On Matters of the Heart
Well, this was it. It's weird that not two weeks ago he would have thought he would be on a date with Asherah Curry, princess of Atlantis. Sure, she was cute, but he never took notice of her in that way. Maybe it was the blond hair that he had come to associate with a terrible romance. Maybe it was the way she kept to herself, her shyness having him overlook her as a possible romantic interest. Maybe he just hadn't considered that she would be interested in him. His luck with women was shitty and his ability to tell of romantic interest was even worse that his luck.

And yet here he was. He had stewed over it a lot. He had even scored the lowest he has ever had on a test because of it (B+). And now it was time whether it was just him feeling bad for ignoring her or if there was really something there that was attracted to her.

Ash had been very nervous. Even after talking to Cindy Ash had still been so wound up. She had forced herself to calm down over three separate near panics because really she had to tell herself it would be fine.

She was sure Michael would still want to be friends if this turned out awkwardly. Needless to say she's running a little late and feels really bad about it. But at least she can say it was because she had been trying to pick out the right dress.

Michael couldn't have had the time farthest from his mind with everything else that was crowding that bit out.

He wanted to at least show the girl a good time. If there wasn't a spark there, then so be it. If there was...

Well, He really wasn't sure what to think.

But the first thing he does notice is her dress and how good she looks in it.

"Wow. You look great, Ash."

	It's Greek themed as that's a style Ash is comfortable with. She's comfortable in it and it goes down to her knees so she's not exactly showing off too much. 	"Cool." The ten minutes do go by fast and once the tour commences Michael is quick to point out the architectural quirks of the building. The slight angle downward to the ramps going up. The positioning of the art. The little details the tour guide missed. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Even though Ash is listening to the tour guide with as an attentive an ear as she can she still leans in to ask Michael questions. She's a very curious person and she's more puzzled by some choices when it comes to how the building is put together. 	Once the tour was over (and the eyes were away from them, Michael smiles a bit. This is feeling pretty nice. He didn't know what to expect when this started, but everything is on the up and up and he's having fun. "So, what'd you think?" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"That was interesting, I didn't know surfacers could do stuff like this," Ash is grinning a bit. "I mean.... a lot of the metal working is news to me. We can't do anything like this in Atlantis.... Another big difference we have. But our stone and coral working is an art form in itself.... and we don't have paint. We have a kind of pigmentation that we leave by putting seaweed over it and as the tide drags the sea weed weave away over time the pigment has been compressed in by the water and the weight of it all.. other than that? Nice stone work. I guess people forget how sturdy sea weed can be. I mean, it doesn't tear easily unless it's dried out or very old."

Ash can't help that huge babble-fest. When she realizes just how much she has gone off she blushes. "Sorry. I got a little excited."

	Michael knew that she wasn't meaning anything bad by that, but his asshole tendencies did win out a bit. He put on a mock-shocked face. "What? You mean we couldn't build stuff? 	Michael finds himself laughing along. It's not a derisive laugh, as he would have done with most other people who would have made that mistake, but an honest, hearty laugh. 	"We don't use it often for a reason," Ash agrees. "It's harder to get metal to stand the test of time. That's why we use coral so often. I guess it makes our buildings look strange to you." She's happy right now. This has moved to feeling very natural. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
