Somewhere in Egypt
Gbadu and her followers gathered outside a small unknown temple in the desert near the ancient site of Akkaba. Inside one of the ancient temples the mutant known as En Sabah Nur lay in a state of suspended animation. Today they were here to awaken Apocalypse and unleash him on the world.

Simon just nods, thinking this really wasn't what he'd ever expected to do but...things needed to be done. He keeps his hands free and ready to snap when given a go ahead.

Still, working with the X-men was awkward to say the least.

Angelo is fatiguing slightly from ferrying Alpha Flight, and now his own contingent and... others, around, but he's not about to let it show. "If any of you need to be elsewhere in the fighting, signal me. I'll be staying at a small distance so I can stay visible, and keep lines of sight open to all of you."

Be very careful., rings out nervously in Gio's mental direction, more an intense feeling than words.

Gbadu felt the approach of the intruders and a sudden sandstorm kicked up. It swirled around the gathered group as if to keep the intruders out.

Just perfect...not only do they have to fight ungodly beings, they had to deal with a sandstorm. Etoile closes her eyes tightly, and places her hand up to shield her face...this isn't going to do her any good.

Good thing she was wearing a scarf and had a pear of her cybernetic sunglasses on hand. Her scarf went over part of her face and sunglasses on, she pushed down most of her body weight on her bo staff...if the winds got worse she'd need to grab on to someone or something!

Now, Gabriel would have make a smart comment, but he didn't want to get sand in his mouth. He just scowled and covered his face, and the rest of his body, with his wings. This was a job for Rachel. Well, Shane too. If Shane could superheat the sand into glass with his electricity, Gabriel could cut an easy way out without making the whole thing collapse on them.

That said, Gio could superheat the sand with electricity as well.

Rachel took to the air, creating a telekinetic barrier a few feet out to deflect the sand. A Phoenix emblem appeared over her eye as she channeled more power to keep it up.

"Not going to be able to keep this up forever..."

She had to touch Andrew again, hands burning, before she really got into the action. But once she did... Gio went in blazing, appearing behind some of the cultists and grabbing them with the bio-electricity flowing. She didn't tend to run out, but she knew here, she might. Still, she had to give it all she had. If she ran out, she had her knife, if need be.

Etoile was dealing the another group of cultists. She had to split her Bo staff in two, as she started to knocking down cultists after another.

Fred used his enhanced leg muscles to leap into the fray, drawing the attention of some of the cultists. He backhanded one before leaping again. A kick in mid-leap connected with the face of another as he came down. He snarled, fangs elongated and eyes more catlike as he grabbed another and threw him another into another pair of cultists.

While those two jump into the fray, Simon stays back with his snapping. He aims at the space not far in front of the cultists' faces. Because sometimes there was nothing better than throwing a literal explosion in someone's face.

Rikki turned her density up significantly, becoming rock hard and incredibly strong. She lashed out with a punch at the nearest cultist.

Sengai drew some of the ambient energy to himself, creating a green whip. He ran at the cultists, attacking with quick strikes.

Andrew knocks a few more people aside, setting his sights directly on the ritual and working his way there as fast as possible, keeping an eye out for who is around him.

Gbadu focused on the ritual, but she could sense people approaching her. She reached out with her probability powers and would cause Andrew to have incredible bad luck as he approached her.
