Re: Lisette/Quinn

Shrugging and then nodding in agreement, "Yeah, I guess." She didn't want to sound like a total idiot, so she offered a pleasant smile. "It was nice, though... the kiss." Oh, good. That wouldn't make anything awkward now, would it?

"I know, I just... I'm not a real party person, I guess." Not to mention the fact that the only people she'd managed to talk to were a boy who had been trying to spy on her at her home hoping for a voodoo show, and another boy she was definitely afraid of.

Talking to Quinn was a sight more up her alley these days. "You're Quinn, right? I think we had potions together as Freshmen. I'm Lisette... do you... remember me?"

Lisette/Quinn

The smile that spread over Quinn's face when Lisette said that it was nice was stuck somewhere between predatory and playful. That sort of comment was the kind that just encouraged her, not that she needed a whole lot of encouraging in her present state.

"Well, some people just prefer smaller and more private parties," she replied with a small shrug. Quinn preferred them herself, but she didn't shy away from something bigger, either.

Quinn nodded, confirming that she was who Lisette thought. "Yea, we did. And yes, I do remember you. And you're prettier than I remember." Age usually change someone's appearance, and it was just as likely due to the fact that Quinn was more hormonally driven than she was as a Freshman. Either way, her filters had disappeared three drinks ago.

Lisette/Quinn

Lis gave a partial smile back, half shy, half unsure. She wasn't sure why, but the smile from Quinn made her slightly uneasy. But she had finally found someone interesting to talk to and she wasn't going to let a little uneasiness ruin her night.

"Yeah, I definitely do. I only came here to lose someone who was following me, to be perfectly honest." She gave a breathy chuckle and glanced back up from her cup, which she finally decided to hide behind her back. She was never going to drink from it and since she didn't know what was in it, she didn't want to offer it to Quinn.

If her earlier comment about the kiss hadn't made things awkward and embarrassing enough, Quinn had to go and say she was prettier than she remembered. Another nervous laugh left her full lips and she blushed hard. "Thanks." She wanted to return the compliment, but it sounded trite in her head. And her filters were still very much intact.

"Happy New Year." Wow, now that was lame. She couldn't for the life of her figure out why she was blundering so badly, but it definitely needed to stop.

Lisette/Quinn

"Happy New Year. And you're very welcome, Lisette." Quinn replied easily, despite the fact she'd said it a bit too loudly earlier. She was drunk enough to not really pick out the fact that Lisette was blundering. Which, perhaps, was a good thing for the girl. Quinn couldn't hone in on it if she wasn't entirely aware of it.

She didn't miss her comment about someone following her, and Quinn's face took on a bit of a surprised look. "Following you? Well that's not good, darlin'. Picked a good place to hide. Didya lose them?" Not that it was really any of her business, but if there was a creepy stalker type that followed Lisette into the party, Quinn wanted to be aware of it.

Re: Lisette/Quinn

Lisette sensed the concern about her "stalker" from Quinn and she shook her head, wanting to nip it in the bud before something got out of hand. "Oh, he's just one of the kids at school, he was hoping to catch me doing some voodoo ritual or something, I guess. Some people get off on watching animals drown after being possessed by a spirit." She shrugged slightly, "It's no big deal, I confronted him once we got here and warned him about the gators and my dad. I don't think he'll be a problem again."

She tugged at the sheer black tank top she wore and glanced back up at Quinn. "You want another drink or anything?"

Lisette/Quinn

"Ah, gotcha." Must be a pretty weird kid to go following someone around in the hope of seeing some ritual. "Well, if not, you can put some of that magic to use and try it out on him." Quinn gave a small shrug.

At the mention of another drink, however, she brightened. "Always." It was rare the girl ever turned down an opportunity to drink. With a smile, she lead the way towards the kitchen.

Re: Lisette/Quinn

Lisette set the concoction she'd been given on a random surface as they moved on their way to the kitchen. "Yeah, I could for sure work some hoodoo on him." She grinned as she stepped into the kitchen with Quinn and glanced around. She'd been in here a bit ago with Vinnie and had only had some juice cocktail.

She decided to have a beer. The night was almost over and a single beer wasn't going to affect her much. She perused the offerings and then reached for a Smirnoff Ice. "Can I just say how much I'm not looking forward to going back to school. Three weeks off is just not long enough."

Lisette/Quinn

Quinn returned Lisette's grin with her own as they stepped into the kitchen. Everything looked so much more spread out than it did the last time she was in there. Then again, it could also be because her vision didn't quite follow along with the movement of her head very well.

As Lisette went on her own search for something, as did Quinn. She plucked a bottle of something up and went to open it. It looked like one of those bottled vodka drinks, and she was about to find out. "It never is. Winter break isn't long enough, summer break isn't long enough. Just got to make the best out of it, I guess."

Lisette/Quinn

Lisette nodded. "Yeah." She nodded and took a drink of her first alcoholic beverage of the night. "Did you have a good break? Was your Christmas nice?"

She leaned one hip against the counter and shifted her weight to one foot. "Mine was alright. Pretty quiet." She shrugged a bit and glanced out of the kitchen to the rest of the crowd, moving when other people hustled in for more drinks.

The conversation was starting to get awkward, and with a drunk Quinn she wasn't even sure the girl would remember it the next day. And besides all that, Lisette was running out of things to say. She'd been on her way out earlier, hadn't she? She was starting to consider leaving once more.

Lisette/Quinn

Before Quinn answered anything, she opened up the new bottle and took a rather large swig of it. It was good enough. "Quiet is good. Mine was... not quiet, and I spent a lot of it staying with a friend."

It took only another swig of her alcohol before Quinn realized, a bit too late, that she had previously reached her limit. That extra little bit didn't sit well with her. "Hey," she managed to slur enough as she set the bottle aside and pushed away from the counter. "It was nice catching up, but..." deep breath here, "I need to go lie down."

Lisette/Quinn

Lisette nodded sympathetically and gave her a small smile. "Sorry to hear that. I mean, it's good you had a friend to stay with, though."

She frowned slightly when Quinn practically turned green after the first sip of her new drink. "Are you..?" But she didn't need to finish her sentence. Quinn said she needed to go lie down and Lisette nodded. "Of course, can I help you into a bedroom or something?" She put her own drink down on the counter after only a couple of sips to keep herself available to help.

Lisette/Quinn

Help was the sort of thing Quinn wasn't necessarily fond of unless it involved a partner in crime. Then it wasn't so much help as people performing a task together. She remained quiet for a moment as her sluggish mind determined whether or not she could actually make it on her own anywhere at this point.

"Uh, yea." Came the final answer. It was better to have help than to attempt it on her own and end up falling somewhere. Quinn didn't really trust her own feet. "The closest horizontal surface with padding will be fine."

She was really only certain of one thing: Anastas was going to end up having to carry her out of here later.

Re: Lisette/Quinn

Lisette put her drink down and reached for Quinn's arm. She took a good hold of her and led her toward a couch. It was miraculously unoccupied, so she helped Quinn to lay down. She pulled Quinn's hair away from her face and leaned down. "Is there anyone I should call or ... will you be okay?"

Lisette/Quinn

Quinn naturally latched a hand on Lisette as she was being helped into another room. More for balance and stability than anything else. She almost flopped down onto the couch. The fact Lisette bothered to brush her hair back surprised her, and she found herself looking up at the girl. Well, as well as she could when Lisette was rather blurry.

"Yea, I'll be fine." Quinn managed to smile a bit. "Just need to stay sitting for a while. Thank you."

Re: Lisette/Quinn

Lis gave her a small smile and nodded. "Okay, take care." She turned to walk away and then reached into her handbag and pulled out a pen. Turning back to Quinn she crouched down and scribbled her phone number on the other girl's wrist. "Just in case... you can call me. I'll come help you. Okay?"

Another small smile and she stood up again. "G'night, Quinn." She stepped away and melted into the crowd.
