Party Post! - Sunday Night
"MONTROSE MAGPIES, THE 1982 BRITISH AND IRISH LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!"

Oh, Maggie would never get tired of hearing that. As trying as the past few weeks, months had been, seeing her stadium (her stadium) lit up with fireworks and fans and just---it was amazing, it was the best feeling she'd ever had in the whole entire world. She was a champion! Her team, they were champions! Oh, she loved her team, she really did. As much as they annoyed her all the time, they had definitely suffered through enough embarrassment and humiliation to last a lifetime and it just made them all work so much harder to get to this place.

The celebration party was set for the pitch of Montrose Stadium, a great white, billowing tent was set up almost immediately after the teams had come off the pitch, and after two hours of interviews and awards (Drake won the game M.V.P.! Maggie had jumped onto his back mid-interview), she was now dressed like a a bloody rockstar. She definitely felt like one, and would continue to feel this way all the way until next year's championship.

She felt a hand on her elbow and Maggie twisted, her eyes batting with a great smile, "What a match, huh?"

[OOC:] You can either tag at the party, or comment as if it were a news post! Interactive fun~

Heidi hadn't known exactly how formal this was going to be, and whether she was expected to dress in the 'team colours' or anything like that. She'd just so happened to do that, but it hadn't been intentional. When Henry came rushing at her, she thought for a vague and horrifying moment that he was going to tackle her to the ground.

That might've gone poorly, she thought. She was ... glad, though, that he seemed to be happy to see her. She was never sure how to take a new relationship, they were hard enough for her before she'd had to deal with her husband being killed and now they were just awful and daunting. Things with Henry, though ... they didn't have to make it into anything complicated yet.

"Well, I'd feel terrible leaving this ticket to go to waste," she admitted with a small smile.

She did have to work tomorrow, but that was the furthest thing from her mind at the moment. No, right now she was examining the fact that Henry actually looked relaxed and happy. She nodded firmly, reaching out to give his hand a quick squeeze. That was about as much affection on the returning end as she could manage right now, and it looked kind of silly to kiss a bloke's cheek anyway, didn't it?

"They did win -- at least partially because you are an excellent agent for some of them, I'm sure."

"Oh, of course!" Henry let out loudly and sarcastically, his face contorting into an amused smile. It was going to look smashing on his resume, of course, that he'd reformed the trouble-maker Seth Wadcock along with introducing the world to the Canadian beaut Victoria Cadwallader, and had somehow kept them sane enough (while on the Magpies, no less!) to help them, help their team win the cup.

Henry had never experienced this kind of attention, and while it was no where near what the players were receiving, he was already getting owls from different agencies asking if he'd like to jump ship. Things were really looking up for Henry Wadcock. He grinned down at Heidi and offered his arm,

"Do you want to get a drink?" He felt himself get slightly lightheaded as he finally took in her outfit, but he blamed that on the alcohol, "I'm done for the night, I swear!"

Well, at least he wasn't saying that any of this had been because of him. She'd heard the rumors about the Magpies last year, and they certainly seemed to be doing better than they had been. Henry was one of the few factors that had actually changed on that team, after all, so it was only natural to assume he had something to do with their sudden urge to win.

She took his arm with a slight grin and laughed, ducking her head for a moment. "Are you, now? Well, I should have gotten here earlier." Then they'd have been at the same level of intoxication. Alas, not an option right now unless Heidi did some serious heavy drinking.

"I'd love a glass of wine, though." Or a good, strong martini. Heidi rested her hand lightly against his forearm. Hmm, he really was more muscular than his normal attire let on. She approved.

"I was surprised you invited me," she admitted after a moment. After all, they really hadn't been on a proper date, just coffee ... and he hadn't seemed keen to share the fact that he was an agent. She'd been thinking that perhaps he wanted to keep his work and personal life as separate as possible.

"I was too, to be honest," he said, but then looked down at Heidi with a look of concern, "Not that I don't enjoy your company, I don't think I've ever had a coffee break that lasted two hours and ended up with a cold brew..."

Henry cleared his throat and straightened up. He was still very surprised that she'd showed up at all. Wizards really needed some sort of way to communicate quicker and easier than owls or the magical journals. What if he hadn't happened to look by the door at that time? It could have taken him nearly a half an hour more before he'd found her, with this crowd, and what kind of date would that have made him?

"I figured," he started, pulling out a stool for Heidi as they reached the bar, "that if they lost, you could at least have some replica of a backstage pass to show to your new coworkers tomorrow," Henry grinned, sliding up onto a stool as well. He felt oddly comfortable, and while most of that had to do with the many drinks he'd had, he knew that he was relaxed because he didn't feel the need to go and impress Heidi like he so often felt with people,

"...and if they won, it could quite possibly be the best first date ever."

Henry was surprised that he'd invited her? Well, considering he'd been unable to predict whether the Magpies were going to win or lose, she supposed that would make sense. If they'd lost he'd probably be in a much more sour mood than he was right now. He seemed to take his job very seriously, after all.

She nodded again, setting herself on the stool with another smile toward Henry. "Oh, quite possibly." She didn't bring up her first date with her late husband -- he'd been rich and overbearing and they'd ended up with an entire restaurant to themselves for the evening. It had been nice, but also quite lonely.

Actually, that summed up her marriage nicely. Heidi rolled her shoulders, glancing over to Henry. "So, are you going to be moving up in the world now that you've helped this team to victory?" It seemed like a big deal.

Henry waved down the bartender, ordering a water for himself and allowing Heidi to place her own (he really had no idea about wine, or any other drink really as he went out so little--). He listened to her question with his own mind swirling with the same thoughts. Would this change his future? Maybe, it could, it definitely could. Players would trust him more, he supposed. He was definitely one of the strictest agents in the game, but that didn't always mean the best. Now that he had two champions under his belt (it had almost been three, with Holly Troy, a few years back...) and he finally felt like a big time...well, player in this game.

"I don't know, honestly!" he let out, feeling good to not have things planned or thought out. Maybe his brother was right in that sense; it didn't make sense to try and plan out every minute of your life, you're going to be far more disappointed than just allowing yourself to just go along with things, "I can probably score some more interviews, at least."

He didn't think he was very interesting, however, definitely not as interesting as the girl sitting beside him. Henry let out a breath and waved gently toward Heidi, "What about you? Are you excited about the job?"

She ordered a nice, dry white wine before she turned back to Henry again, listening to him speak with a small nod. "You'll probably be able to afford to start being pickier with clients, as well." So he wouldn't have to take on anyone who was a trainwreck unless he was looking for a major challenge. That would be nice, she was sure.

Then he was asking her about things and she laughed softly, rubbing the back of her neck. "I'm really nervous, actually! My brother -- knows the bloke that I'm going to be working for, so I'm hoping that he didn't just hire me so that Daniel wouldn't be cross at him." Not that Brady seemed like the type to do that. "It's just my first really big job since I finished up with my paralegal education." At the time it had just been something vaguely interesting to fill up her days, but she'd found that she quite enjoyed it.

"I'm just concerned I'll adavertently do something really bloody stupid, you know?"

Henry cut off his gulp mid drink as he shook his head, "No--don't worry about that! You're interning, right? They probably won't let you officially touch anything for ages, it's about learning!"

He usually wasn't one to share his embarrassing anecdotes, as they usually involved his brother pushing him into walls or humiliating him in front of women. The thought caused Henry to look up at the crowd to see if Seth was anywhere around, but he was probably pinning his girlfriend up against a wall with how excited he'd been after they'd won. Henry twisted face Heidi more directly and put his hand out,

"One time, it was my first season and I was finally allowed to have my own clients..." Henry laughed, recalling the fact that the player-who-shall-not-be-named still glared at him at events they both went to, "I missed the clause that stated he would have to speak at yearly, week-long seminars pertaining to the abuse of pumpkin pasties..."

Henry grimaced exaggeratedly and then laughed at his own stupidity. When was the last time he'd laughed at himself? Henry rubbed the back of his neck, hoping she didn't think he was too much of an idiot for that. He'd been young, "Maybe I'll have to utilize your law offices for future contracts."

"Oh no, I meant something like having a complete nervous breakdown and doing something psychotic." Not that she was going to admit to him that she'd done something like that before. He'd probably just think she was making a funny joke, right?

...right? Heidi couldn't help the laughter that spilled out when Henry told her his story about the first time he was allowed to have his own clients, though. How sweet was it that he was trying to make her feel less nervous about things by telling her embarrassing stories about him?

"I'm sure that you just skipped over it in your haste and excitement," she managed after a moment, taking a sip of her drink and then flashing him a quick smile. "Besides, that doesn't seem like the worst tradeoff in the world. He could have had to act as the spokeswizard for the WWN or something." Heidi nodded hastily when he spoke of the law offices. "Oh, I'm sure that Brady would love that! I mean, the offices can always use more publicity."
