[Chase stared at the parallel bars set up in front of him, his wheelchair pointed toward one of the open ends of it. He was supposed to be waiting for a nurse or some kind of spotter before doing this but the Crow couldn't stand being in the damn wheelchair a moment longer. He hated being helpless like this and having to rely on others for so much of what he used to be able to do on his own.

A glance at the door and he put the locks on the wheels, grabbing both bars as his feet set on the ground. It felt odd, the floor under his bare feet again and Chase looked down at them only to give a rueful laugh. They looked pale and weak, but he hadn't lost much muscle mass in his legs which was something he was thankful for. His arms he needed to tone again what with not being able to lift weights because of his ribs. At least he could do that now in his wheelchair, the doctors said his ribs were as good as new again but to lay off doing any squats with them for a few more months.

But he dallied long enough, hoisting himself up onto his feet and pushed up with them as well. Immediately they started to give, knees buckling and hurting. Chase bit back a curse and pulled himself up again, arms shaking with the effort but he managed to support his weight long enough to lock his knees. Even if he was panting with the effort.]

Ha... This'll be longer than I thought...

	[Of course he's okay, being around Allen always helps Chase in some way. Whether it's calming him down or just little moves like that, reminding him that someone is there with him. Can take some of the stress, worry, etc. He cracks a weak little smile and shifts further back on the bed.] Think ya ken help me lift my legs up here on tha bed? (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[His smile widens slightly, but... he doesn't like how weak this has Chase right now, just the walking he's done in a single day... he should have gotten Seren on his own.]

Yeah... of course I can.

[And he does - reaching down to carefully lift Chase's legs, one hand at the knee and the other hand at the ankle, one at a time until both are on the bed.</i>]</small>

[It's not so much weak or tired this time as it being difficult to do with Seren as big as she is and being in his arms. And besides, if you had gotten her Allen you would've scared off the nurse (it's the nice one at that) and you wouldn't be getting to sleep with Chase and Seren again.

He shifts a bit further into the bed and then lays back, Allen has enough room to climb up beside him or up the end of the bed to rest on the other side. Depends on which shoulder is the bad one.]

	[Sob. That's true. He does kind of miss getting to curl up with them, even with platonic feelings towards Chase. It was nice when they did-- comfortable even, to doze with those two hearts nearby. Unfortunately the good shoulder is on the other side, so Allen walks around the bed instead and kicks off his shoes and cloak before crawling in under the covers.] (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	[Their opportunity to catch up is now at least! And at least it makes it easier for Allen to fall asleep with their two hearts, if not as quickly as it is for him to sleep with Lavi's. 	[Definitely does~ Twice the white noise, it almost adds up properly. Pausing a little as Chase shifts closer, watching for a moment before he scoots himself over so that they're closer. 	[Chase sighs a little and slips out of his shirt, she's not going to let go.] She's had naps with me before in tha infirmary. But this is home. [It's different, man, even he knows that. But he settles her down carefully, making sure she has enough room to be comfortable but not enough room that he can't feel her there. And then he settles down himself, nuzzling into the pillow.

He kind of wonders if Chase still wanted to talk about that thing from earlier.. but now that they had Seren, he probably didn't.]

[Chase hums softly, understanding the concept well enough. He's wanted to be home so badly just like this again for so long. Pretty much after the first three days when he realized (or that it sunk in) that he wasn't going to walk away from this immediately.

He wants to, but he'll just make sure he wakes up early enough that he can talk to Allen while the nurse is getting Seren ready. Still, to make sure Allen doesn't leave...sliding his arm around the other's waist, closing his eyes so he won't see Allen's expression.]

[It's.... nice. So nice. Allen missed it a lot more than he realized... curling up with him in the hospital didn't compare to this at all. The bed was comfortable and warm, and with Seren there...

For a few minutes, Allen could close his eyes and pretend they were a family. That he wasn't still hung up on someone that didn't want him, and that Chase... did want him. Would always want him.

Allen stiffens slightly, only out of surprise, eyes widening, though of course Chase can't see that. But after hesitating, he half-lays his arm over Chase's, and settles down again.

...Yeah. Like this, it was very easy to pretend.]

[She was always elsewhere when Allen came or asleep. There wasn't room either for the three of them like there is in this bed. To her it's almost as if that week has come back and she's happily sleeping between her father and uncle.

Chase does... In a way. He just wants things back to normal if he can't have what they both want. And they're always family, it's more like "Two and a Half Men" instead of a normal family. ... Wow. They are like that. :|a

He can feel the stiffening and for a moment he's tempted to pull his arm back, wondering if he had gone too far. Then Allen's rests on top of his and he lets out the sigh he didn't know he was holding.]

[ffff, Seren. ;; He's so sorry for making it seem that way. Out of the three of them, she's probably the one that he wants hurt the least because of this.

He knows, in a way, but that's... part of the paranoia. What if he gets together with Chase, and Chase wants him to move in? Or, worse... what if he says yes, and then Chase doesn't want him anymore? Allen doesn't know what to do. Are they really? I've never seen the show. 8|a

Allen keeps his arm right where it is, and starts quietly humming Seren's lullaby. Come on, you. It's bed time.]

[Hey, she'll take anything she can get. And she's happy for what she's got. Hasn't complained once since that week was over.

Chase would tell him that he could whenever he wanted to take that step but wouldn't pressure or ask him to. And if Allen moved in, Chase would always want him. When he and Aiden had a room together they were...well, hardly ever in it. So while he loves having Allen around, again, he's not going to ask or pressure. Because that's one of those steps forward that ends up in the pit.

lol Yeah. Chase is the dad with the kid that lives in his brother's place, and the brother is a total womanizer. In their case there's no living together but Allen does go around a lot?

Chase relaxes, Seren already dozing and falling deeper asleep with the passing seconds. He'll follow her minutes later, murmuring Allen's name softly.]

[She's the best little girl ever. Allen feels awful that he can't give her the family she really deserves.

He really should move in. Then he could... actually be happy. Maybe. It'd take time, there's so much wrong in his head right now, but.. it'd be a hell of a lot better than how things are now. He doesn't deserve the patience that Chase gives him.

Pffff, that is kind of fitting, in a way.

He pauses in his humming long enough to whisper "'Night, chase" while the Crow is drifting off - and then he's back to the humming, which he'll keep up for awhile.]

[She loves the family she's got.

Chase might insist on sleeping on the couch after the nurse leaves, at least for a while. Just because of those self imposed boundaries. Chase's patience is just for Allen and Seren, he doesn't have it for a lot of other people. ...Well, Bike gets it only because he's important to Allen and "must not blow up his head".

Chase drops off into sleep a few minutes later, his arm tightening around Allen's waist and pulling him closer but not suffocating Seren any.]

[Thanks for that much, man. Allen would need to start drawing a few lines himself if Chase blew up Bike's head. That wouldn't fly very well. ...you know he'll feel bad stealing the bed from Chase. :|

Allen shifts just the slightest bit closer as he's tugged, the humming continuing. But by the time the nurse needs to get Seren ready, he'll have drifted off into a light doze, listening to their two hearts.]

Narrowing his eyes at the nurse again. >| Resisting the urge to hiss and keep the little girl there. But he's distracted by Chase pulling him closer, freezing up again, going stiff. But... he's only like that for a moment before it melts and Allen wraps an arm around Chase in turn, curling against him.]
