The Search Continues
Their mission was simple. Find and mark potential brides for Set. New York City was one of the largest cities on the planet and home to the highest concentration of super-powered beings. Set had to have extraordinary women for his brides and there was no better place to look.

Yoggurl and Skarprius were in different part of the city from Dosschok looking for a potential bride for their god. Yoggurl was keeping them mostly hidden with her limited telepathic abilities. So far they hadn't found any potential brides.

When it didn't appear they were going to find any of the superpowered set, they decided to take matters into their own hands and bring the heroes to them. The best way to do that was to cause a disturbance. A rather big disturbance and something the local law enforcement wouldn't be able to handle.

Yoggurl and Skarprius each grabbed a park car and tossed it into the middle of the busy New York street. Then they each grabbed another one and tossed those into the street. Tires screeched on the pavement as moving cars skidded to stops. Some didn't quite manage to stop and slammed into the ones that did manage to stop.

Traffic was now at a standstill and the two “women” walked out into the street. Now they started picking up cars containing passengers.

	Kal sighed and took to the air. The date was going so well too. Some time out with Jack was exactly what she needed. It took her mind off her father for awhile. "Put it down!" she ordered. There was a hint of a glow in her eyes. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Yoggurl tossed the car she was holding down the street and immediately went for the man who dared interrupt. Skarpirus smiled and tossed the car with a family in it aside. She launched herself at the flying woman, intending to sink her poisonous claws into the woman. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Jack rolled as the car was in mid-toss, landing on another parked car. Oh good. Crazy villain was now chasing him. At his first opportunity, a fire escape low enough for him to catch and swing himself upwards toward the sky, he took off for the rooftops. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Kalypso rushed in to meet the woman flying at her. Kal took a swing with a right as soon as she was close enough. The woman managed to swipe her arm with her claws as Kal punched her. Kal's eyes were glowing. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Eternal!" Skarpirus hissed as she went flying backwards. She hit the side of a building and stayed there for a long moment. The Eternal was more than they counted on. Eternals were age old enemies of the deviants and impossible to kill.

Yoggul hesitated for a moment when Skarpirus yelled. An Eternal. The hated enemies of her people. Go after the fleeing man or stay and battle the hated Eternal? It was a hard decision.

	Kal's eyes narrowed and she tried to get inside the mind of the one she hit with a right hook. She couldn't and that only meant one thing. "Deviant!" she yelled. Kal channeled cosmic energy and unleashed it at the deviant. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The brick hit Yoggurl but it didn't do any damage. It did annoy her and he started after the man. Skarpirus took the blast full on and she shrugged it off. The heat from the blast would not affect her. She flew toward the Eternal. Down on the street two priests stood watching the battle and quite pleased. An Eternal would make a fine bride for Set. Yoggurl continued to chase the man until he stopped and turned to face her. She smiled. She opened her mouth and breathed a stream of balefire toward the man.

Skarpirus stopped in her tracks when she saw the gathered host of Eternals. One was enough to handle, but a dozen or more? She didn't stand a chance. Her orders were to find a possible bride, not engage in an all out battle with Eternals.

The chimney stood up to the balfire and Yoggurl was a bit disappointed she didn't hit her target. Well if balefire didn't work, maybe a mental attack would. She unleashed a psychic blast toward the man hiding behind the chimney.

Skarpirus knew she had been fooled by an illusion. She hit the ground hard and was starting to get up when the Eternal hit her again, making a bigger dent in the street.

	Jack didn't keep still. He continued moving around the other side, intending to use the chimney as a step up to make his attack. He wasn't expecting the psychic blast. It caught him by surprise, forcing him to stumble to his knees on the roof. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Kal didn't let up. She continued to hit the deviant and increasing the size of the dent in the street. She felt someone touch her back for a brief moment and her vision blurred for a second. She unleashed another blast of cosmic energy at the deviant. With any luck it would affect the deviant this up close and personal. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Skarpirus felt the heat of the woman's blasts. This close they were more intense. Skarpirus drew in a deep breath and breathed out a cloud of acid. Her opponent fell back just a bit and Skarpirus used it to her advantage. She heaved the Eternal off of her and into the side of a building.

Yoggurl smiled and unleashed another psychic blast. She didn't want the man getting up any time soon.

That hurt. A lot. Kal slowly pulled herself out of the side of the building and looked at her opponent. There was one way to get rid of her and as unpleasant as it was, Kal had to do it.

She charged the deviant, grabbed her and teleported away. A moment later she dropped the deviant in the cold icy waters of the arctic ocean. Kal hovered for a few moments and started flying back toward New York. As soon as she composed herself again, she'd teleport back.

	Yoggurl heard the call by the priests. She watched the man crawl away. He was of no concern. She lifted off of the roof and went back down to the street below. Their objective had been met. When Kal felt a little more like herself, she teleported back to New York and to the same spot she had left.

She collapsed in a heap. She hurt all over and she was wounded. Not that the wounds would last long, but they still hurt. Her face hurt from the acid cloud and her arm was hurting where the deviant had scratched her. Not to mention she was exhausted from expending so much energy.

/Jack?/ she sent out.

"Deviants are...I'll try to explain this as simply as possible. When the Celestials came to Earth they did a few experiments on homo erectus. The Eternals were their success. The deviants...they were the failures. Their DNA is unstable so mutations are very common. Children don't look like parents and on and on. Once they ruled the whole Earth except for Atlantis and they enslaved the humans. The Eternals have fought them since the very beginning, but their numbers were way too great for my people to free humanity at that time."

She paused to take a deep breath.

"The Celestials paid a visit as they do once and awhile and all but wiped them out. That's when Atlantis and their city of Lemuria sank beneath the waves. Humans were free and went to populate the Earth. My people have been keeping watch and battling the deviants since then so they cannot enslave humanity again."

She shook her head.

"This was very strange. Deviants have never had powers like the ones we've seen in all of the Eternals' recorded history."
