Way Down Below the Ocean....
Caitria of Atlantis, RISE!

Mera of Atlantis, RISE!

Cerdian of Atlantis, RISE!

Ataam of Atlantis, RISE!

Way beneath the surface of the Atlantic Ocean in the underwater kingdom of Atlantis the dead were rising. Lids were pushed off of the sarcophagi in the royal crypt and in a small cave some distance from the city.

Dolphin took a step towards her husband. "Garth, my love, join us. Join me and your son."

"Yes!" Cerdian yells as his mother's heart turns to ash in his hand, from being absorbed by the Black ring. He can see his father's rage, his love, his fear as though it was a beacon calling to him from afar.

However, Atlantis is not the only target that Cerdian has. No. His true targets lay on the surface, likely rutting like a couple of pigs in their own filth.

"Mother. Leave the broken mage to the ashes of this once-great city. We have other matters to attend to." Cerdian says, rising from the ocean's depths.

"Now to pursue the heart of the woman who never gave it freely." Cerdian says, heading for the surface at top speed.

Dolphin turned her attention from her husband to her son.

"Yes, sweetheart," she said. "We do have other matters to attend to.

I will return, my love." She gave Garth one last parting look before heading to the surface with Cerdian.

No father should ever outlive his child. No husband should be forced to live without his wife.

Lord Garth of Atlantis was now in the same position as Arthur. He was wholly alone, bereft of everything that made life meaningful.

"Arthur..."

"Where is the King?" Garth asks, turning to survey the damage to Poseidonis.

Arthur would give him aid, would come with him. They had to stop Dolphin and Cerdian before they could get too far.

Badly beaten, but still alive, Commander Cordia stumbled forward.

"The King...the King..." she could barely speak. "The King is dead, Lord Garth.

As declared by King Orion, if something like this should ever occur...you are now King, Lord Garth."

She paused, bowing.

"Lead us, King Garth."

Garth couldn't believe his ears. Arthur couldn't be dead. They were wrong. Someone...they had to be mistaken.

Garth could /not/ be king, not when all he wanted to do was find a dark place and lie down to die.

As everyone looks to him and kneels, Garth wants to tell them all to /stop/, that this isn't really happening, but he can't, because it is.

This is happening. The worst day of his life has finally come to pass. He is the king of Atlantis and he has nothing left.

"Commander Cordia, take stock of the living and the dead.

Then we prepare Atlantis for war and warn the surface of what is coming their way." King Garth says, his heart like a lead weight inside his chest.

Commander Cordia rose to her feet, nodding.

"At once, my King."

She summoned the rest of her troops, making her way into the ruins of Atlantis.

Nakesh managed to survive somehow, but most of the Atlantis military was gone. There was a large gash from his forehead across one eye and down to his jaw. The eye was ruined, but he hadn't time to put something over it.

He approached Lord Garth. "Lord Garth," he said with a polite bow. "We must all regroup in Tritonis and summon Queen Ash back. She is the rightful ruler per King Orin's wishes and Atlantis needs a leader."
