She moved easily and happily right onto the dance floor with him, smiling as she went. "No way. You're never this dressed up. You look so handsome, that it's... it's kind of distracting. I'm going to have to beat other girls away with my purse."
Rowan really did think he looked incredible like this. Keegan in formal attire was something that she would never be able to get enough of. "I look passable. You look amazing. I love that vest..." Her hands went up around his shoulders as they moved onto the dance floor with a slower sort of song playing.
All Rowan got in response was a look that said 'I guess so'. Though, he did have to verbally correct her on one part. "I don't think you'll have to beat anyone away, Ro. But thank you." At least his discomfort was well founded.
Her outfit, though, had nearly stunned him the moment he saw her come down from her dorm room. "Passable my ass. You look..." there were several times his mouth opened and closed as he attempted to find the right word before he just gave up and smiled. "I can't even find the right word for it."
"Well, you never know. At least I'm prepared if that's the case here." She gave him a smile, her eyes twinkling in the reflected light from the tree. She was in such a good mood.
"Well, thank you. I can't pull this stuff off, but it feels good to dress up like this. I think I look alright. Kind of pretty. You look incredible, though." In all honesty she thought she looked fairly good. Not nearly as good as he thoight she did, but ok. Rowan's opinion of her looks was never as high as Keegans. She figured he was just flattering her, being her boyfriend and all.
Considering that he had yet to convince her, Keegan was well aware that she didn't think she was as pretty as he knew she was. So, he conceded that night with a roll of his eyes and a, "Yeah, yeah."
His attention to the people around them as he made his grip on her waist comfortable. It was time to make a change in topic. "So. What are your plans for Yule?"
She took his concession as a bit of a minor victory, considering that he had to be flattering her, and shifted the topic right along with him.
"Yule? I was kind of hoping to attend Marnie's celebration. Other than that... well, dad said something about wanting to celebrate this year, but not really knowing how. We're not letting mom decorate or anything, but it would be nice to do something. What are your plans?"
"Marnie's definitely having one, but I think she's doing it earlier in the day. Then last year, at any rate." That was always a part of his plan. Keegan was pretty sure that he'd never missed being at his Aunt's celebrations except when he was sick.
"Plan on going to that too. But my parents also told me to invite you and your family over for dinner. If you weren't doing anything else, that is."
Rowan had come to love attending Keegan's aunt's holiday celebrations. Not the least of her reasons being the fact that she was with him, and something good always happened to her that day. Either there and then, or later on. There was no reason not to look forward seeing Marnie for any sort of festivities.
At the mention of the invitation, Rowan smiled. "That would be... really cool, actually. I know we're not doing anything that night, and I know that Dad wanted to try and do at least something. I'll let him know tomorrow and he can call your parents for the official acceptance or whatever. That would be great!"
Keegan nodded. "Sounds good to me," he replied with a smile as they continued to move idly on the dance floor. He wasn't sure to expect from that particular dinner. He had to hope his family wouldn't do something stupid.
"I will warn you, though, Marnie won't be there. She's doing her own thing that night." Rowan seemed to like his Aunt a lot, so he thought it was a good thing to mention. "Instead we'll be having Ken's new girlfriend."
"Aww boo, alright. I'll have to get her the gift I have for her before I guess. Or try to. If you're going to see her, maybe you could drop it by for me?" Rowan had a penchant for knitting gifts for the holidays, each gift tailored to the person she was making it for. She spent a great deal of time on these, and hoped that they were appreciated by their recipients.
"Ken's new girlfriend, huh?" She was intrigued to meet the girl already, as Rowan was always curious about things that were new. Also anyone who would willingly attach themselves to Keegan's brother needed some support to draw from, so Rowan hoped she and the girl got along at least. "When did that happen? What's she like, do you know?
