1) Her first words to him were: "This kind of crap is supposed to happen to Metropolis!" This is because their first meeting was because of a Starro attack on Gotham.

2) After the attack, Michael helped coordinate the repairs in Gotham. Maxine would come downtown to volunteer, and they ran into one another again on their respective breaks.

3) They flirted on occasion, but they never got serious. They enjoyed themselves too much as friends.

4) Whenever Michael said something stupid, Maxine would punch him in the arm. Only once did Michael say something completely offensive around her. It ended up with Michael having a black eye and Maxine covered in a vicious goo.

5) After the goo incident, Maxine and Michael didn't talk to each other for a month. What ended the month of isolation? Another alien invasion.
