"Damn straight," he said with a jerk of his chin, smirking slightly. "The toughest cops around."

Wow. It had been such a long time since she had been so smitten with a boy. "You make it hard not to swoon," she teased.

She snickered again. "So true," she agreed. "Except I don't think I could convince this particular monkey to wear a tux even for a dance," she laughed.
