Paint It Black (JSA)
It was a quiet night in New York City. People went about their business, rushing on the streets to get home, hailing taxis to get out of the brisk winter air. At the JSA Brownstone, all was well and good.

Then something happened. The sound of shattered glass could be heard shattering, and alarm klaxons blared. The team would soon find that Black Lanterns had arrived, and were closing in on the team of heroes.

	That finally shocks him into action... too late. Steven staggers back, a hole in his chest, a look of absolute shock on his face. Then he blinks, hands coming up to the gaping hole. 	A black ring flew towards Steven. Steven Garrick of Earth. Ri- It fails, only to try again, failing once more. When Steven started to move again, the ring flew off into the night. Meanwhile, still holding her boyfriend's heart in her hand, Mickey looked frozen in place, not quite registering why he was somehow still alive. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Right, zombie. Not his girlfriend. In fact, a mockery of everything Mickey was.

He hurts - he apparently doesn't need a heart - its just speedforce like the rest of him, but convenient and comfortable to have. However, its still like most people losing an arm - they don't need it, per se, but having it torn off is still an awfully traumatic experience.

Still, he manages to fight through it - and shock becomes anger. How dare this thing do this to her, to him, to them, to Nic?

"How dare you?!" he snarls, rushing forward, trying to shoulder tackle her. As he does so, though, he's vibrating, trying to phase both of them into the nearest surface - floor, wall, doesn't matter.

At which point he intends to let go.

Once the shock that her boyfriend was not dead and with her settled in, Mickey threw his heart to the ground, turning her head over her shoulder to snarl at Cindy.

"Right," she snapped at her, "Because you seem to enjoy taking what's mine don't you? Nic was mine. You aren't getting your fat little grubby fingers on my boyfriend, you fat ugly little troll."

She threw up shadow ropes, fully intending on squeezing and suffocating Cindy, but she was knocked off of her feet by Steven, and the ropes that wrapped around Cindy vanished.

	Steven tries to focus through the pain. He's not going to be in any shape to fight much longer - but he has to save Cindy. He vibrates, trying to phase Mickey's hands through the floor, then let go. 	"Just because I'm dead doesn't mean that he still doesn't belong to me!" Mickey shrieked. "See, that's the problem with you Cindy, you see something and think it's okay to rub your dirty fat hands all over something that doesn't belong to you!"
