Fears and deeper thoughts (Harry)
Jess wasn't one to share what she really thought about things. She just kept a brave and stubborn face because she thought if she pushed herself long and hard enough that it would all become true. Of course that still didn't change her waking up freaked out in the middle of the night from a nightmare.

She stumbled in the dark to the kitchen intending on getting a drink to calm her nerves. But as she was getting the juice the worst thing happened.

Big. Hairy. Spider.

She squeaked and dropped both the juice and the cup scrambling backwards.

Oh for crying out loud. It's just a spider. That she can't let near her. It's obviously evil.

"Well... I don't mind it if you try protecting me sometimes," she decides and sends him a slightly playful look.

He's still a little red but grins a little now, "I wouldn't mind either. Did you need any...protecting any time soon?"

"Maybe at that.... shindig fer Heather? There's gonna be all kinds of people there," she points out. Oh god she's trying to get another date.

Is she crazy?

Not crazy at all.

Harry's both pleased and a little surprised. But she beat him to the punch and he's saved the embarassment of awkwardly waiting around for her answer or rejection. "I'd love to! I'll be your getaway too, just in case," he jokes. And yes now he'll be ver happy for a good while that he's got a date with her. The smile is hard to contain.

Eventually she'll need to be asked out instead.
"That sounds great," she flashes him a smile and touches his arm in a friendly way.

He was trying this time. Although now he knows his next attempt has a chance at working.

"I'll pick you up at HQ?" He smiles, blushing slightly still, but clearly in a good mood.
