Adrian!
It was the last Friday of the preseason and Maggie desperately wished that her 'holiday' could have stretched out just a few more days. Maybe another week, or a month, just as long as she didn't have to get on the pitch and have to be photographed by those thousands of people watching, just waiting for her to mess up. She'd never felt such a drop in confidence in her life, but her first match in a Tornadoes uniform was proving to be the scariest, most terrifying day she'd ever have to endure.

Maybe she could get sick, come down with dragon pox or something. No one could blame her if she had terrible spots boiling and bubbling all over her face, yeah?

The thought of her skin being covered in pox made Maggie wrinkle her nose, and she found herself returning to reality, staring at Adrian's back as he thanked the manager of the restaurant for keeping the more obtrusive fans (and cameramen) away from his and Maggie's dinner table. She was very grateful for the privacy, as her nerves had gotten the best of her throughout the night even if it had been a lovely dinner with quite the romantic atmosphere. She couldn't blame Adrian for doing his best to brighten her mood, and that was why she grabbed his hand the moment he was done talking, and pressed herself to his arm.

She smiled at the manager and quietly thanked him too, ready to go.

Party Post! - Sunday Night
"MONTROSE MAGPIES, THE 1982 BRITISH AND IRISH LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!"

Oh, Maggie would never get tired of hearing that. As trying as the past few weeks, months had been, seeing her stadium (her stadium) lit up with fireworks and fans and just---it was amazing, it was the best feeling she'd ever had in the whole entire world. She was a champion! Her team, they were champions! Oh, she loved her team, she really did. As much as they annoyed her all the time, they had definitely suffered through enough embarrassment and humiliation to last a lifetime and it just made them all work so much harder to get to this place.

The celebration party was set for the pitch of Montrose Stadium, a great white, billowing tent was set up almost immediately after the teams had come off the pitch, and after two hours of interviews and awards (Drake won the game M.V.P.! Maggie had jumped onto his back mid-interview), she was now dressed like a a bloody rockstar. She definitely felt like one, and would continue to feel this way all the way until next year's championship.

She felt a hand on her elbow and Maggie twisted, her eyes batting with a great smile, "What a match, huh?"

[OOC:] You can either tag at the party, or comment as if it were a news post! Interactive fun~

Valentine's Day Gala!

Being the defending champs gave the members of the Caerphilly Catapults many obligations, like being the MC's of this rather lavish evening...or, rather, the boys had volunteered Carys to do all the talking as they stood and looked cute in their suits. It was a job that she didn't particularly mind, she'd been in the spotlight all her life, but she grew bored of introducing generous donors and the big-wigs of the league. Carys knew about all the politics that went on behind the scenes, so she put on a good face, but was definitely not shy about voicing her opinion on certain matters.

"Oh, absolutely," she said to the head of the refereeing committee, "But when you've got one ref on the offensive side, and the foul's committed on the far end of the defense's area....I'm just saying, we should probably be taking advantage of--oh, what's it called?" Carys winked at the man, and at the reporter listening in, "--magic?"

She laughed when he huffed and excused himself, and the reporter shook her hand for the great sound bit. Carys gave a little twirl (her dress had too many ruffles not to twirl), and leaned over the counter to order another drink. The sound of something like an amused snort made her turn her head, and she raised her eyebrows,

"Something funny?"

Adrian!
It was still very, very strange to think of herself as a mother, but Maggie managed. She was a cool mum. She was a cool, hip, hot young mother! A single mum, at that! Maggie was raising Josef all by herself, and doing a pretty damn good job! Okay, so maybe Geoffrey came over quite a bit, but that was because he didn't have a girlfriend and had nothing else to do after practice. And Odette came by a lot, but that was because Anna needed a play buddy and----Drystan too, but that was because he probably thought she was going to drop Josef on his head or something (she'd only dropped him once, but had caught him just in time!).

And there was Adrian, too. Maggie didn't really know what to think of him, besides the fact that he was a great actor. He must've taken lessons in Portugal or something, because he was ridiculously good at being an affectionate boyfriend, which is hard when you're not actually getting any affection out of it. Josef seemed to like him, too, and it just---worked. Their little façade worked; Adrian was praised beyond belief for sweeping in and taking up his responsibilities as Josef's 'father', and Maggie didn't have to deal with all the questions and concerns the public had about her personal life.

They thought she was happy with her perfect foreign boyfriend.

And she was. Except he was fake.

"Ooooohh, look what Opa sent!" Maggie cooed, pulling up the tiniest Heidelberg Harriers jersey she'd ever seen. She held it up for Josef, sitting in his bouncy seat, to see. He didn't seem very impressed, so she turned toward Adrian, "Look at how cute!"

Why was he plagued with the worst kind of luck! Why? One would think that it would be great, to have any kind of good luck at all. But in Adrian's opinion, it wasn't. Life would be a lot easier to deal with if he knew that things would always go one way or another; not in the twisted way it usually did for him. Like having a famous father. Sure that was great, but it wasn't exactly like they had ever really met. That didn't get him very far did it? And now, Noah Boot---

Adrian cringed at the thought of the other man, his feet coming to a stop. Yes, Adrian had somehow gotten out of Friday's event alive and well (how, he still had no idea), but the man in the planetarium that had saved him had been taken. Kidnapped! If that wasn't enough, after further research Adrian discovered that this kidnapped man was Noah Boot, and he was Odette's fiance! How-- how was that even possible? Out of all the people--- the one person--- it was unbelievable. The worst kind of good luck. Now there was the possibility-- Adrian shook his head again, forcing himself to move forward through the Magpies' Stadium.

He had to tell Odette. It wasn't... he knew she wouldn't take it well, but this knowledge was eating him alive; it was starting to become unbearable. Pulling back his shoulders in an anxious manner, Adrian finally found himself walking out onto the pitch. The team wasn't practicing now, he knew that, but he had hoped he would find Odette here beating out whatever issues she had at the moment. After a few seconds of searching the sky and the stands, he realized she wasn't here.

Sighing, he turned and spotted a blonde woman still in gear a few meters away from him. No doubt she was one of Odette's teammates; she would have some idea, wouldn't she? Adrian promptly walked over, too focused on his mission to remember common courtesy. "Have you seen Odette?" he asked, shielding the sun's glare from his eyes with his hand.

Magpie Team Meeting of Doom

Seth was laying out on the grass of the pitch staring up at the sky, while he waited for everyone else to show up.  He had tried sitting in the team room but just ended up pacing back and forth and stressing himself out even more.  So he came out to the pitch where he was always more relaxed.

He ran his hands over his face as he tried to get his thoughts together.  Maybe Odette was right in thinking that this was all a bad idea.  But he had to at least try.  All he had to do was present his case, ask for a vote and let the chips fall as they may.  If they all wanted to keep Drystan as captain, then fine, he wouldn't bring it up again.  This was only because he had originally intended it to be a temporary step down, so it should all be settled before the new season.  And give him some credit, it wasn't like he didn't already know how this was going to turn out, it would just be better if it was official.

"Oh hey"  Seth blinked looking up as a shadow was cast over his face.  "Anyone else here yet?"

You know who.
Braith wasn't all that sure what he had with Maggie, but he'd gotten off of work early today and he'd seen some magnolias in the window of the flower shop on his way home. It might have been cliche and predictable, but at least it was still a nice gesture, right? It was a low-pressure way of telling Maggie that if she wanted something more with him then that was just fine.

Even if she wasn't exactly a pureblood and she was a little younger than him. He'd already lost one fantastic woman to his habit of going back on his sincerity in a relationship (that and the fact that Amelia had been politically ... troubling). He didn't want to end up alone forever.

He cleared his throat and tugged at his jacket sleeve before he knocked on the door, hoping she was home. Maybe she was out helping her teammates train for the big Quidditch game and he should just leave them with ... someone?

No, he wanted to see her.

Corner/Englewood Wedding! For New Year's Eve!
Getting married was absolutely terrifying. No matter how smoothly Gabriel proceeded through the planning, the discussions, and the actual event, he was holding back getting sick the second he could catch a moment to himself. He knew he didn't love Rachel yet, which might be the reason why he was finding himself so nervous as they sat at the head table of their reception, but he did honestly---he did honestly believe that he could fall in love with this woman. She was fiery with a mind of her own, and though some people might be irritated by it, Gabriel actually appreciated the way she took control of things. He had always been a bit of a follower, and it was easy to agree with Rachel because her reasoning simply made sense.

The reception did look fantastic. Gabriel couldn't believe it was all put together within two short months, but then again he was learning that Rachel was a woman who set her goals and refused to leave them unfinished. Maybe he should look at that as a good thing; surely someone who did not want to get married would not have put so much effort into the ceremony? Or she simply wanted to throw the most beautiful wedding of them all, simply because she could. He didn't know, and didn't mind not finding out as long as they remained content with each other.

He did find her very interesting, however, and that was the first thing a Ravenclaw looked for in a spouse. Maybe all of his concerns were for naught, and it was simply wedding day jitters. His parents had been arranged in a similar manner, and they were still quite happily married (and sometimes nauseatingly sweet about it, too). Gabriel turned and smiled at Rachel, pushing his chair out and offering his hand, "Would you like to dance?"

A chorus of glasses clinging supported Gabriel, and he flushed slightly at all the attention that was on them, once again.
