GK was nervous. They had of brushed against the subject before, but now...well, he didn't want to wait anymore. "So, Eli.... are you okay with getting lunch with Zoe?"

"She's wondering when her closet makeover is going to happen. All of a sudden I hear that she doesn't have a thing to wear when she's going out with Jed, and she doesn't even see him all that often." Zoe might've sounded a little exasperated, but Mom happy was what she wanted. Happy and not so focused on what her only daughter might or might not be doing with her free time. "AND she's applied for a passport."

GK leans his face against his hand, which is already wet from the condensation of his glass. He notices the makeup he puts over his scar coming off and frowns.
"I've gotta take a powder," he says. "Literally. Excuse me." And off he goes for a minute.
