Jenny
|
There was zero time for her to react, and give any warning, just like every other time this had happened in her life. She was already gone, her body convulsing on the floor, moving like there was an electric current jerking through every inch. Her eyes were closed, but the lids fluttered rapidly. One hand repeatedly pounded on the floor, soundless against the booming music. It would be sore tomorrow, badly bruised. She wasn't even aware when Ella was literally shoving people out of her way, and dropping down onto the floor beside her sister, wasting no time in turning her body around, getting her into the proper position, doing everything she had always been taught to do if this happened.
She was sweating badly, occasional small grunts escaping her, her lips smacking loudly after every senseless noise that she made. People were staring now, realizing what was going on, backing up and giving them room, but still staring. Some teachers were trying to make their way through the throng of students, excusing themselves as needed, and rushing to the scene. It felt like it went on forever, and just when it seemed like she was done, a semblance of consciousness came to her.
Her eyes were open, just barely slits, staring up at Ella, like she didn't even recognize her sister. Unknown to her, some tears were escaping from the corners, slipping over her cheeks and dripping onto the floor under her. Her face felt cold against the floor, and she looked shocked, maybe scared, mostly confused. She barely moved, looking like someone hardly clinging onto life. The music had been stopped, and the silence seemed deafening. Teachers were just reaching her now, though they stood back, giving the twins their space, knowing that Ella knew what she was doing.
Slowly, in a croaking whisper, Jenny spoke;
"The abominations are loose... loose.. they're loose."
Without missing a beat, Jenny's eyes slid completely closed again, and the blonde girl's lips turned up into a wide grin. Completely unlike herself, and completely chilling. Strange, and more than a little cruel looking. Somewhere in the audience of staring peers, a girl gasped loudly in response to seeing it. Jenny reached a hand up, the one she had been beating on the floor. It was shaking badly, but she managed to try to make a reach for Ella's cheek. "I hunnnnger. Need... flesh, blood, bone. I hunger for manflesh. Bone and bits of meat... I thirst. So close now."
Then, she was gone again. The grin left her, the reaching arm dropping away like dead weight, hitting the floor beside the rest of her crumpled body. In the otherwise silent dance, it was as loud as gun fire.
And that was how the Snowflake Ball of 2010 concluded.
