It's The Season of Grace Coming Out of the Void (Champions)
Christmas. Yule. Saturnalia. Dies Natalis Solis Invicti. Many cultures have celebrated and still celebrate a winter festival. There have been many names for it over the millennia. No matter the name it is a time to come together and celebrate with feasts and gifts with friends and loved ones.

Each culture has a legendary figure who would deliver gifts to children during this time. In Russia and some Slavic cultures he is known as Ded Moroz, Grandfather Frost, and comes not on Christmas but on New Year’s along with his granddaughter Snegurochka, or ‘”Snow Maiden”. In the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe he is known as Father Christmas. In the Netherlands and Belgium he is known as Saint Nicholas or “Sinterklaas” and in France he is known as Père Noël. In the United States we know him as Santa Claus.

No matter the name or who is delivering gifts, it is the season of peace, joy and togetherness. It is the season for thinking about loved ones, friends and those less fortunate. It is a time to witness the goodness and generosity the human race is capable of. It is a time for peace on Earth and goodwill toward man.

For some, this is not a season of peace and joy. Amidst the songs and lights, there's predators waiting to take advantage of the chaos of the season. And its these hunters that the Ghost Rider hunts.

Wheels of flame hug the roads and back alleys of New Orleans, all the caroling a distant perception, barely heard over the howl of the engine. Something about the highs of the seasons brings out the lows, and right now, its those that draw him like a moth to a flame, one after another.

The only Christmas fire Nicholas gets is his reflection in the eyes of damned men as he sees their sins, the ones they now need to live, buried under, until the day they die. And after each new litany of sins, there's another, then another - and so he rides.

Irina celebrated on New Year's as was the tradition in Russia, but she didn't wait to give her gifts to her teammates.

Argo got a DVD collection of the old Hercules and Sons of Hercules from the 50s and 60s. Lyta got new calf skin leather boots and a certificate to the spa. Eliza received a new leather jacket and a gift certificate to the spa. Harmony got a gift certificate to Amazon and to the spa.

Nicholas would find a bottle of the best Russian vodka and a bottle of thirty year old scotch in his room when he got back.

"Who wants honeycakes?" Corey asks coming out of the kitchen.

The lyre for Argo, the little weaponsrack he'd made Irina, the 100%-recycled material notebooks and day-planner for Lyta, the hat and gloves for Eliza, and a print of Titian's "Bacchus and Ariadne" for Harmony.

Nicholas, well, that that clumsy little sign for his business could be improved upon, and it is.

Argo had given Corey his gift earlier, and had been at quite a loss as to what to get anyone else, so had simply gone with gift cards.

His brother, Andy, received a barrel of Olympian wine.

And Harmony...

Argo had never been in a relationship that had lasted longer than a week before (few lasted longer than twenty-four hours, truthfully), so he had been most lost here. But after some consultation, he had arrived at the perfect gift.

He sought her out.

Harmony still wasn't sure her gift for Argo was good enough. Everyone else had been pretty easy. For Corey she bought a llama for a village in his name. Irina got "small batch vodka of the month" club. In the large bottle size. Lyta got shoes. Assorted giftcards for everyone else because she didn't know quite what to get, but Argo...Argo's had been tough.

She was sitting on the bed with the package in her hands debating on if she should give it to him, or just toss it and try to come up with something else.
