Alex just... stared at Brian some more. The kid was weird, that was for sure. But he always had been, so it wasn't that big a deal. Besides, it was more amusing than anything else.

He rolled his eyes, stepping through the door completely and then purposefully bumping into Brian. "Come on, loser."

And without pause, he kept walking, expecting Brian to follow him.

Brian stared at the door for a moment after Alex collided with him, unsure of what had just happened. He was used to being called a 'loser', but...right.

"Okay," he said, letting out a sigh of relief as they after the germ infested door behind. For now he could focus on what was straight ahead of him.

"Where are we going?"

Come one, Brian. You know Alex at least doesn't mean it. It's how he shows he cares.

He smirked a little as he heard Brian coming after him. He knew his roommate would come with him. He glanced back over his shoulder. "Food. I'm starving."

"...You slept through meals?" Brain looked almost horrified for a moment, before his brow knotted up. So where were they going to find food, then?

"If you found the house elves, I'm sure they'd make you something." Yes, that was an acceptable idea.

Otherwise they'd have to go...

Alex just shrugged. It was Sunday. He never cared what time he got up on a Sunday. "I guess."

He shook his head. "I want to do something different. Let's go get some food in town or something."

"I don't think we are allowed off campus until we are older," Brian said flatly. He wasn't going to argue rules, really, but he didn't want to get expelled either.

"Can you order food? Besides...there are a bunch of muggles out there."

"So?" He looked back at Brian and raised an eyebrow again. "We won't get caught."

Alex just rolled his eyes. "Again... so? What are they going to do to us? They're harmless."

Brian was so sure of that, but Alex was sort of the boss. At least, he usually kept them out of trouble, so he was there by deferred to in all cases like this. Even if Brian thought it was crazy.

"How are we going to get into town?"

It wasn't like they could just...walk.

Alex liked Brian. He listened, he didn't argue too much, and he just kinda did what he was told. But he did question. A bit too much sometimes.

"Bus? I think I've heard some of the muggle-borns talk about it."

They'd find a way, Alex would make sure of it.

The....bus? Was Alex serious? Brian stopped completely in his tracks.

"Bus?" He'd heard about those too, and they sounded horrible. "What about bicycles?"

It was hard to miss the obvious discomfort in Brian's voice, so Alex paused as well, and turned to his friend.

"Yeah, bus. Do you have a bike? 'Cause I don't."

"....no." Which was just troublesome. "Are buses sanitary?" Because he wasn't getting on it if it smelled like pee.

And a lot of New Orleans buses smelled like pee.

Alex rolled his eyes. Honestly. They couldn't go anywhere, could they? "You don't have to sit down if it seems unclean to you."

So annoying sometimes.
