Pyxis had felt lonely since she and Luka had broken up. It wasn't long after they'd both been in training that they decided the distance and time apart was too much for them. Not that they'd ended on bad terms or anything like that. They still loved each other. They just weren't right for each other at that time.

But now, she was lonely. And alone. She'd graduated from her training a week before and now she was at a pub in Diagon Alley, drinking away her boredom. Which didn't seem to be working so well. She ran a hand through her hair, looking down at her pint.

	"Yeah. I'm fine." Pyxis told Walden and looked him over. "Except I realised today that the only friend I have is Rider and he's tied down with taking care of twins and his pregnant wife." She shrugged. "Other than that, I'm alone. I need a cat or something." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"We can be friends," Walden told Pyxis. "I know I made it so things... didn't end well between us, but I'd like it if we could come up with a way to be in each other's lives again." 	Pyxis laughed at that and looked Walden over. "You have a cat? That is so cute. What's it's name?" She rested her chin in her hand, leaning against the bar. She looked him over. "Valentine," Walden said, smiling at her. "She's got a little heart-shaped spot on her nose. I got her because my flat felt sort of lonely. Radley comes around a lot, but it's not really the same as sharing with someone, you know?"

He hesitated for a moment when she mentioned kissing him, then gave her a soft smile. "I'm thinking about kissing you too," he confessed. "Do you see Thoreau ever?"

	Pyxis knew it all too well. She nodded and smiled at him. "I know those feels." She informed him, then took another drink from her pint. She was trying not to think about things too much. 	Walden smiled at Pyxis. "I thought you probably did. Anyway, getting Valentine helped. People do tend to assume that having a cat means you're lonely, but it's not so bad." He licked his lips self-consciously. Walden sort of felt like Pyxis was staring at his mouth and he wasn't sure how he felt about it. "He's your friend. I'm sure it wouldn't be a bother." 	Walden was going to say something about Thoreau, but then Pyxis was kissing him and... well... she'd kissed him. He blinked at her for a moment, then shook his head. "No," he said. "Don't be. I..." 	It felt really good to have him kissing her again. His lips felt good against hers. They were still soft, just as they always had been. She'd missed them. Pyxis found herself moving a little closer to him, deepening the kiss for a long moment before she pulled back. "Maybe you should let me see the kittens. So I can pick which one I want." 	Showing Pyxis the kittens meant taking her home, which was... which Walden should definitely do. He smiled at her and nodded, getting to his feet. "I think that's a good plan," he said. 	Pyxis looked at the hand and then found herself smiling. She was going to go home with him and he seemed perfectly okay with that idea. She took his hand and then wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "Good. I want to see your place." Pyxis told him as they walked outside. She looked up at him. "Apparate away." 	Walden apparated them back to his smallish flat. Only smallish because Macnairs needed a certain amount of room to survive. Being extra large meant having extra large furniture, most of the time. 	"We can look at the cats first." Pyxis replied as she took a look around his flat. It looked so nice compared to hers. Her own flat looked comfy and homey. "It's not much," Walden said. He couldn't help feeling pleased with the comment though. He smiled at Pyxis as he led her over to the cats. "I'm glad you like it."

Walden knelt beside the couch, scratching Valentine under the chin. "Here they are. Poor thing, stuck at home with her kids all day. They're a bit young to leave her yet, but in a couple of weeks she'll be dying to get rid of them. What do you think?"

"I think that they're adorable." Pyxis said in a desperate voice, getting on the floor beneath the mother and her kittens. She smiled as one crawled over to her, a black cat with one tuft of white on it's forehead.

"Oh god." Pyxis looked at the kitten and then it pushed it's nose against her face and she was smitten. "I shall have you and I will call you... I don't know yet. But, you will be mine."

Walden laughed, watching Pyxis and the kitten with a fond smile. He wanted to kiss her again. Badly. She looked so adorable, all cuddled up to it like that. "I'll make sure she's yours," he said. "You'll have some time to come up with a good name."

He leaned forward and kissed Pyxis on the forehead, because he didn't want to interfere with her bonding to her kitten. "I knew you'd be a good match for one of them. You look good together."

	Pyxis looked up at Walden and smiled at him. He was... so warm. And gentle. And kind. Things she didn't normally like in people but were so perfect with him. She found herself crawling up into his lap and kissing him softly. "You just look good." She told him. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Walden wasn't sure what to do with himself for a moment, when Pyxis got in his lap. It was probably obvious though. What he should be doing, where his hands should be going.

"I've missed you," he said, voice soft, and then kissed her again, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her up against his chest. He closed his eyes, relishing the way it felt to have her in his arms again.

	"I've missed you too." It was true. There were times when she'd thought about him and wondered where he was. What he was doing. And of course, Rider never told her anything. She ran her fingers through his hair and made a soft noise against his lips. "You should show me how much you missed me." She told him quietly. (Reply to this)(Parent)
