Party Post! - Sunday Night
"MONTROSE MAGPIES, THE 1982 BRITISH AND IRISH LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!"

Oh, Maggie would never get tired of hearing that. As trying as the past few weeks, months had been, seeing her stadium (her stadium) lit up with fireworks and fans and just---it was amazing, it was the best feeling she'd ever had in the whole entire world. She was a champion! Her team, they were champions! Oh, she loved her team, she really did. As much as they annoyed her all the time, they had definitely suffered through enough embarrassment and humiliation to last a lifetime and it just made them all work so much harder to get to this place.

The celebration party was set for the pitch of Montrose Stadium, a great white, billowing tent was set up almost immediately after the teams had come off the pitch, and after two hours of interviews and awards (Drake won the game M.V.P.! Maggie had jumped onto his back mid-interview), she was now dressed like a a bloody rockstar. She definitely felt like one, and would continue to feel this way all the way until next year's championship.

She felt a hand on her elbow and Maggie twisted, her eyes batting with a great smile, "What a match, huh?"

[OOC:] You can either tag at the party, or comment as if it were a news post! Interactive fun~

Odette was by no means a friendly person in nature, but tonight? Oh, tonight she was everyone's best bloody friend. Hugs, tackles and handshakes were a plenty, and she didn't bat an eyelash to who received what. It didn't matter! None of it really matter, because they had won, they'd finally won and no one could take this unrealistic feeling away from her. A cup win! And her father had been there to witness it all. Merlin, it couldn't have been any better.

She honestly just couldn't believe it. This season, playoffs--- her team! Odette had never been so proud of her teammates. And the best part was she wasn't even drunk! Nope, she was going to remember this entire night. From the moment she elbowed her way in front of the Wasps' seeker to catch the snitch until she went to bed tomorrow night (there was going to be absolutely no sleeping with the high she was on right now). It was beautiful, everything was beautiful. It felt like there were stars in her eyes, her body floating as she walked and her mind had completely detached itself.

"HI!" Odette gushed, throwing her arms around the person that had approached her before looking closely at their face. It was someone she recognized, at least, and that was all she needed to know. It wasn't another reporter that would find her actions inappropriate.

And at least she had managed to part herself from the snitch. For the first good hour after the match concluded, her fingers had refused to unlatch themselves from the tiny gold ball. Maybe she would make it into a necklace. Oh or a headband!

"I'm going to make the snitch into a headband!"

Carys smirked as she chewed the cube of cheese she just popped into her mouth. The party was in full-swing, and while she really wasn't dressed for the occasion, she didn't mind much. She hadn't been in the championship match, so what did it matter?

She was a very graceful loser because of the fact that she didn't really care about winning. It was great, she appreciated every moment that her team was successful, but just being able to play at the highest level of quidditch brought her such great joy that she could go join the Chudley Cannons and be happy.

...okay, maybe not, but that was the idea.

However, her latest prognosis was giving her a bit of a dilemma. The healers were still hesitant to let her back onto a broomstick and while Carys was pretty good at following her trainer's advice, she was getting antsy. Plus, the potions were only helping the constant migraines so much, which was why she'd been wearing sunglasses throughout the match (how had she never noticed that the stadium lights were so bloody bright?) and it was nearly half an hour into the party before she realized she'd still been wearing them.

She saw another hand reaching for a plate and Carys didn't look up as she contemplated, "Swiss or cheddar? I'm not having too much fun with the Gouda. It's not...good-a, ha!" When she looked up to see how cringe worthy her pun was, Carys' grin cracked at the sight of Drake Parkin.

"What's the MVP eating tonight?"

He wasn't going to lie, Adrian had taken the Catapults' early, unceremonious exit from the playoffs pretty poorly. There had been a reason for signing with last year's winners, and not any other random team. This was leaving Braga he was talking about! But once Adrian got over it, he had been able to healthily channel his competitive nature into Maggie and the Magpies' journey to the cup. Adrian could at least revel in the fact that his girlfriend's team, his team of choice for the cup, had won.

It made him feel better inside, even if he recognized how extremely petty it was.

But nevermind that, he had a beautiful girlfriend to congratulate. Adrian had tried to stay away as long as possible, letting Maggie soak up and experience the winning atmosphere herself before approaching her. This night was about her, after all. So once all the interviews, pictures and events had occurred and Adrian finally noticed her alone for more than a minute, he approached her.

"You were extraordinary," Adrian smiled, his other hand reaching for her waist to pull her closer. Wow she looked amazing. He wasn't quite sure what it was, but there was something--- they were going to have amazing sex tonight, he could tell already. "Do you have any words of wisdom to bestow?" he joked.

She had been wondering where her sexy Portuguese man had been all night. Maggie's grin stretched even further across her face and she didn't hesitate in pulling the front of his shirt down so she could get her congratulatory kiss properly.

Maggie heard the camera flashes, and there were so many that she saw them through her eyelids and they looked like the fireworks after Odette had caught the snitch. She felt fireworks when she was with Adrian, when she was kissing Adrian, and Maggie had no qualms at the photographers getting their shots---what problem did she have with people seeing how utterly happy she was with her life right now?

Sigh. Her grip on his shirt didn't loosen as they finally broke apart and Maggie stared adoringly up at Adrian. He'd really been wonderful throughout the playoffs, especially with how stressed out she'd been.

"I think I'd have to recommend good luck sex an hour before each match," she said with a serious nod, but her eyes were bright with excitement and mischief.

Wow, even he had to admit that the combination of their vigor, the cameras, the excitement in the air, and obvious attractiveness of themselves completely heightened that embrace. In fact, Adrian was fairly sure he had never been so turned on by a kiss in his entire life.

Damn, his woman worked fast.

The same stupid smile from before was still playing on Adrian's face as he spoke. "Before?" he asked, taking a moment to make it seem like he was taking what she said as a serious suggestion. Adrian shook his head, and stuck a finger up in the air to help his next point. "I think you mean after each match." Yep, that was definitely what she meant.

Adrian leaned down close to Maggie again, getting a straight shot into her ear. "Wouldn't you agree the locker room would be pretty empty right about now?" he whispered, making sure his words came out extra breathy. Girls love that shit.

Maggie was a real sucker for dirty talk. She was quite good at it herself, but hearing Adrian talk like that, in that tone and with people standing so close by...oh, ohh they had to get out of here, right now. Her hands gripped at the bottom of his shirt as she listened to him, her eyes batting greatly with a teasing smile on her face toward the photographers. They could think what they want, he was her boyfriend, any public displays of affection were totally acceptable.

Her hands finally released their grip on his shirt and Maggie wasted no time in playfully taking his hands and leading the way out of the crowd. Even though she was expertly waving and saying hello to the great big sea of guests and friends at the party, Maggie was on a mission and she was taking the most direct route to the locker room. Ooh, the very empty, off limits locker room. She'd never shagged anyone there despite the rumors.

In a coy manner she asked her favorite security guard to keep everyone out of the corridor leading down to the locker room, and she knew she owed him some box seats for next season's home opener. Maggie knew it was worth it though, as the second they'd burst through the locker room door her lips were locked with Adrian's and they were stumbling and bumping into everything in the darkness. Maggie couldn't possibly understand how they were pressed so close together and still managing to stay upright but she didn't complain as they finally collided with the lockers.

Merlin, his shirt needed to come off, Merlin---he needed to unzip her out of this dress.

Heidi!

Henry may, or may not be, a little drunk. As he took a shot of---something with the Magpies' water and towel boy, he believed that he was leaning closer to the drunk side of his argument. It really wasn't his fault; he was up in a sky box watching the match with his family, friends from the agency, other quidditch players, and they all had been buying him drinks, and offering drinks, and saying, 'Drink with me, Henry!'

So, he did, and now he was at the party wondering if Heidi was going to accept his offer to meet him at the party (if the Magpies had won, which they did!). He'd sent her a pass in the post earlier in the day, which may have been too short of a notice, but he'd been really busy up until the snitch was released. He really hoped she did come because he was really having a hard time not thinking about her, and when he thought about her he smiled, and Henry's cheeks were sore because he hadn't smiled this much in ages.

He was beginning to think she wasn't going to show until he spotted Heidi by the entrance. Henry could barely contain his excitement (which was something, because he never let his emotions get the best of him) and nearly knocked her over.

"You came!" he let out, bending down without a second thought and kissing her cheek. That was friendly enough, right? "They won!"

Heidi hadn't known exactly how formal this was going to be, and whether she was expected to dress in the 'team colours' or anything like that. She'd just so happened to do that, but it hadn't been intentional. When Henry came rushing at her, she thought for a vague and horrifying moment that he was going to tackle her to the ground.

That might've gone poorly, she thought. She was ... glad, though, that he seemed to be happy to see her. She was never sure how to take a new relationship, they were hard enough for her before she'd had to deal with her husband being killed and now they were just awful and daunting. Things with Henry, though ... they didn't have to make it into anything complicated yet.

"Well, I'd feel terrible leaving this ticket to go to waste," she admitted with a small smile.

She did have to work tomorrow, but that was the furthest thing from her mind at the moment. No, right now she was examining the fact that Henry actually looked relaxed and happy. She nodded firmly, reaching out to give his hand a quick squeeze. That was about as much affection on the returning end as she could manage right now, and it looked kind of silly to kiss a bloke's cheek anyway, didn't it?

"They did win -- at least partially because you are an excellent agent for some of them, I'm sure."

"Oh, of course!" Henry let out loudly and sarcastically, his face contorting into an amused smile. It was going to look smashing on his resume, of course, that he'd reformed the trouble-maker Seth Wadcock along with introducing the world to the Canadian beaut Victoria Cadwallader, and had somehow kept them sane enough (while on the Magpies, no less!) to help them, help their team win the cup.

Henry had never experienced this kind of attention, and while it was no where near what the players were receiving, he was already getting owls from different agencies asking if he'd like to jump ship. Things were really looking up for Henry Wadcock. He grinned down at Heidi and offered his arm,

"Do you want to get a drink?" He felt himself get slightly lightheaded as he finally took in her outfit, but he blamed that on the alcohol, "I'm done for the night, I swear!"

Well, at least he wasn't saying that any of this had been because of him. She'd heard the rumors about the Magpies last year, and they certainly seemed to be doing better than they had been. Henry was one of the few factors that had actually changed on that team, after all, so it was only natural to assume he had something to do with their sudden urge to win.

She took his arm with a slight grin and laughed, ducking her head for a moment. "Are you, now? Well, I should have gotten here earlier." Then they'd have been at the same level of intoxication. Alas, not an option right now unless Heidi did some serious heavy drinking.

"I'd love a glass of wine, though." Or a good, strong martini. Heidi rested her hand lightly against his forearm. Hmm, he really was more muscular than his normal attire let on. She approved.

"I was surprised you invited me," she admitted after a moment. After all, they really hadn't been on a proper date, just coffee ... and he hadn't seemed keen to share the fact that he was an agent. She'd been thinking that perhaps he wanted to keep his work and personal life as separate as possible.

"I was too, to be honest," he said, but then looked down at Heidi with a look of concern, "Not that I don't enjoy your company, I don't think I've ever had a coffee break that lasted two hours and ended up with a cold brew..."

Henry cleared his throat and straightened up. He was still very surprised that she'd showed up at all. Wizards really needed some sort of way to communicate quicker and easier than owls or the magical journals. What if he hadn't happened to look by the door at that time? It could have taken him nearly a half an hour more before he'd found her, with this crowd, and what kind of date would that have made him?

"I figured," he started, pulling out a stool for Heidi as they reached the bar, "that if they lost, you could at least have some replica of a backstage pass to show to your new coworkers tomorrow," Henry grinned, sliding up onto a stool as well. He felt oddly comfortable, and while most of that had to do with the many drinks he'd had, he knew that he was relaxed because he didn't feel the need to go and impress Heidi like he so often felt with people,

"...and if they won, it could quite possibly be the best first date ever."

Henry was surprised that he'd invited her? Well, considering he'd been unable to predict whether the Magpies were going to win or lose, she supposed that would make sense. If they'd lost he'd probably be in a much more sour mood than he was right now. He seemed to take his job very seriously, after all.

She nodded again, setting herself on the stool with another smile toward Henry. "Oh, quite possibly." She didn't bring up her first date with her late husband -- he'd been rich and overbearing and they'd ended up with an entire restaurant to themselves for the evening. It had been nice, but also quite lonely.

Actually, that summed up her marriage nicely. Heidi rolled her shoulders, glancing over to Henry. "So, are you going to be moving up in the world now that you've helped this team to victory?" It seemed like a big deal.

Henry waved down the bartender, ordering a water for himself and allowing Heidi to place her own (he really had no idea about wine, or any other drink really as he went out so little--). He listened to her question with his own mind swirling with the same thoughts. Would this change his future? Maybe, it could, it definitely could. Players would trust him more, he supposed. He was definitely one of the strictest agents in the game, but that didn't always mean the best. Now that he had two champions under his belt (it had almost been three, with Holly Troy, a few years back...) and he finally felt like a big time...well, player in this game.

"I don't know, honestly!" he let out, feeling good to not have things planned or thought out. Maybe his brother was right in that sense; it didn't make sense to try and plan out every minute of your life, you're going to be far more disappointed than just allowing yourself to just go along with things, "I can probably score some more interviews, at least."

He didn't think he was very interesting, however, definitely not as interesting as the girl sitting beside him. Henry let out a breath and waved gently toward Heidi, "What about you? Are you excited about the job?"

She ordered a nice, dry white wine before she turned back to Henry again, listening to him speak with a small nod. "You'll probably be able to afford to start being pickier with clients, as well." So he wouldn't have to take on anyone who was a trainwreck unless he was looking for a major challenge. That would be nice, she was sure.

Then he was asking her about things and she laughed softly, rubbing the back of her neck. "I'm really nervous, actually! My brother -- knows the bloke that I'm going to be working for, so I'm hoping that he didn't just hire me so that Daniel wouldn't be cross at him." Not that Brady seemed like the type to do that. "It's just my first really big job since I finished up with my paralegal education." At the time it had just been something vaguely interesting to fill up her days, but she'd found that she quite enjoyed it.

"I'm just concerned I'll adavertently do something really bloody stupid, you know?"

Henry cut off his gulp mid drink as he shook his head, "No--don't worry about that! You're interning, right? They probably won't let you officially touch anything for ages, it's about learning!"

He usually wasn't one to share his embarrassing anecdotes, as they usually involved his brother pushing him into walls or humiliating him in front of women. The thought caused Henry to look up at the crowd to see if Seth was anywhere around, but he was probably pinning his girlfriend up against a wall with how excited he'd been after they'd won. Henry twisted face Heidi more directly and put his hand out,

"One time, it was my first season and I was finally allowed to have my own clients..." Henry laughed, recalling the fact that the player-who-shall-not-be-named still glared at him at events they both went to, "I missed the clause that stated he would have to speak at yearly, week-long seminars pertaining to the abuse of pumpkin pasties..."

Henry grimaced exaggeratedly and then laughed at his own stupidity. When was the last time he'd laughed at himself? Henry rubbed the back of his neck, hoping she didn't think he was too much of an idiot for that. He'd been young, "Maybe I'll have to utilize your law offices for future contracts."

"Oh no, I meant something like having a complete nervous breakdown and doing something psychotic." Not that she was going to admit to him that she'd done something like that before. He'd probably just think she was making a funny joke, right?

...right? Heidi couldn't help the laughter that spilled out when Henry told her his story about the first time he was allowed to have his own clients, though. How sweet was it that he was trying to make her feel less nervous about things by telling her embarrassing stories about him?

"I'm sure that you just skipped over it in your haste and excitement," she managed after a moment, taking a sip of her drink and then flashing him a quick smile. "Besides, that doesn't seem like the worst tradeoff in the world. He could have had to act as the spokeswizard for the WWN or something." Heidi nodded hastily when he spoke of the law offices. "Oh, I'm sure that Brady would love that! I mean, the offices can always use more publicity."

Victoria :*

Holy Merlins' balls she was extraordinarily drunk for someone who had virtually no part into the reason behind this party. Not that Mira even realized it. She was fine! Completely fine! Chipper as a bird! A magpie even! It didn't feel like a drop of alcohol was in her body, despite the growing pile of empty cups left behind in her wake.

But how was that her fault? It had started off as a way to ease her anxiety in the box before the match started (not only was Seth entire family sitting around her, but Mira uncharacteristically really wanted the Magpies to win), then continuously drank more and more to point where she was now, having no spatial, social or moral boundaries.

Seth was... around here somewhere. Mira had gotten tired of repeatedly looking for him every time he was pulled away for this or for that. So he was just going to have to find her from now on. Besides, it wasn't like---

VICTORIA! Spotting the other girl with her glazed over eyes, Mira wasted no time skipping over toward blonde. They had become relatively friendly over the past few weeks, and Mira had wanted to get to know the girl better, but found little time to do it. What better time than now!

Flopping next to Victoria on a couch off toward the side of the tent, she let out a dramatic sigh before speaking. "Henry got me drunk," she pouted, her shoulders bumping into Victoria's as she swayed in her seat.

Victoria, on the other hand, had every reason to be as drunk as she was. It wasn't often that she felt like she could let loose like this any more, with the talks that Henry had been giving her about the media and keeping her nose clean, but -- well, he was drunk too, and he was off somewhere flirting with a cute brunette girl, so maybe she could sneak in some fun while he wasn't looking.

She frowned. Vinny had gone somewhere to get drinks, and she was all alone until Mira had the fortune of stumbling upon her. She flashed the other girl a sunny grin and then laughed when Mira bumped their shoulders together, leaning in against her a little. "That bastard!" She declared, shaking her head. Mira had made a good effort of trying to make friends with her even though she got the impression that Maggie probably didn't want her to be friends with Mira. That gained her major points right there.

She was hot, too, so there was that. "You should definitely do something to get back at him for that." Not that Victoria had any idea what she really meant by that, her head was swimming...

"But how!" Mira's voice cracked as she spoke, her hands haphazardly flying into the air. "He's already drunk!" Revenge-- that was a bit much for a fellow Slytherin. Revenge was really just used for everyone else besides housemates. And it wasn't like she totally objected the entire time. Actually, from what she remembered she wanted to keep them coming. Sooo to sum up..... alcohol was to blame.

But it was really such a wonderful thing; she knew she couldn't say mad at it.

"OH!" Mira spoke again, her face lighting up. Victoria had played earlier! She was a winner too! The reason behind this whole party. "You were fantastic," she gushed, her hands falling onto the other girl's lap in praising manner. Her head bent slightly as she let out a long laugh, playfully shaking in a way that was reminiscent of bowing before something.

People often felt that way about the drink. They might say that they were done with it for the rest of their lives, but what they really meant was that they were done with it until the next time a special occasion came up. She grinned widely when Mira put her hands onto her lap, tilting her nose up a bit for the moment that Mira spoke to her.

"Thank you! And if he's already drunk, then he probably doesn't even care about what you're doing. That's very sad." Victoria swayed forward, bumping her forehead against Mira's briefly. For her part, she was quite familiar with the 'fluid sexuality' that alcohol brought out in girls who were in public. It wasn't ... a problem, necessarily. She didn't think Vinny would mind...

Hmm. She'd have to consider that option.

Mira blinked, suddenly noticing how close she was to Victoria. Understanding personal space was another ability Mira lacked while intoxicated. But they were at a party, the whole point was to have fun! You couldn't have fun separated halfway across the room from someone! So actually, there really was no problem here at all.

And Victoria didn't seem to mind. Mira smiled widely, her teeth showing in her smile. "Nope, no one does," she spoke suddenly, her eyes rolling with her head. Her tone came out in a less-than-serious, mocking tone. "Poor Mira, just a lowly civilian." Letting out a faux sigh, her eyes wandered as she spoke, not really paying attention to the words formulating from her mouth.

Suddenly, she got the wild urge to grab Victoria's face, and proceed to start a heavy snogging session with her. Mira really didn't know where it came from, but... it didn't sound that bad. Actually, the idea of it sounded hot. And it wasn't like they were doing anything anyway--- Seth and Vinny were nowhere to be seen. Boring.

Very much determined to make this happen now, Mira wasted no time motioning Victoria closer to her with her index finger. "I have an idea for something fun," Mira semi-whispered, purposely pressing her forehead to Victoria's now. A knowing glint was present in her eye, at least giving Victoria some idea of what she was insinuating.

"Oh, I care!" She matched the mocking tone with one of her own, fully dramatic and with large arm-movements to accompany her expression of caring.

Ah-- the boys. Very boring. For all they knew, Seth and Vinny were off doing the same thing that they were going to do. Victoria blinked, obediently sliding forward until her forehead was pressed right up against Mira's. Yes, she knew exactly where this was going and she didn't have a problem with it -- not at all.

"You do?" Victoria's voice was hushed, and she was already sliding her hands onto Mira's thighs as she leaned in toward the other woman, a sweet smile on her lips.

"Well, I do like to have fun..."

They were going to be good friends after this, she knew already.

A wide grin appeared on Mira's face, and she closed her eyes for a brief moment as she thought. She absolutely loved that Victoria had caught on so quickly, and was even more excited that this was about to happen. She hadn't snogged a girl in too long; yes of course she had before, how else would she know how fun it was? She would know from experience; boys may be better at sex, but girls were always better at making out.

Though, actually, she had never technically slept with a girl before, so she wouldn't quite know--- but that was a bit too far for right now.

Flashing her eyes open, Mira slid her hand to grip the side of Victoria's face. Without much of a warning aside from the wicked grin plastered across her face, she forcefully pushed her lips onto Victoria's. Having no desire to be gentle or soft, she quickly rose to her knees, making it much easier to open her mouth wider. Not to mention she preferred to be on top.

The best way to get to know someone was to stick your tongue in their mouth. No, seriously. You could tell a lot about a person by how good their oral hygiene ended up being.

Vinny had been the one she'd been making out with lately, and probably the only one. She missed some of the girlfriends of the Quidditch players back home for this very reason -- they understood that it could just be about kissing without having to be anything else. Maybe she should have been thinking more about what Vinny might think, but right now she was too busy enjoying the feel of Mira's lips against hers. She let her eyes slide shut for a moment, bringing one of her hands to the back of Mira's neck in case the other girl decided to pull away. She let out a soft sight into Mira's mouth, pressing her lips back hard against the other woman's.

If you thought Seth Wadcock was a smug obnoxious bastard on an average day, then tonight wasn't going to help his argument against his case at all. Although he really couldn't help it. The Magpies had just won the Championship Cup. He had just won the Championship Cup for the second time. Twice he had been to the cup, and twice he had won. Really, nothing could kill his mood at the moment.

He was so happy that he didn't even care that he wasn't Captain and Odette was, or that Parkin got MVP. He was even willing to admit he deserved it (after a few drinks). Seth didn't even go over and give his brother a hard time about wearing jeans, or being slightly drunk, or kissing that girl on the cheek (at that point Seth wasn't even sure it was Henry anymore and not some body snatcher). Although none of that would be forgotten and he would be bringing it up later.

He weaved through the crowd, grabbing another drink as he passed a waiter. He had to find Mira. Stupid interviews and press conferences took far too long and right now, the only way this day would get better was to go and kiss his girlfriend. And getting laid. Then it would be the best day ever. But even if he didn't, whatever. He was Quidditch Champ and nothing would ruin that.
