Way beneath the surface of the Atlantic Ocean in the underwater kingdom of Atlantis the dead were rising. Lids were pushed off of the sarcophagi in the royal crypt and in a small cave some distance from the city.

First there was watery blackness. Water churned inside and a moment later the lid of the sarcophagus blew off and smashed into a wall.

The decaying corpse looked around and saw nothing but darkness. The water churned again and the doors to the
crypt were pushed open and light filtered in.

Memories came in like the tide. Atlantis. Her father. Tyler. Ty. "My love," she thought as her mind reached out for him.

Mera sat up next to her and mother and daughter climbed out. A shadowy figure offered them black rings. They accepted them and put them on their fingers.

Cerdian's eye opens, and he does not question why his other eye is missing. He opens his mind to the darkness and searches for...yes. There.

"Others must join us as well. Those we left behind must join us in death.

It is the only way the world will ever know peace." Cerdian says, rising from his coffin.
