Characters: Tatum & Frankie. Setting: Tatum's house in Maine; Sunday, August 15th; mid-afternoonish. Content: It should be SFW, unless you work in a Catholic church, as I've said before. Summary: Frankie is coming to visit Tatum and stay at her place for a few days. Tatum is, naturally, excited as hell, but also feeling a little bit of a neurotic mess about it. Tatum had done everything in her power to make sure that the entire setting would be perfect for when her girlfriend arrived. Of course, not that anyone in her family outside of her siblings knew that Frankie was her girlfriend. As far as Mick or Madeline were concerned, Tatum was just having a friend over, and that was good enough explanation for them. Tatum hadn't had anyone over to visit really in quite sometime, scarcely even at all. She had always been the type to keep to herself during school, and during school vacations. Video games and lots of basement dwelling about summarized the majority of how she spent July and August. But this time was going to be different, and it had her stomach doing flips. She had gotten up around eight, a near miracle for her, and gone about her business for getting things all ready to go. She had showered, picked out what to wear, and tried to tidy up her room a little bit. If Frankie was going to have to stay in there with her, which she assumed the other girl would prefer to the couch in the den, then she wanted it to be as tidy as possible. She had even taken the time to straighten up the volumes of comic books on her book shelf, and gone over her laptop with a can of pressured air. Dust was unacceptable. By the time she finished everything, it was around one o'clock, and Frankie was due at any moment. It had Tatum twisted her hands in her lap, anxious. Her parents were gone out grocery shopping, Rath was still in bed, Sera was in her room doing something or other; as she had been doing a lot lately. Whatever had gone down when the younger Donnelly had gotten her blonde friend to come visit, Tatum didn't have a clue, but she had a feeling it hadn't been good. She had been debating over a sisterly talk the last few days, but hadn't been able to work up the guts quite yet. And then when Frankie said she'd come and visit, all of the thoughts of worrying about Sera were gone, replaced with all of these nervous feelings. Taking one last look over her new much cleaner bedroom, the ex-redhead made her way down the hall, tossing the towels from her shower into the laundry basket on her way, before descending the stairs. Reaching the living room, she made sure that that part of the house was clean, before going into the kitchen to wait. She shooed her cat from the counter-top, rolling her eyes a little as he let out a small squawking meow of protest in return to being pushed. Starting the kettle on boiling, she intended to make a cup of tea, something to hold onto in her shaking hands, something to calm her down, even just a little bit. She reached for the tea-bags, tossing one into a mug, and then settling for staring at the kettle, waiting for the boil. Tags: !incomplete, francios prideaux, tatum donnelly

Tatum was just finishing up with her cup of tea, adding some honey to the mug, when she heard Frankie call out her name. It made her jump a little, but she couldn't deny the feeling of happiness that it brought her to hear her girlfriend's voice again. She had grown so accustomed to hearing it everyday during school, especially with her room just right next to the one Frankie shared with Rowan. Even when they hadn't been dating, Frankie had always been around, and it was a welcome comfort.
"In the kitchen!" she replied, knowing that Frankie shouldn't have that much trouble finding her. Once exiting the living room, it was either walk into the kitchen, up the stairs, or go out the front door. "I'm making tea, do you want some?" she offered.

Tatum returned the hug as best she could, smiling sheepishly against the kiss to her cheek. When she got blushing, it looked even funnier now, with her hair bleached out instead of it's usual bright red. "I miss you too," she replied, moving back over to where her own mug of tea was sitting on the counter-top. She got down another mug for Frankie, putting in a tea-bag and then adding the water, sliding it her way, along with the honey and the sugar jar. "We, uhm.. have milk in the fridge, if you want to add some?" she offered, before picking up her own mug, taking a little sip.
Smirking at the comment, Tatum nodded her head. "That is the saying, usually.. and I have to say the feeling is mutual. It's been boring as hell without you. I actually got some leveling done," she teased.

Tatum couldn't help but laugh a little at Frankie's question, lowering her mug from her lips to speak. "Just the usual World of Warcraft stuff, don't worry about it," she answered, shaking her head. "Oh, and I told my friends in the game that I wouldn't be online for a few days. They're just impressed that I even know a girl, let alone date one. Wonders of the internet, huh?"
When Frankie mentioned how her home had been, Tatum nodded slowly. "It hasn't been that bad here. This is the first time I've gotten out of bed before noon all week," she teased. "Sera's been kind of weird, though. She was all good for a while, and then her friend came to visit, and now she's being all cranky again. So I've mostly just been doing my own things."

Tatum laughed again, nodding her head. "I hadn't considered that, actually. Maybe she ran out of homework to do? She was already asking me for my work from last year so that she could look over it and make some notes," she explained, rolling her eyes a bit. "I can't imagine being so focused on something like that, but.. she says that about me and my laptop, I suppose."
Glancing around the kitchen, Tatum re-located the honey and sugar, quickly putting them back into the cupboard, before turning on Frankie again. "So, uhm.. you wanna take your bags up to my room? And do.. whatever? I've got a couple joints rolled upstairs, we could go for a walk, or a swim, or.. uhm, we could go for a drive into town, or whatever you wanna do, babe."
Babe, it came so naturally now, but Tatum couldn't help but blush a little. Even though they had been together for a couple of months now, she was still adjusting to the girlfriend aspect of living her life. At least she wasn't as awkward with Frankie as she had once been.

"Swimming it is," Tatum agreed, although she did visibly pale a bit when Frankie brought up her bikini. She could tell the brunette was teasing her, it was in the grin on her face and the look in her eyes. Offering a sheepish smile, she shrugged a bit, eyes on the bag for a moment, before glancing back to Frankie. "Always good to come prepared, huh?"
Lifting her tea to her lips, she drank the last few mouthfuls, before moving over to put her empty mug into the sink. "I guess we should.. uhm, go change and stuff then," she offered, moving over to where her girlfriend was standing, and crouching down to pick up her bag for her. "Ignore the ugly family pictures along the stairs, please?"

Tatum couldn't deny trying to hurry up the steps, attempting to avoid Frankie staring at any of them for too long, but really rather unable to stop her. At least she didn't laugh out loud or anything. "Very embarrassing," she corrected the other girl, rolling her eyes, and holding the door open for her to go inside, before following.
Moving over to drop Frankie's bag unceremoniously onto her bed, she went to her own dresser, pulling open the second drawer and fishing around for a minute before pulling out her own bikini. Glancing over her shoulder at her girlfriend, she offered her another embarrassed little smile. "Do you, uhm, want me to go get changed in the bathroom, or we can both.. uhm, doesn't matter to me, or whatever?"
She was verbal-vomiting, and only half of that sentence even made sense, but she figured Frankie was good at deciphering her awkward babble by now.

Tatum could only smile a little when Frankie pulled her in, nodding obediently, and returning the kiss briefly before her girlfriend was pulling away, and making her way into the water. "You're crazy, how can you duck in so quick?" Tatum called after her, as she took the last puff of her joint, before tossing the roach down onto the rocky shore. She debated for a moment, but eventually removed her swim trunks, standing in just her bikini instead. If it was just the two of them, she supposed she had nothing to hide.
Stepping into the lake, she shivered a little, but decided to just get it over with; wading out up to her waist, stopping there for a moment, before going further, shivering the whole way. As she reached Frankie, she managed a smile, reaching over to brush her fingers across the other girl's exposed stomach under the water.

"Yeah, not too bad if you're a polar bear or something," Tatum retorted, rolling her eyes at her girlfriend. She was mostly teasing, as it was definitely improving with time. All of the submerged parts of her body barely even felt cold anymore, and anything was better than the sweaty humidity of the air around them.
She followed Frankie further out, ducking her head under once they were treading, before coming up and rubbing the water out of her eyes, pushing her wet hair out of her face. "Better," she commented, flopping back a little, floating lazily for a few moments.

"Ugh, don't even mention school," Tatum groaned, her arms folding behind her head as she floated along the water, glad to have the sunglasses over her eyes, but still closing them against the glare from the sky. "All of New Orleans should have some kind of central air system, I feel like I'm melting for eighty percent of the year," she murmured.
"I don't think I'd swim in front of the whole school though," she added, lifting her head a bit to look over at Frankie, smirking at her. "Especially without shorts, this is a treat just for you," she teased her, splashing her a little.

"Not true," Tatum quickly corrected her, turning over a bit, and ducking under again, wiping her eyes quickly. She began to tread water, trying to stay up now that she was no longer floating so lazily. "You're gorgeous, not at all like me.. well, same height and stuff, but that just works in our favor for snuggling purposes. But otherwise, you're in a whole other league," the former redhead murmured, quirking a little bit of a smile. She wasn't looking for sympathy, even if sometimes people saw it as such; it was just how she felt, honestly.
When Frankie admitted to sneaking a peak, Tatum laughed, splashing her again, and knowing her face was turning bright red. "You so did not," she said, grinning. "But I totally did at you, just a little."

"Couldn't I use the same excuse?" Tatum mumbled against the kiss, her eyes closing slowly, leaning in against Frankie's body. It was nice to be close to her, especially with the water around them, keeping them cool. Plus they were fairly secluded, and unless her brother or sister decided to take a walk down, it was unlikely anyone would catch them. She was pretty sure neither of them would be leaving their rooms anytime soon though, thankfully.
She let out a little whimper as Frankie's tongue brushed against her own, mimicking the same action, her hands coming to rest loosely on her girlfriend's shoulders as they kissed. She pulled back from Frankie's lips after a few moments, once she needed a breath, which she quickly took before lowering her head a bit, lips pressing against the other girl's throat. "I really did miss you," she murmured.
