Keegan/Rowan

It never failed. As his arm went around her waist, she felt the lightest of chills up her spine, and found herself leaning in to him ever so slightly. She smiled at the kiss, her eyes moving to look in his direction as she prepared to turn and look at him when he moved back, only... he didn't.

The words he spoke gave her that wobbly feeling in her stomach, and a slow warmth spreading over her skin, mostly on her cheeks. If Keegan could have a superpower, it would be to make her blush at a moment's notice. Well, one of them. She found herself smiling with the redness that came into her face, and biting her lower lip as she did so.

It was a moment before she replied softly. "I.. t-thank you. Y-you look rather good yourself, you know." For all the stuttering and the trying to not seem as touched and off balance as his words made her, the words were very much heartfelt.

After the words were spoken, he only hovered there for a moment before he stood straight again. His eyes stayed on her with a small smile, watching as she bit her lip. He suspected that she was blushing too, but it was more difficult to tell in the dim lighting.

"You're welcome, and thank you in turn, I guess." He chuckled a bit and a moment later, he finished off the small cup of punch. Keegan easily located the nearest waste bin and tossed the cup into it. "Once you're done with yours," he said and turned his smile back to her, "You'll have to grace me with a dance."

As she willed the fire in her cheeks to fade, she sipped on some more punch. When he turned back to her, there were only small round spots of color high on her cheeks, and even those were fading fairly quickly. She finished the rest of her punch without rushing, but fairly quickly since she felt a little warm now.

"I think that there's no time like the present for that." The music was enthusiastic, and there were more people coming in by the minute. The dance would probably be in full swing in a relatively short time. All Rowan could really think about, though, was the smiling blonde before her. Tonight was going to be a very good night.
