A Knight Afterwards
The battle was won and Camelot was victorious. King Arthur had mostly recovered from his injuries though was still hurting a bit. He had been busy awarding his Knights for their brave deeds and valor over the course of the battle. There had been a lot of knights who deserved this.

Arthur had also invited the six strangers who had been so instrumental in saving his kingdom. He planned on knighting them for their efforts calling them up one by one.

	Eli is vexed and worried about his friend as well. The battle with the witch had left him weary, but he was recuperating well. Now, he watched as Vernique moved about and noted Lancelot's interest in her. He did not let it bother him... much. (Reply to this)(Parent)

Arthur stood before the kneeling Ryan and four of Arthur's knights flanked the man. A lady of the court came forth and draped a blue houpplande lined with white linen over Ryan. One by one the knights placed regalia on him, belt, sword, chain and spurs on him.

Arthur drew Excalibur. ""In the name of God, St. Michael, and St George, I create thee knight of Camelot. Be thou valiant, fearless, and loyal." Arthur tapped Ryan's left shoulder with the flat of the blade and then his right shoulder as he spoke. "Rise, Sir Ryan the Noble, Knight of Camelot."

	Svalin approached Arthur with the help of makeshift crutches. The burns on her skin were mostly gone and her leg was healing nicely. Her hair was short after having most of it cut off to even it out. She stopped before Arthur, respectfully bowed from the waist, but did not kneel. A princess of Asgard did not kneel before mortal kings. Even one as legendary as Arthur. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	Vernique seemed to remember that this was technically illegal, but for one thing, that law hadn't even been written yet, and they'd ignored far more important standards of normality on this trip. Eli gives a bow of the head to Arthur, but nothing further, the same as Svalin and Iason. His father might actually die if he knew Eli ever bowed to a human, even a noble one.

"Good king, it was this one's pleasure to aid you, but I cannot accept your generosity. I ask only that you and your descendants speak kindly of us when we have gone, and be willing to reach out to those different from yourselves, so that the world is filled with greater tolerance and understand of those with differences of birth." Eli says.

	Vernique's not sure if vaguely sociopolitical suggestions, even as social niceties with a monarch who tended to swing towards diplomacy a bit anyway, was very wise, especially from an Eternal perspective. But she can't help thinking it's adorably sweet. (Reply to this)(Parent)
