Akio, upon hearing her voice and invitation, headed through the kitchen door. After closing the door, he glanced around to make sure she didn't need any cleaning help, smiling to himself as he did so. He walked over to his mate, then wrapped his arms around her gingerly. "Ro," he said in greeting. "I didn't hear any breaking, so I assume we're in the clear," he teased.
He stepped back and, placing his hands on her shoulders, gave her the once-over. "How are you?" he asked, knowing her so well, he knew there was something on her mind. There was something on his as well... catching up was in order.
He gave her a smile before sitting himself at the table, watching her.

Rowan figured honestly, that he was a guest in her home, so it was her place to take care of refreshments and such. With her mother as... flighty as she was, Rowan had begun to take on the role of hostess whenever the situation called for it. She was just the responsible one in most situations in her home, so it was almost expected sometimes. Not that this was a formal occasion by any means, but she played the role of hostess for all her friends who came over. And she didn't mind in the slightest.
Sitting at the table with Akio, she went to make her own coffee, inviting him to do the same as she started talking. "Well, let's see. I've got some advice to ask of you for my... anniversary with Keegan next month..." saying the words was a surreal experience for Rowan. She still couldn't believe they were dating, let alone for almost a year, and let alone the myriad of things that had happened over that period of time.
But what he said made her grin wryly. "Yeah, uh huh, ok. What's going on with you?" sounding like she wasn't going to take no for an answer.
