Henry, if this has ever actually happened, I forbid you to tell me.

DALEKS DO NOT NEED POWER RINGS!

What's a Dalek?

Mutant aliens in tanks that hate everything non-Dalek and want to destroy it, basically. The Doctor fights them.

I see. A doctor fights? I thought they were sworn to heal people.

He's not a doctor, he's the Doctor. And not a medical one anyway, although at least one of his companions has been.

Haven't I told you about this show before?

What show?

Doctor Who. It's a British TV show my dad and I like.

Oh. Gothca. I've never seen it.

If you're interested and/or bored sometime, I can show it to you.

Sure. I'd like that.

...What do the little red things allow the Daleks to do?

(Reply to this)(Thread)

[info]sonoftheatom
2010-03-03 10:19 pm UTC (link)
It's a really powerful weapon that's powered by rage and charged by the blood of those that the wielder kills.

They can also spew flaming blood on people.

...On a Dalek.
...I can certainly see the problem, yes.

My point exactly.

Definitely an understandable concern.

Couldn't you just use the Heart of the TARDIS and destory them all.

(Reply to this)(Thread)

[info]sonoftheatom
2010-03-04 02:11 am UTC (link)
Yeah, but until you get your hands on the Heart of the TARDIS, you've still got blood-spitting, rage-powered Daleks flying around.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]ryanspector

Sounds like fighting a dozen Red Hulks at the same time.

Red Hulks?

This guy in my universe when he get angery he get big and super-strong with a great healing factor and the angerier he gets the bigger, stronger, and more unreasonable he becomes typically he's not very smart but these red ones are very clever.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]sonoftheatom
2010-03-04 05:14 am UTC (link)
Yeah, then it's a bit like that. Only now imagine them with personal force fields that let them fly through space. Red rings tend to make people crazy with rage, so they're not generally very smart, but they also don't need to be.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]ryanspector
2010-03-04 05:21 am UTC (link)
Ok I think I understand so basicaly superpowerful homicidal maniacs that want to destory every thing neat. Just as long as the cylons and the sith don't join them then you should be fine.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]sonoftheatom
2010-03-04 05:27 am UTC (link)
That about sums it up, yeah. And actually, Cylons and the Sith showing up would be a good thing, because the Daleks don't DO team-ups. They'd fight while everyone else ran.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]ryanspector
2010-03-04 05:31 am UTC (link)
Good point just hope the red rings don't over power there nature like that or things could get really bad.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]sonoftheatom
2010-03-04 05:37 am UTC (link)
I'm just going to hope that Daleks never get access to red rings in the first place.

Noooooo. Cyborg killers never get power rings of any sort.

Ever.

Plus, didn't the Doctor die at least once? Wouldn't he be a Black Lantern?

The regeneration is instantaneous. I can't think of any time there was ever a real point where The Doctor was ever actually a corpse.

I know they're from a tv show.

Additional knowledge of how many episodes of Doctor Who I've watched from behind the couch probably fills in the rest of it.

I was when I was younger. All I'm saying here is that I don't need my childhood nightmares teaming up with my teenage nightmares.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]zoe_torres
2010-03-04 05:45 am UTC (link)
Sometimes it's easier to be scared of nightmares that aren't real than what's lurking outside the front door.

It can be, yeah.

There aren't that many scary things outside my door, just a few dealers and the odd mugger. A dalek would be something different.

I'm Zoe.

Depending on which door we're talking about, I've got the occasional super-villain or the Amazon rainforest at five inches tall. Daleks would be something different, but I'd hope that the Doctor came with them, you know?

I'm Dinadan. Nice to meet you.

Mine just opens to the Triangle. No supervillains, just regular ones. Green Arrow used to patrol the area, but he hasn't been seen around here in years.

[info]sonoftheatom
2010-03-04 07:27 am UTC (link)
...That kind of came out sounding like I was trying to one-up you, didn't it? Sorry.

Regular villains are just as much a part of the problem as supervillains. Supervillains are just flashier.

*shrugs* No worries, it's all a problem. We don't rate superhero help. I'd probably worry more if we did.

[info]sonoftheatom

I'd say you should take that one away from the Dalek, but I don't think a red ring would suit you.
