Characters: Brian and Open Setting: Sunday Morning, outside the dorms in the Commons. Rating: SFW Summary: Brian's trying to figure out the best way to get into the dorm after watching another student enter it with snot covered hands. He doesn't want to catch a cold, but there are cold germs all over that door. He can feel them, even while standing a whole 15 feet away. The other kid had been sneezing and wiping his nose with his hand between coughs and hacking for most of their walk from the library. It was a miracle, even, that Brain had managed to get out of the library; thankful that the doors always seemed to be open as he followed the boy from a safe distance. But the dorms? That was a whole other issue. There was this process that had to take place to get in them, and on top of that? You had to touch the walls and doors to get through and then there was no telling where else those germs lurked in the confined spaces of the dorm hallways and rooms. Brian could feel his heart start to race as he tried to make himself go up to the door, and before he'd taken five steps he'd found himself turning on heel and running back to a safe distance. It was just pathetic, those whole inching closer and running away. He could only imagine the snickers and jokes being passed around by anyone who'd taken notice of his predicament. Scrubbing the back of his head, he stared at the door again, this time with all the determination he could muster. Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes and took one valiant steps forward. He could do this, after all. He only have to step through it three times. Then he could go hide in his room for the rest of the day. If he could just get through the door. Alex woke up Sunday morning feeling as though someone had replaced his stomach with a black hole. He was starving, and if he didn't get something to eat soon he was going to... well, he wasn't sure what he'd do, since he didn't really think there was anything even remotely edible in the room.
Groaning, he rolled and pushed himself out of bed, scrubbing his face as he sat on the edge of his bed for a moment. Taking a deep breath, he stood up straight and stretched, yawning as he did so. He shuffled over to his dresser and pulled out a pair of jeans and a long sleeved knit shirt. He changed lazily before putting on his shoes, grabbing his hoodie and heading out the door.
He hardly paid attention as he made his way downstairs and only really looked up when he was approaching the door to the dorms and he stopped and stared at Brian for a moment. Pushing his hands into his pockets, he continued walking, leaning against the door to push it open and quirking an eyebrow at his roommate.
"Forget how to use the door?"

Great. Just....great. Alex was staring at him now, and Brian had but one choice- lie. It wasn't really as if lying could get you in trouble in cases like this, anyway, and he and Alex had been friends for a while. Or sort of friends. Actually, Brian wasn't really sure what the status of their 'relations' were, most of the time. Generally speaking, though, he thought of them as mostly friends.
Even if only by circumstance.
"I am not bound to please thee with my answer," he quoted softly to himself, before shaking his head vigorously at Alex.
No, he knew quite well how to use the door, but there was the minor details of getting to it that caused him great trouble.
