Sloper Wedding!
She'd gone from hyperventilating in a brown paper bag as her sister rubbed her back to feeling like she could fly. Without a broomstick, of course. Brianna clung to Zach's arm as she watched their friends begin to jump onto the dance floor of their seemingly spur of the moment wedding. She had felt awful about not being able to share all the excitement, but knowing that there weren't going to be any photographers jumping out of bushes, and that their wedding photos were going to be their wedding photos was absolutely worth all the stress she'd endured.

"I'm glad you showed," Brianna said teasingly, leaning into Zach's side. What a fit that would have been had if he hadn't figured out that the wedding was in June and not July. Brianna's logical side was sure that she would have said something before the day, but her frantic, sometimes uncontrollable side still wanted to knock his head off for putting that fear into her head. What a boyfriend, she had.

What a husband, she had!

The thought made her smile though and she kissed Zach on the cheek, taking in a deep and happy breath of excitement.

Bertram!

Bianca talked a really big game and she could usually back it up. The second Bertram had told her about the wedding, she hadn't been able to stop talking about it, and how a night out without having to change diapers or get spit up on was just what she needed. She loved Aaron, she loved her son more than Bianca could ever have imagined, but he was tiring, even more so than her job as a hitwizard----which said a lot. So she'd been very excited about going to the wedding, but the moment they'd handed Aaron over to Bertram's mother, her tough exterior and begun to crack.

Now past the cocktail hour, Bianca was nervously waiting for the right moment to slip out of the crowd and floo his mother to check on the baby. This was---it was her first night not being with him, what if he forgot her? How good was a baby's memory? What if he lost all sense of routine she'd sort of developed in him? What if he started to like Bertram's mother more than her?

She was about to make her escape when someone tugging on her elbow. Bianca whipped around to face Bertram, her guilt-ridden face more than obvious to read. She blushed,

"I wasn't going to floo your mother." Bianca forced herself not to pout as she accepted that she'd been caught.

The problem with what Bianca said after he caught her elbow was that he'd just been going to ask her whether she was really that underwhelmed by the wedding. He blinked, arching a brow at her.

"...well, that wasn't what I would have jumped to first. Exactly why are you flooing my mother?" Bertram was trying very hard to be a good best man at the wedding; unfortunately, that meant not drinking much at all and simply worrying about everyone else around him. Bianca had seemed so excited about the evening that he had been sure she wouldn't be one of the people he needed to fuss after.

Apparently she was, though.

He supposed that if he thought about it, it was probably something to do with Aaron - but Bertram was confident in his mother's ability to take care of children and they were only going to be gone for one night.

Oh. Maybe she hadn't been caught. Bianca straightened her shoulders and moved to straighten Bertram's tie. He looked very handsome all dolled up, and his almost sour expression reminded her why she had been so excited about coming tonight. They had earned some time for themselves, and here she was ready to go home and cling to her newborn.

Not that it was a terrible thing to do, of course, but. Her boyfriend deserved some attention, too.

"I was going to check in on Aaron," she admitted, instead of dismissing the topic completely. Her eyes stayed locked on his tie, however, feeling somewhat embarrassed that she hadn't made it very far into the night without her newly instated maternal instincts taking over. "Almost feel guilty about leaving him, and Amissa too, is that ridiculous?"

Bianca often felt like she knew all the answers, but when it came to children and babies, she was completely clueless and would always turn to Bertram for his expert advice. And she'd trust his words, too, because he'd done it on his own for so long that he knew better than most how to deal with...well, everything that came with being a parent.

Well, she'd been caught now. Bertram arched his brow at her, thinking. The first time he'd become a father he'd been forced to be separated from his daughter because he'd have to give Amissa to his mother to take care of during the school year. He'd even had to keep her a secret, so he supposed that he was used to the idea of being away from their children.

"It's not ridiculous," he started, "I'm just a little used to it, that's all. You have to start trusting them to be away from you. They're not going to forget about you, either -- especially Aaron. If something was really wrong, mum would've flooed by now." He grinned, giving Bianca's hand a squeeze. "So don't worry about it. How about we get you some shrimp or something?"

He was right, or at least she figured he was right. His mother would definitely have contacted them by now if something was wrong...but what if something had happened to her and Aaron was completely on his own right now and needed help? Bianca forced the crazy thoughts away before she agreed to go get some food with Bertram, hoping that taking in the night would help keep her mind off things.

Except it was a wedding. With a happy couple who loved each other very much, and their darling little baby boy. Bianca had felt a great surge of femininity after she gave birth to Aaron, so everything about tonight was so beautiful and lovely, and it just reminded her that she had her own bundle of joy back home and that she loved Bertram and then a whole big circle of emotions started and---

She really, really needed to stop thinking so much. Bianca allowed Bertram to lead her to the shrimp and other delectable food, and let out a whistle of approval,

"We'll have to get the name of their caterers." Because to make a display of shrimp look like a work of art meant that the chefs behind it were out of this world.

"I can definitely ask Brianna. I'd ask Zach, but I'm sure that he doesn't have any idea who he hired for it." In fact, up until recently he'd been told that the wedding was next month ... so there had been rushed stag parties abound. He was glad to hear that Bianca was taking him at face value; she'd been doing that a lot more lately. It was refreshing to have her take him seriously. He was the supposed 'more experienced' out of the two of them, or that was the way that Bianca seemed to see it - which was more or less the opposite of the majority of other situations.

He picked up a few shrimp from the masterpiece and then looked around. "Do you want to have a drink? It might relax you a little." Or at least put her in a better mood. He'd have to refrain from drinking himself, but he'd promised Brianna that he wouldn't have a drop so that he didn't end up streaking through the party naked.

You did something once and people assumed it would happen at every wedding. Pah.

She hadn't had a drink in ages and gladly accepted Bertram's offer of one. What could one hurt, really? Or two, and a third would really not be a problem, Bianca could absolutely handle her alcohol, but whatever they were serving certainly packed a wallop.

Her shoes had been taken off about four drinks ago, but Bianca couldn't recall where they were. Bertram had to excuse himself for some best man duties and pictures, and it just seemed that every time Bianca ran into someone she had not spoken to for a while, they offered her a drink to toast, took a picture, drank the drink. What a cycle, what a party! Really, if the room would stop shifting to the right every so often then they'd all be set.

"BERTRAM, we need to dance!" Bianca let out, grabbing her boyfriend's hand and pulling him away from some bird in a big white dress. Wait! That was the bride, and Bianca made a quick turn back to hug Brianna quickly and tightly and squeal about how excited she was about everything before she went back to tugging Bertram to the dance floor. Her arms swung sloppily around him and Bianca wondered why her knees were wobbling.

"You're so cute," she purred.

Bertram had to admit that when he'd ducked away from Bianca for some best-manly tasks, he hadn't expected to come back to a girlfriend that was completely smashed. At least she wasn't thinking about the children any more, and she did seem to be having fun (even if he was pretty sure she would be regretting this in the morning).

He laughed, giving a helpless shrug to Brianna before letting Bianca drag him away. He put his hands firmly on her hips so that she wouldn't a) fall down or b) wiggle away from him. "Ah, you finally figured that out, did you? I knew that eventually you'd fall for my dashing good looks."

Bertram closed his eyes for a moment, attempting to remember whatever levitation spell he'd been forced into learning in his years at Hogwarts. If he had to carry Bianca home, it would certainly be easier with the aid of a few spells.

"Finally?" she let out in a much louder, shriller voice than usual, "Did I not just give birth to your son? Hmm?"

Bianca smiled though, moving her shoulders and hips back and forth in an exaggerated slow dance, even though the music was quite fast paced. She just liked looking pretty with Bertram, being out with Bertram, just being with Bertram, and it was nice to be in love with someone. Even though that someone had never told her that he loved her, of course, but Bianca could feel it. She knew that Bertram loved her, it would just be nice to hear it once in a while. Or even once.

She scrunched her nose and pulled herself closer, letting out a great breath,

"And if I fell first over your good looks, do you think it would've taken us---" Her eyes rolled to the ceiling to count the months she'd kept him out of her knickers, "--five months to shag?" She looked astounded at this idea, and dropped her gaze back to Bertram, "Why the hell did you stick around if you weren't getting shagged?"

Honestly, he'd had difficulty answering that question to himself for quite some time.

He smirked, letting Bianca move as she pleased. "I had a hard time with that one for a while. I think it's because you actually treated me like an adult and believed me when I said I was sorry about things."

That had been the main problem with Franzy, hadn't it? They'd both been a little too young to do anything serious, and he'd had a hard time understanding her. Bianca was much simpler ... not in a way that made her stupid, but in a way that was much more logical to Bertram.

"Besides, I was sure that if I tried to leave you would stun and hex me," he teased.

Will grabbed his wife's hand as she tried to get up once again, "Juliet will rip your head off if you interfere, Anneliese."

He tugged her back down into her chair and kept his gaze away from Rhys, away from Juliet, and away from even more familiar faces that he did not particularly want to be around. Sloper had been his teammate, so it hadn't taken much to get Will to accept to come, but he felt out of place in the crowd of happy people. Not that he wasn't happy with his own personal life, it was everything outside of his family that had his head spinning.

His place in the world was one of great confusion to him. He was no longer a death eater, but he had fought on the side of those who had ended the Dark Lord's reign. But...Voldemort had put him in the auror position. Will had sometimes felt so overwhelmed by the pull of emotions that he just shut himself up in the office for hours upon hours until forced to go home.

So--this was supposed to be a good night for him, and he didn't need Rhys or Juliet's antics to ruin it for him.

"I wasn't," Anneliese stated, frowning as Will began to pull at her wrist. "I was just... going.... to..." She struggled for a moment, unable to think of a quick excuse. Oh, who was she kidding? Whether she had to go to the bathroom or not, she still would have slipped over to try and talk some sense into Juliet before Will had noticed her absence from their table. Darn! Puffing her cheeks out at him, Anneliese let out a sign before letting her husband succeed in pulling her back down to her chair.

"Fine," she responded, crossing her arms as she allowed herself to plop back into her seat. This whole Juliet and Rhys thing was just so ridiculous! It drove her insane, and she couldn't just disassociate like Will was very good at doing. They were her friends--- well, kind of. Why did they have to be so strange? Either break up or get back together, it was that simple! Obviously they did not want to break up, or else neither of them would go through all of these charades to get the other to notice. It was like their secret goal was to drive her up the wall with confusion and anxiety!

Letting out another sigh, Anneliese turned in her chair to look at Will. Well if she wasn't allowed to fix the Notts, then she needed something else to be distracted with for the night. And sitting here would do no help. She stared at her husband expectantly, waiting silently for him to notice and completely unaware of his internal uncertainty.

It had been a long time since she had stood in the same room as her estranged husband. How long, exactly, Juliet couldn't be bothered to recall, but she was certain that it had been entirely too long.

Not that she particularly pined for Rhys Nott on a regular basis... No, it was because she knew that when she did not keep regular tabs on the man, he too often ran off and did something idiotic. Like gallivant around England pretending he didn't have a wife and children back in Paris (a home he had chosen, against her most errant protests), and begin to think he was a much freer, much more powerful man than he realistically was. Begin to think that Juliet had no control over him, being so far away, and as a result he could say and do whatever he pleased.

Well, she knew far better than that. That did not mean, however, that she didn't believe in punishing such stupidity and selfishness.

Allowing her date's arrogant little French hand to sink down to her knee in plain view, Juliet made eye contact with Rhys from across the room for the umpteenth time that night. She raised her glass from the table and smiled pleasantly despite the gag she barely held back at the sight of the slag he'd brought as a rebuttal. It mattered little that she knew she had come up with the better plan of action--that did not mean that she could not be slightly nauseated over his attempt, however inferior.

She would have to remind herself to find that woman's address and properly punishing her at a later date.

Rhys really didn't even completely remember what got him and Juliet to this point. Not this point, in a social standoff, but the point to where he hadn't seen his technical wife in over three months. That wasn't very normal. And it wasn't because he hated Juliet (well...), so... why exactly was this happening? He had little time to contemplate it, because the matter of the fact was that he was in the heat of battle, and nothing was about to make him lose his focus. Juliet would want him to reflect to weaken his offensive front, which was not going to happen.

So therefore his date was a woman he had known from the Ministry. Her name was Catherine Kruger, and what Juliet didn't (or maybe she did) know was that it had been well established in the office that dear Catherine had former always enjoyed his company, always laughed at his jokes and always offered to eat lunch with him. Of course, neither of them wanted anything to do with each other, but Juliet didn't need to know that.

Continuing to completely ignore Juliet, Rhys rested one hand over Catherine's shoulder while holding a drink in the other. Cool, calm and collected, that was what he was. It was a necessary state to accomplish while the pre-fighting was taken underway. No need to exert the big arterially until it was necessary. Juliet would steam all she wanted, but everytime they made eye contact Rhys made sure to to exude nothing but indifference.

He was good at that--- displaying one emotion on his face while feeling another. For example, a random passerby would never guess that he was actually planning Lefèvre's gruesome execution in his head once all of this was over.

"Est-ce que ton mari?"

Juliet was drawn back into the moment by the heavy voice next to her, which--why was Matthieu speaking in French, she had strictly prohibited French from being used in her presence, it was such a stupid language--"Là-bas?"

Annoying. But this was no time to look upset with the man who was supposed to be her perfect date, and so she continued to feign a smile while sending the idiot a pointed look. "Yes, you could say that," she responded, pronouncing the English slowly as if she were speaking to a small child. Really, on any normal occasion, she would not consider associating with such an inferior human being, much less bringing him to a party on her arm. If there was one thing that she and Rhys could heartily agree on now, it was that Matthieu Lefèvre was indeed just as bad as he had always said. Not only embarrassingly stupid (well, truthfully most people were when you were Juliet), but far more bold and full of himself than he rightfully should have been.

Case in point--at that very moment, Matthieu cracked a shit-disturbing smirk in her direction and grabbed up Juliet's hand, pulling her out of her chair and across the room before she had a chance to realize what exactly was happening.

Not that it was a problem, in the end... But really, he was just so French. She had hoped for just the smallest bit less hand-holding out of the whole situation, if she had to choose.

"M. Nott!" he called, waving down his co-worker. "Ca fait longtemps!"

Well, at least she seemingly had to do little of the work here.

Was Lefèvre trying to get himself beaten? Rhys watched with a stone cold expression as his coworker proceeded to not only drag Juliet across the reception area, but also call out to him, in French, with as little class as Rhys would expect coming from a Frenchman in English waters. He wasn't sure what angered him more, the fact that Juliet had stooped to bringing this... thing as her date, or just the mere presence of Lefèvre himself.

An uncontrollable twitch began in Rhys' left eye as they approached, and it took a lot from within himself to not get up and plainly hex Matthieu in the face. That was how much he hated this man. Nothing to do with the fact that he was touching Juliet, oh no. If he wanted to have the risk of getting his fingertips burned off, Rhys had no problem with that.

Well.

Rhys made it a point to completely ignore Matthieu once he and Juliet finally approached their table. Instead, he rose with Catherine, pulling her close as he deadpanned at Juliet. Keeping Catherine's identity in the dark to Juliet was as important as possible. Rhys was no idiot; he knew what Juliet was capable of, just as she did him. Well, almost. He was certain she had no idea about his death eater status... but that was neither here nor there.

Instead of speaking, Rhys simply chose to continue to stare at Juliet intensely.

Ooh, wasn't this quite the reception?

As good of a front as Nott put up, Juliet did believe that she knew the man fairly well, and his intense look paired with silence was all she needed to know that her choice in date had rightly bothered him, as intended. Whether it was that he was with her or that it was just him hardly mattered--the whole point had been just to disturb his contentedness here in England, which she felt confident she had done to some degree.

Juliet gazed back at Rhys with the same sort of deadpan look, partially because looking away would mean a lost game and partially because she was trying to avoid the disgusting sight of the blonde slag he had just pulled tight. There would be time for punishing that one later, and she needn't torture her eyes with the sight of her undesirable visage now in order to do so.

Seeming unabashed by Rhys' less than warm greeting, Matthieu continued to smile pretentiously, also shooting an admiring glance at Catherine. "Madame, I don't believe we've met." Oh, now he was suddenly so fluent in English. "I am Matthieu Lefèvre, enchanté."

Ugh, honestly.

Juliet used the excuse of Matthieu's current preoccupation to slide her hand out of his and crossed her arms over her chest in a casual manner, although feeling anything but casual at the time. Well, if Rhys was going to be entirely silent, this would not do... They had things to discuss. "So, I trust the children are doing well?" she finally said. "I do hope you have someone watching over them, as I see the nanny has come along with you."

His cold exterior broke once Juliet spoke, Rhys being unable to hold back letting out a long huff. Really, that was what she was going to start with? His date looked like a maid. Any woman could be a maid, their occupation did not rise or sink there level of attractiveness. In fact, Rhys knew of many a men at the firm that throughly enjoyed the looks of their family maids. But they weren't there to talk about Matthieu, now were they?

"They lack the presence and necessary nurture of their mother," Rhys responded, choosing to ignore her side comment. He was not here for petty side stabs, only event-changing statements accompanied by side glares to a select other in his presence. "Tell me, do you even remember what they look like?" He spoke in such an innocent tone it was nearly believable. Like they weren't setting up their pieces for the potential full-battle blow out.

"Their names, perhaps?" Rhys stood stiff, doing his best to ignore the creeping emotions within him that sprouted once he saw her. What was this? Surely it could not be relief, or pleasure in the sight of finally seeing her. How long had it been, exactly? While he had never sat down to think about it, he and Juliet had spent a great amount of time apart from each other in the past months--- more than they had ever experienced in their relationship.

He blinked, finding these feelings annoying and unnecessary. There was no time for them, he was in a mind field right now and losing was not an option. Refocusing, Rhys too crossed his arms over his chest, paying no attention to Catherine or Matthieu, only Juliet.

Juliet nearly cracked an amused smirk at Rhys's retort. Nearly. But not quite... that would do no good, after all, to be the first to show emotion in this conversation, even if she did find what he was saying rather funny, all things considered.

"Ah, but didn't you just say not a month ago that I should never see them again?" she asked innocently, cocking her head to the side. "With such a dismal mother, Evan and Aemelia" --she pointedly included each twin's name-- "cannot be lacking so much with you, can they?"

Although amusing that he chose to contradict himself, Juliet could not help but still feel bitter in the slightest about his earlier remark. The both of them knew that he would not manage to handle the children alone long-term, and vice versa (well, without going insane, that was)... Which was why she had sent the children in the first place to be with him for a while, once she had realized that he was not intending to come home. To threaten that he would somehow gain full custody was silliness, but undoubtedly had struck a nerve that she could not quite explain.

Well, it wasn't as if they were terrible. They were her children, after all... Oh, honestly, this entire situation was stupid. She didn't entirely understand why he would not just give up and come home and resume normal life, as they knew it had to be. She would not admit that she enjoyed their normal home life or anything... of course not, but... it was comfortable, or... whatever.

Rhys opened his mouth, intending to speak, but soon forgot what he was going to say. Suddenly, he felt very over this conversation. While he always enjoyed exchanging witty side remarks with Juliet, this was different. There was no... it felt very flat. Perhaps because neither knew what the end result of this situation would be. For the past many years, there had never really been a threat of them truly breaking apart, but this was much different. They also had children, which complicated things.

Well, not really. They were just being used as pawns in this scuffle between him and Juliet. If it did happen, Evan and Aemelia would grow up to be perfectly capable regardless of whether he and Juliet stayed together. But--- for the first time, Rhys seriously contemplated what his life would be like without Juliet. Pain-free, yes, and not to mention ridiculously less aggravating, but. But they were-- let's be serious, they made each other. No one else could seriously put up with them, let alone be in the other's presence for even half of the time they maintained. So---

The thought of being away from Juliet permanently not please him?

What? Wait. What?

This was news.

Unable to deal with this sudden realization, Rhys exhaled a couple of small huffs, wildly looking down at his hands, running them down his own chest in a lost manner. What? His cold exterior had effectively broken. His hands lifted from his chest, one running through his hair as the other pressed to the front of his face. His pride would just have to jump up his own ass and die for the night, wasn't it? Dammit! Damn damn damn dammit he hated her.

"Fine," Rhys muttered, pressing his hand tightly over his eyes. He could not manage to look at her when he said this. "You win. I was wrong to leave." Fuck, all shreds of his manhood were just shriveling up and dying now. It didn't help at all that he kind of believed what he was saying, either.

What a stupid response. She didn't even have to listen to it to know that whatever came out of Rhys's mouth was going to be stupid, of course, because most things were. He never said anything in arguments which was not idiotic, which is why she always won, except for those few times when he caught her on an off day, which could hardly be counted against her when---

Wait, what?

Wait.

What?

She had almost missed it, she had been so ready with her next jab. She had almost missed what he had said, mouth open already with a poison dart poised on the tip of her tongue, just waiting to strike back, but--but he...

Juliet was nearly certain she had just heard Rhys tell her that she was right and he was wrong, which was... accurate, yes.. which she should have been happy to hear, yes, but... What was going on? Never before in any fight that she had engaged in with Rhys Nott over the past many years had he ever, ever admitted defeat. No, they just didn't do that. When they didn't win a fight, they stormed off and didn't speak to each other, not stood there and just owned up to it. In fact, she was sure that the reason he had run off and stayed away from her in the first place was at least partially because of that aspect of their relationship... which admittedly was fairly frustrating, and which she had admitted to herself during the long months was a very foolish reason to allow yourself to lose contact with your technical husband, but to just actually come out and say it was---

Merlin, she felt dizzy.

There had been very few moments in Juliet's life that broke through her carefully maintained walls of sarcasm and snarkiness, and almost all of them thusfar had for some reason had to deal somehow with the man in front of her. Somehow he was the only one who could say or do something that left her completely stunned and lacking a cool comeback, and he had just done it again, right when she had least been expecting it.

Could you honestly hate someone for basically apologizing? Because Juliet was certain that she had just found a way.

Frozen in place, staring at him intently, her fingers dug into her arms nervously, her whole aura confused and uncertain in that moment. "I--" she struggled, "I---ah, I... see, then." Oh, this was so very uncomfortable. "Then I suppose you... would not mind me seeing them?"

That was right, deflect back to the children. Because this situation had already gone far too much into the two adults in too short a time.

Huh? Rhys dropped his hand from his face in shock, looking just as confused and uncomfortable as Juliet did. Wait--- why wasn't she berating him? Making fun of him for giving in so easily? Attempting to chop off his balls to hang for all to see? He did not understand. What... exactly was happening here? He did not like it.

He shifted his perplexed look from Juliet to Catherine and Matthieu, who had continued their conversation as if they had not been listening. They might not have, and they seemed perfectly fine with each other. What--- was--- happening? Rhys blinked rapidly, finding the room and atmosphere incredibly hot and bothersome. Holy fuck.

So if she was going to go along with this, then he supposed he had no choice to but as well from here on out. Even though... technically he started it. Which felt strange, because Rhys hadn't felt like he truly had. Either way, he wanted nothing more than to leave, move on, and never speak of this moment again.

A smoke! Where was-- Rhys began to pat down his front, looking almost desperately for his pack. He knew he had purposely put them in here knowing how much Juliet hated them--- once his hand finally wrapped around the pack, he remembered he had to say something to her.

"Ah--" Rhys stared, looking confused as his gaze jumped every which way. "They--- are... at my brother's," he spoke jerkily. "We can go...?" He could not finish that sentence, Juliet would just have to figure it out on her own.

Good, so he was out of his element as well... Good, good. As long as they were both acting out of the ordinary, there was no issue with it, right? Well, there was, because it was annoying and uncomfortable, but... there was no way they could make fun of each other, and that was the most important thing. If she had to hear about this again from him in the future, Juliet might have killed herself on the spot.

Despite how awkward it made her feel, she watched Rhys as he fidgeted around and finally pulled out a pack of cigarettes, in that moment not really caring that she had long ago demanded he drop smoking as punishment for getting her pregnant (well, also for the twins, but mostly for her suffering). Hell, she could use one too right about then, as she certainly needed something to bring her head back into reality and sense.

As he spoke, Juliet forced herself to focus on his voice, nodding stiffly a couple of times, not even thinking of how little she desired to see Theo. No, the only thing that mattered was to get away from the reception and out of this strange air and go... home and be normal. Because honestly, she wasn't sure how much more of this torture she could take.

"Yes, I-- let's go, then," she said softly, already stepping forward as she spoke. An awkward near-afterthought, she reached out to grab Rhys's arm as she walked past, and ushered them both out of the reception area as quickly as possible, not a word to their former companions. It did not matter. She just wished to leave.

Kobe was living on such a rush these past few weeks! Not only had she gotten her own little desk at work, but Jonas' album was such a success that she couldn't help but be happy and hyper like---all the time.

ALL THE TIME!

She was so happy to receive the wedding invitation because not only had she followed Brianna around like a puppy during her first year (okay, maybe years) at Hogwarts because all of her cousins were in Gryffindor!!! So it was so exciting to see her friend and prefect and teammate get married and it was just so nice!!!!

"These cupcakes are SO good!!" Kobe let out, after she finished swallowing her third one. She should probably leave some for the other guests, right? These sugary treats were probably helping the gigantic rush her life was on. Kobe let out a happy, happy sigh and plopped herself down on Jonas' lap, grinning madly before kissing him and, "Oops! Frosting on your lips!"

She'd attended more than enough weddings for her sister alone to get excited about the events, but Katerina found that if she attempted to upstage the bride with her outfit, then that would be enough to get her through the evening. She had caused a bit of a fight before every one of her sister's seven weddings. It was just so much fun.

Sloper's wife had gone with what Katerina called a very basic dress, so her leather skirt and corset top were more than enough to attract the eyes of the single men and the not so single men. This pleased her, and while she'd forced Heathcliff to 'officially' be her date for the night, Katerina was constantly keeping an eye out for a suitable partner in crime.

As much as she liked to protest to her parents and sister that she was an independent woman who wanted to settle on her career, Katerina was finding that her work ethic was simply not cut out for the high-strung life of a solicitor. Maybe finding the right husband to keep her steady for life was the right idea...but would she quit her job? No! Never! She had a point to make, damn it.

Katerina contemplated the rather depressing thought of being stuck in her ministry cubicle for the rest of her life when someone uttered an 'excuse me?' She had been standing in front of the dessert table, not-so-gracefully eating chocolate truffles. She twisted to face the interrupter with her nose upturned. "Hm?"
