his rivals, suspecting one of them.

She started her plan and is in the final phase of the operation that will give he complete control of the New York Underworld.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Already in the game working on her take over
What are you planning to do with this character? After taking over as the new Kingpin of New York she will continue trying to gain more power and maintain control of her city.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: Power struggles and be an issue for the heroes of new york city

Player: Kate
Character Name: Beatrice Dayspring
Character LJ (if applicable): charmedlife
Physical description (face, build, weight): 5'7, 142 lbs., athletic, white streaks in hair.
Age: 21
Birthday: Dec. 28
PB: Rachel Echelberger
Abilities: Personal awareness field extending /usually/ in a 100-meter radius of her body. It picks up on, analyzes, and puts together information on a subconscious level, thus immediately knowing/understanding all kinds of things both about a combat situation and about broader issues.

Weaknesses and flaws: The analysis is subconscious and must be based on clues available within her admittedly wide personal space. The field can occasionally fluctuate in size, and the information can be annoying. She's otherwise just a very athletic woman who's a good shot.

Character location/Home: Berthyoneaux/SSI
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Mercenary
Relatives (living/dead?): Cable (father, living) Hope (foster sister, living), Domino (mother, living), Rachels (aunts, living) Cyclops (grandfather, living). Andrew Summers (cousin-once-removed, living)

Backstory: Beatrice Dayspring was raised jointly by her parents during those times they shared a zip code over the past couple of decades. The rest of the time, her mother kept her the majority of the time, although she also had plenty of visits with her father. She loves him and respects what he's trying to do right now, but thinking and committing on that broad a scale isn't for her at this point in her life. She's got a professional with a real, grownup job that she takes pride in like her mother always showed her.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Sent to America during the Thrones plot.
What are you planning to do with this character? Mercenary things.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: See where things go.

Name: Akantha (She has had many over the centuries.) Currently using Alexandra Thorne
Age: 2440 (Born in 420 BC)
Nationality: Greek
PB Katie McGrath
Powers: Immortal, healing factor
Skils: Martial arts (Capoeira, Savate, Jujutsu, Aikido, Hapkido, Kendo, Kempo karate, and Judo), Lockpicking, gymnastics, proficient with knives and swords, fencing, thief skilled in stealth, picking locks, escapeology, evading alarms and cracking safes.

Character location/Home: Chicago at the moment
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Antiques dealer/thief
Relatives (living/dead?): All a long time dead

History:
Akantha was born in Ephesus (in modern day Turkey) in 420 BCE to poor parents. Akantha spent a lot of time on the streets and learning how to steal food to survive. She caught the attention of a priestess of Artemis one day and the priestess talked to her parents. She offered to take the child to the temple to train to be a priestess of Artemis.

Akantha started out as a servant in the temple and spent years training to be a priestess. She was almost ordained a full priestess when a young man caught her eye. Deciding that service to Artemis was not as important as the young man, she stole a large pearl that had been sitting in the palm of Artemis’ statue in the temple along with some gold and ran away.

The young man and Akantha ran away to Athens together, but soon another woman caught his eye and he left her. Spurned, bitter and on alone, Akantha didn’t know what to do. Little by little she sold off the gold she had stolen from the temple, but she couldn’t bring herself to sell the pearl. Time passed and she eventually married a well off gentleman and settled down. Decades passed and Akantha didn’t age. She was happy about her good fortune and when her husband died, she inherited his estate since they had no children.

She would eventually marry again and as before she inherited her husband’s wealth when he passed and they had no children. She did this a few times before she became disillusioned with not aging and being made to watch people she cared about grow old and die.

Akantha went to the Oracle at Delphi to see what she could do to start aging again. The oracle told her she had to return the moon (meaning the pearl) to the goddess she stole it from. With the temple of Artemis destroyed, Akantha was cursed to never age.

She gave up on forming serious relationships and turned to a life of wandering. She learned how to protect herself by studying armed combat and fighting skills. She would learn from whomever she could get to teach her.

She spent the next century and a half wandering the world and visiting all different cultures. From Great Britain, to Egypt, to China, Akantha went from one end of the world to the other. She learned all different styles of fighting and languages as she went. She developed excellent thieving skills at this time and couldn’t resist the challenge of stealing small items off of people and from their houses.

Eventually Akantha made her way to Rome where she married a senator. She stayed there until he died and then moved to a small town in the countryside. She purchased a villa and some land and would use this as a base through the years. Underground rooms would be created and in these rooms Akantha would store the various baubles and items she liberated from others.

After a few decades she returned to Rome and once again married a rich senator. She would repeat this a few times through the two centuries until the time of Augustus. Once Augustus died, Akantha left Rome and would not return until the 1500s.

Once again she took to traveling the world. She made her way to the most remote corners and learning whatever she could from all the different peoples.
She settled in the Frankish kingdom during the time of Charlemagne. She would spend the next century there, moving from town to town every few decades and occasionally marrying a nobleman and taking his wealth at his death. She kept up her thieving skills and fighting skills in secret and continued to liberate items from various rich noble families.

She went west to England during the Norman invasion and settled in London. London was growing and allowed her to move to different sections every few decades instead of having to move to a different city or town.

Wanderlust would hit her around the year 1200 and she once again set off to explore the world and see how much had changed in the centuries since her last visit. She wandered through the Middle East and on through to Asia.
She returned to Europe in the 1400s and stayed in France for a hundred years. She moved back to England around 1500 and became a part of Henry VIII’s court. She retreated to a country house for a few decades and came back to court during the latter half of Elizabeth’s reign.

Akantha settled in Jamestown with the first group of settlers. After a few decades she moved north to Philadephia. By the time the Revolutionary War broke out she was living in Boston. Not wanting to get involved in the war, Akantha sailed back to Europe and settled in Greece, returning for the first time since her departure around two thousand years ago.

She would stay in Greece for a number of decades before she returned to the United States in the mid-1800s. Since then she has divided her time between San Francisco, New York City and Chicago.

Akantha takes on a new identity every twenty years or so and moves to a new city.

She currently lives in Chicago and runs an antique store named "Curious Goods". She specializes in rare and unique items. She still steals various items on the side as a hobby to keep life interesting. A run in with a vampire very early in her life led to an interest with the occult and the supernatural. Since then she has studied the occult and folklore in every area she has traveled or lived in.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Have one of the midnight sons characters visit her store.
What are you planning to do with this character? Support type for the Midnight Sons when they need occult help.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: She’s a support type, so no real major development. Just to have fun with her.

Character Name: “Rocket” Red Panda
Character LJ (if applicable): needsmoredakka
Physical description (face, build, weight): Red is an anthropomorphic red panda, standing approximately three and a half feet tall (four feet long total with tail).
Age: 2 (equivalent to his late teens)
Birthday: Equivalent to June 14
PB: N/A
Abilities: Red possesses an enhanced sense of smell and hearing. He possesses an almost innate talent for understanding weapons and technology. If it shoots or goes boom, he can figure it out. He also makes use of a rocket-powered hoverboard. He’s quite good at climbing and getting into small spaces, as well as holding guns significantly bigger than he is. Red will have a teleport system set up with the Guardians ship enabling him to change out guns as necessary.
Weaknesses and flaws: Red is small and relatively vulnerable compared to the other Guardians. He is extremely impulsive.
Character location/Home: Halfworld, Space
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero
Relatives (living/dead?): N/A

Backstory: Red is a native of the planet Halfworld, whose genetically altered animal inhabitants serve as the caretakers for the patients there. Red’s life was fairly normal, in as much as the word can be applied there, and he eventually entered training to become a protector for the colony. He showed an especial proficiency with weapons (although he also blew himself up a few times).

Seeing that his… enthusiasm was a bit much for their little world, the planetary council arranged to have him shipped off planet, ostensibly for “training” but really to get him off the planet before he accidentally blew them all up tinkering with bombs or something of the like.

Red is not a bad person, by any stretch of the imagination. He’s just overly friendly, extremely enthusiastic, and perhaps has just a bit of an ego as well. A great guy, but one most people can only handle in extremely small does.

From there, he’s bounced from place to place, settling down just long enough to hook up with the new generation of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: However the Guardians of the Galaxy form.
What are you planning to do with this character?: Space stuff.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: Rocket Red Panda is definitely more a supportive, not-quite comedy relief type. I liken him to the absolute over the top enthusiasm of the new Rocket Red in JL: Generation Lost.

Character Name: Alex Quill
Character LJ (if applicable): spacepalm
Physical description (face, build, weight): Following in his parents' footsteps, Alex has kept up an active lifestyle from a young age, undergoing extensive firearms and unarmed combat training, leading to a military physique. Dark hair, reasonably tall at 6'2", and of even complexion. His screen takes on a greenish hue when he enters his prophetic trances.
Age: 19
Birthday: March 14
PB: Rick Malambri

Powers:
Mentat (mid-level) - Alex has an accelerated cognitive ability, allowing him to calculate battle plans more efficiently, and retain information with, while not flawless, very strong recall.
Telepathy - Alex has strong communicative abilities with his telepathy, but cannot conduct mental probes or control others. This power is most often used to bridge language barriers the Guardians' universal translators are not yet equipped for, and to aid in communication with the rest of his team.
Telekinesis - Limited to small weights, and when under stress, extremely close range. Alex is proficient in using this ability to reload his weapons without the use of his hands, but can only use it on heavier, or more remote, objects when focused.
Precognition - At random times, Alex enters a trancelike state, voicing sometimes simple, sometimes cryptic prophetic statements. He has no control over this power, and really wishes he could get rid of it.
Abilities: Alex has been trained extensively in hand to hand combat by both parents, and in a wide variety of ballistic and energy weapons by his father and Rocket Raccoon. He has commando mission and leadership training as well.

Character location/Home: Knowhere Station
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero
Relatives (living/dead?): Peter Quill (father), Mantis - Celestial Madonna (mother), Quoi (half-brother)

Backstory: When not busy saving the universe, Peter Quill developed a romance with his teammate, Mantis. She politely informed him after one date of the time, place, and particulars of their wedding ceremony. Peter humored her, but sure enough, their next mission, right on schedule, ended up fulfilling her prophecy. Mantis went on to clarify that their son would one day be instrumental in carrying on Peter's work. Eight months later, a boy was born.

Alex grew up on Knowhere Station, soaking up every language and bit of cultural knowledge possible, while being trained by his parents. By and large, however, Alex fully recognized the absurdity of most of the situations he had to deal with, displaying a preternatual maturity even as a child. He generally counted himself and his father as the only sane men in the room, when dealing with galactic politics. As he grew older, he gravitated towards combat training and mission tactics more than diplomacy, leaving that to 'the book readers' on Knowhere.

Although Alex considers himself a pragmatist, he clings very tightly to his own code of honor and ideals, and would sacrifice himself without a second thought to save others. He'll simply complain about it the whole way through.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Re-forming the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Character Name: Hajime
Character LJ (if applicable):
Physical description (face, build, weight): 6'2, slender and fit.
Age: 17/711
PB: (If using one.) : Tak Sakaguchi - http://www.hollow-art.com/base/tak-sakaguchi
Powers:
Between the rigorous discipline of the kenku, learning spiritual focus and meditation, and an etreme amount of experience for his apparent age, Hajime possesses a nearly inhuman degree of willpower, and is highly resistant to mind control and other types of influence. Through this same discipline, he is capable of pushing himself to extremes, such as remaining conscious when badly injured, and continuing to act when he should be incapacitated by pain.

Also thanks to the kenku, he knows the speech of corvids. He cannot control ravens and crows, but he can understand them and speak to them, and corvids tend to be very well disposed towards him.
He normally has a raven named Karasu accompanying him that will sometimes act as a scout, extra pair of eyes, etc. for him in exchange for food and shiny baubles, but is not under any kind of compulsion and may wander off at times or get distracted.

Weapons:
Hajime possesses his family katana, one of the legendary Masmune blades.

Skills:
Due to his training with the kenku, Hajime is one of the greatest swordsmen and martial artists on Earth. He technically knows dozens of styles of swordsmanship, and several martial arts forms, but has had them taught to him combined to form one extremely versatile style.
He is also trained in the arts a samurai was expected to be able to perform: he can write haiku, paint, ride a horse, fire a bow, handle a falcon, handle himself with courtly manners, plays two instruments, can tell a story, survive in the wild and mix tea.

Weaknesses:
Anachronism: For all that, in his time, he was a young paragon of the samurai and kensai traditions, there were a lot of things that just weren't around in the early 1300's. Hajime cannot drive a car, use a computer, operate a cel-phone, etc. without instruction, and will have difficulty grasping the uses of modern technology.
He is also behind the times in conventions - in his time and at his station, bathing was communal and usually attended by servants. As such, in "appropriate" surroundings, he has no nudity taboo or the like - which isn't to say that he wouldn't be embarassed to be, for example, caught naked in the living room - its just the embarassment would be because its an improper location and time, not because he's naked.
There are other prohibitions and expectations of behavior, of course - that's just one of the more potentially problematic.
Finally, he is a strict adherent of the code of bushido, an honor code that can be used against him, and may eventually cause problems with the modern government.

Character location/Home: Mobile

Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero

Relatives (living/dead?): None living

2011-01-28 05:17 am UTC (link)
Kazuhiro Hajime was born in the Sagami province of Japan in 1299 to a wealthy family. His father was a powerful land-owner while his mother was a distant cousin of the Empress, affording him a comfortable upbringing. Despite this, he wished, from a young age, to follow in his father's footsteps and serve their daimyo - and dedicated himself heart and soul to the training necessary to not simply be accepted as a samurai, which he would have by birth, but to meet the lofty goals the Emperor set for the ideal samurai.
He proved especially capable in early swordsmanship training, focusing on both iaijutsu and the school of bushido swordsmanship created by his great-great grandfather, passed down through generations as the family school.
When he was thirteen, he went one step further, and took the kensai's vow, using his family's money to begin traveling and learning all he could, vowing to become one of the "sword saints" by the time he reached adulthood. He spent two years at this before a messenger found him, insisting he needed to come home at once. When he did so, he discovered that his father had been killed, supposedly by bandits, but there was unexplainable destruction around the scene.
Fifteen year old Hajime swore he would find his father's killer, and followed the clues and tracks he could. Eventually he managed to find the bandits - and his father's sword - but swore that they were not the killers, even knowing they would be killed either way. They claimed that an oddly dressed Chinaman with strange weapons which made loud noises and fired bolts of light and lightning had appeared and hired them to help him take an item belonging to the daimyo the Kazuhiro clan served. Once he had it, he simply disappeared.
Taking his father's sword, he swore he would not rest until he found his father's killer, or he'd die trying. A voice from someone he could not see then spoke up, aking if he meant it. He repeated the vow, looking around, still seeing no one. After asking the question once more, receiving the same response, a three foot tall, cloaked figure appeared, and told him that he would help the kensai then - but expected total obedience in return.
It took some sorting, but the small being eventually revealed himself as a kenku - they had been watching the young swordmaster for years, and saw in him the potential to learn to become one of the true masters, worthy of their training. Hajime followed the kenku to a remote village high in the mountains. They began his training with little further explanation - he carried water up and down the mountains, he ordered all the rocks in the rock garden, then re-ordered them, he fixed the roof, and did countless exhausting, menial chores. When they trusted his obedience, endurance and discipline, sword training began - and turned out to be just as exacting and exhausting - day and night, awoken at any time to draw his sword 1000 times - each having to be just right, or he started over, before being allowed to sleep again. He learned ancient techniques and new innovations from the masters, losing track of the time very quickly.
At long last, they told him that the person who had killed his father was a time traveler, who had come to take a very powerful artifact from the daimyo - and now he was ready to return to the world of men and find him - and in the meanwhile, he would be one of the heroes Japan needed.

Shortly thereafter, he learned that he had been studying under the masters, aging only very slowly in their magical valley, for over 700 years to master every technique the kenku could pass on - to be released into modern day Tokyo.
It was not long before he was arrested. Thankfully, one of the policemen recognized the style of the sword - one of the "lost" blades of Japan's greatest swordsmen. This drew enough attention that he was finally questioned by someone who seemed to believe him - and after a demonstration of skill, and several retellings of his story, Hajime was freed from custody, and taken instead, though very confused, to help re-found Big Hero 6!

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game? He lives in the Baxter Building, so he'd be able to interact with the Fantastic Four.

What are you planning to do with this character? Independent stuff, and helping the F4 on occasion.

What do you want to see happen with this character? Yet to be seen.

Player (nickname, handle)/ LJ: Paul E.
Email: drdoom83@hotmail.com
AIM (if you have one): same as above
Character Name: Sengai Senyaka, shortened to Senyaka as codename.
Character LJ (if applicable): whoholdsthewhip
Physical description (face, build, weight): 6'3, muscular
Age: 25
Birthday: July 16
PB: (If using one.) Allu Arjun
Abilities: Has powers similar to his father's. He can create energy constructs from the energy he absorbs. Unlike his father, the energy doesn't have to be life energy, but multiple types. With the energy he absorbs he can create weapons, shields, tools, etc. He is also highly trained in the use of a variety of weapons.
Weaknesses and flaws: There are limits to Sengai's abilities to absorb energy and create constructs. If he absorbs too much energy he could fall into a semi-catatonic state in which he recovers. Also the more complex his creations, the more energy he expunges.
Character location/Home: Sri Lanka, iimmigrating to United States.
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero (Anti-hero)
Relatives (living/dead?): Suvik Senyaka (father) Anuja Senyaka (mother)
Backstory: Sengai is the son of often rebellious former Acolyte, Suvik Senyaka and his wife Anuja, a former Kali cultists who considered Suvik an avatar of death. Growing up under his fgather's strict tuelage, Sengai learned his father's style of fighting and way to use his powers. However Suvik realized Sengai's powers were too different from his own and that he could teach him no longer. So to settle his debts with his old lord, Magneto, and to aid his son, he had him travel abroad to learn from people better equipped to teach him. Sengai, being a man of duty, obeyed his father request. He'd travel to the U.S. to rendezvous with agents of his new master, Magento.
How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: He'll make contact with Genoshan representatives in the U.S. as to what he must do.
What are you planning to do with this character? He'll intially serve the Genoshan government, but may over time become dissatisfied and perhaps defect to Xavier's camp. While he considers himself more realistic than the X-Men, he has a more moral code of ethics than his father.
What do you want to see happen with this character?:
Eventually become a member X-Force as he'd find the group more to his liking than the X-Men themselves.

AIM (if you have one): on-file
Character Name: Sophia Lehnsherr (an alias, real name unknown)/Magneta
Character LJ (if applicable): fatalattraction
Physical description (face, build, weight): A tall, silver-haired woman with imperial features
Age: 25
Birthday: September 28
PB: Mosh
Abilities: ability to manipulate magnetic fields for various effects
Weaknesses and flaws: unable to affect non-ferrous materials directly
Character location/Home: mobile
Alignment (villain, hero etc): villain
Relatives (living/dead?): Zaladane (mother, deceased), father (unknown), Lorna Dane (alleged aunt), Andrew Summers (possibly cousin)

Backstory: Little verifiable is known of the women who calls herself Magneta, though she claims to be the daughter of former mutant terrorist Magneto. SHIELD and other peace-keeping organizations, however, believe this to be a false claim, though whether or not she herself is aware of this and simply using it for effect or is operating under false information is unknown. It is most speculated that she is the daughter of Zaladane, conceived during the period when she had stolen Polaris’s magnetic abilities.

That much, is, in fact, accurate. The daughter of Zaladane by a Savage Land native, she was sent outside of the Savage Land to be raised. When Zaladane was killed by Magneto, the girl, named Sophia by the human parents she had been placed in the care of, was forgotten about. She lived an ordinary life, until her mutant powers manifested when she was sixteen, inadvertently killing her boyfriend with whom she was making out by causing a massive disruption of the iron in his blood. Blamed by the small town, she ran away from home, learning to use her powers to survive.

With a family history of mental illness, it didn't take much for her to believe that she had to truthfully be the daughter of Magneto, hidden away lest his enemies find her. With this fabrication in mind, she developed a new identity for herself, dedicating herself to the principals of mutant advancement and conquest, ferreting out what resources she could.

What is known is that she first appeared three years ago, conducting various acts of small-scale mutant terrorism. She was able to evade capture and remains one of the more wanted mutant criminals in the world. It is generally assumed Magneto finds her to be beneath his notice.

In-between this time, she was approached by unknown backers and began to build her X-Tremists.

In the time since her first appearance, she has continued to consolidate her power-base and has amassed a team of followers, along with picking up pieces of cast-off technology, including a teleportation system.

During the X-Tremists' most recent public action, she and they were involved in an attack on Providence and attempted to steal a mutagneic factor, becoming exposed to it themselves. While the effects proved largely temporary on those exposed to it, it was enough for them to gain some of the information they needed.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: she was already introduced during the Providence plot for X-Force.

What are you planning to do with this character?: Acts of mutant terrorism (the X-Tremists return in a future X-Force plot and will likely be recurring antagonists for them)

What do you want to see happen with this character?: An eventual encounter with the Genoshan contingent seems likely. :-) She /is/ a blashphemer, after all.

AIM (if you have one): same as above
Character Name: Zviad Mikhailovich
Character LJ (if applicable): heroic-dynamo
Physical description (face, build, weight): 6'1, lean but well-muscled.
Age: 23
Birthday: October 7
PB: (If using one.)Ben Mansfield
Abilities: Has extensive experience piloting the Federal Dynamo power armor. He has been training in preperation for his promotion to piloting a Crimson Dynamo suit. The suit in question is a prototype intended to be the closest to the Iron Man armor Russia has ever produced. Aside from the basic Dynamo weapons, Zviad is also a skilled fighter, trained in Russian sambo. He is a student of military strategy and is a capable tacticitan, though he prefers to take orders rather than give them.
Weaknesses and flaws: Despite his experience in using the Dynamo power-armor he is not a scientist or technician and depends on others to repair it. he often gets lost when the specifics are explained to him. He is steadily studying how the armor works, but it's a work in progress. Has zero tolerance for wordplay and behind-the-scenes machinations and has called people on their double talk more than once. This has cost him promotions to Crimson several times. Only his undeniable talent with the suit and patriotism have preserved his job.
Character location/Home: Russia
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero
Relatives (living/dead?): Sergei Mikhailovich (father, alive) Medea Mikhailovich(Tsiskaridze) (mother, alive)

Backstory:
The son of a Russian colonel and Georgian mother, Zviad has considered himself a proud citizen of the Russian Federation before any ethnic label. He has longed to see Russia return to a place of prominence in the world, but without the communism and totaltarianism, which he feels ruined Russia's chance for true respect in the world. However despite his pride in his country, he has long been an admirer of America's hero, Iron Man and longed to be an armored soldier of his own country. So after service in the Russian military, he joined the Dynamo program. However his love for piloting the suit did not include love for the political machinations of his superiors which he had a habit of calling them on. This attitude kept him from being promoted to Crimson. However it's gotten to the point Zviad's skill can't be denied despite his political beliefs, or lack thereof, and promotion appears inevitable.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Because of his uncooperativeness to play politics, Zviad will intially be assigned to the American branch of the Romanovs as a bodyguard/attache.

What are you planning to do with this character? He'll eventually be assigned with the rest of the Winter Guard to bring back Ivan Petrovich from Canada. However after hearing the whole story from Alpha Flight, he'll have a final roe with his superiors who strip him of his position in the Guard and imply he wouldn't be welcomed home.

What do you want to see happen with this character?:
After the business with Petrovich is over, I'm hoping Zviad might find a place as a reserve member of Alpha Flight. Reserve because he'd still be dedicated to keeping his American charges safe.

Character Name: Rikki Cargill
Character LJ (if applicable): anger_issues
Physical description (face, build, weight): a tall, semi-muscular black woman
Age: 18
Birthday: January 15
PB: (If using one.) Dana Davis
Abilities: density control--from intangible to diamond hard, with an increase in strength and durability as density increases
Weaknesses and flaws: Hair-trigger temper. at higher densities, greater and greater energy is required just to move.
Character location/Home: Genosha, Genoshan embassy
Alignment (villain, hero etc): not a villain
Relatives (living/dead?): Joanna Cargill (mother)

Backstory: Born to the Acolyte Frenzy and a Genoshan native, Rikki was born and raised on Genosha. She fell easily into lockstep with her mother's fanatical devotion to Magneto and the Genoshan cause. Taller than most of the other kids her age and aggressive even then, she gained a reputation as something of a bully, until one day, Gio brought her down to size. They were five. And the two were friends ever since. It would not be the last time Rikki's aggressive attitude and anger got her into trouble.

Rikki's powers first manifested when she was thirteen, a temper induced stomp transforming into a high-density ground-cracking stomp. Once the exact nature of her abilities were determined, she was schooled in controlling them. She rarely finds reason to use her intangibility, considering it to be a "weak" power compared to being able to increase her density. Her mother has done little to discourage this attitude, always riding Rikki that she had to be strong to survive, that only the strong had power.

Fanatically loyal to Magneto, but with a strong bullying and competitive streak, not too many people can handle being around Rikki for long stretches. While she's is not exactly a "bad" person, she is certainly closed minded. Her newest assignment to the Genoshan consulate is hoped to broaden her perspective.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: She will be joining the other Genoshans in NYC.
What are you planning to do with this character?: Give myself a chance to play against type, explore the other side of the x-equation, get involved in Genoshan/mutant stuff, kick ass, get her ass kicked, and generally flex my writing muscles some here.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: No specific plans, though she will definitely be continually revising her opinions of Andrew, and possibly humanity in general.
