Patrolling (open)
It had been quite sometime since Sin had gone out as Black Canary. Truth be told, she'd missed it a little. Se enjoyed going out at night and helping those in need.

It was a pretty quite night in Star City, and Sin made her way down to the Triangle. She made her way across the rooftops, looking out for any sign of trouble.

The Triangle may have been a cesspool of crime and corruption in Star City, but it was also home to some of the best late night take out tacos in the country. Sure, it was dangerous. If you weren't an Element Man, anyway. Anyone who tried to mug him would get more than they bargained for.

And hey, he was supposed to be "patrolling" right? Keep an eye on the stuff people like GK and his gun moll weren't able to handle on their own?

So, okay. Yeah. If anyone asked, that was what he was doing. While eating a dozen tacos.

Sin kept scanning the area for any sign of trouble.

...And then, she found it. In the form of a little girl screaming her head off as two grown men made their way toward her.

She narrowed her eyes, leaping over the rooftop towards the alley.

Sin landed nimbly on her feet in front of the little girl, between the two muggers.

"Who the hell's the broad in the fishnets?" One of the muggers asked his partner.

"This broad has a name," Sin said, her tone cold. "It's Black Canary. And she wants you to step away from this little one."

The muggers laughed, raising their guns. Sin raised her fists and struck a fighting stance.

"Once the little brat gives us the cash she's got on her, then we'll go. Now, step away Birdie, or we'll blow your damn brains out to Kingdom Come."

	Okay, screaming. That was bad. Joey stuffed the taco into his mouth, then ran toward the source. He stopped when he was far enough away to hear, but being behind the guys, not yet be seen. 	"You pose an excellent question," Sin said, her attention still on the little girl. "Why are you out so late, sweetheart." The little girl sniffles. "My mommy and daddy were fighting. I got scared." 	"Did they...hurt each other?" Sin asked. The little girl shook her head. "No. Just yelled." "Why don't we take you home, Little One? I'm sure your Mommy and Daddy are worried about you." "Thank you," she said.

They reached the little girl's house. Sin knocked on the door.

A tall, slightly tired looking man answered the door.

"Can I...." He then saw his daughter. "Amy?"

Amy sniffled. "Hi, Daddy."

Sin out a hand on Amy's shoulder. "We found her in one of the alleyways. She was very frightened when you and her mother started arguing, and she ran away. But she's very sorry now, for alarming you, right, Amy?"

Amy nodded.

	"No prob," Joey said. "And... um... Listen. The Stagg Industries Plant is always hiring." He handed over a card. His official title with the corporation was "director of special projects." It pretty much meant he got a lot of money for not screwing stuff up by doing anything important. "Let 'em know you talked to me. They'll get you set up with somethin'." He picked Amy up and carried her inside, and she waved to Joey and Sin. Once Amy and her father were inside, Sin turned to Joey. "That was a nice thing, what you did for them."
