I'm feeling a little bit gay right now. Am I the only one? I think it's the weather... such a lovely day, isn't it?

Speaking of... Sam, do you still need help with your Transfiguration homework? I've just finished doing some reading and got naught to do right now, so I wouldn't mind helping. Chilly weather makes me generous, you know. Doesn't last long, though, so you should take advantage.

And how amazing is it that Professor Babbling has a friend offering an apprenticeship on Curse Breaking, in Rome? I overheard her talking to some students after class was over and well, I didn't hesitate to show my interest, if only for the experience; I've never been to Rome! Except for that one time when I was like 3, but that hardly counts. Besides, Rome would be the perfect place to get started on that book I want to write, don't you think?

It's hardly generalising when it's the truth. First Finch-Fletchley, now you. Who's next? Jones remarking about the sky being blue?

C'mon, Morag, how is that the truth? Two people acting similarly isn't reason enough to poke your finger at an entire group of people. Or three people acting similarly, for that matter, if Jones does get an itchin' for pointing out the sky being blue.

If it's so clearly easy for you to get a port key, anyway, why do you care about some apprenticeship in order to get you there? I've been to Italy a couple times.

Actually, if we're going to get technical... I didn't point any fingers at any group, did I? I just said you and Finch-Fletchley were pointing out the obvious. When you speak about more than one person, you speak in plural. And last time I checked, both of you were in Hufflepuff house; hence why I wrote Hufflepuffs. Basic knowledge, Summerby. Wouldn't do you any harm to learn some.

And why the bloody hell is everyone assuming this is only about the trip? Has it even occurred to you that I might actually want to pursue a career in curse breaking?

Metaphorically speaking, I saw a little finger point in there. You were so generalising, don't be stubborn. Sure, we're both in it, but I mean... let's say you were Chinese, Morag. And you had another friend who was Chinese, and you both ate a cupcake, it wouldn't be nice of me to walk up and say, "You Asians sure love that dessert!", would it now, miss?

They're assuming because that's all you wrote about. I admit, I figured if you were that into the actual career of curse breaking itself, you wouldn't have just gone on about the grand experience of going to Rome.

No, it wouldn't. Because Chinese people don't quite like being called Asians, if you didn't know, so that would be extremely rude of you. And do not call me stubborn.

What would be the point, exactly, of me saying anything else? It's nobody's business if I'm excited about this opportunity or not.

Then stop being stubborn; you're saying it wouldn't be offensive if I replaced Chinese with Asians in that remark? That's rubbish, it'd still be rude, and it's still a good back-up to my argument.

Easy, breezy. No one is making it their business. You didn't gush about what an amazing opportunity it was career-wise, you just talked about travel; so you can deal with the assumptions people come to.

Shut up, I am not stubborn! It's hardly a good argument when it makes no sense. Comparing this to ethnicities is completely ridiculous.

Or, better yet! How about people bugger off and mind their own business? As said before, this concerns no one but myself; whether I'm doing it for the right reasons or not.

But you are. It makes perfect sense; except in one scenario, people are being grouped together by race, and in another, by house. Either way, it's superficial and a sure case of generalising.

Don't get upset 'bout it, Morag. We're just saying you don't have to go through a lot of trouble to get to Rome and start your novel thing.

Perhaps in that deranged little brain of yours, it does.

Your vocabulary astounds me, really. I'm not upset and it's not a novel thing. Who do you think you're talking to?
