Into the Dark
The security guard led the Titans into what looked like a conference room. When inside, he removed a cigarette and lit it up.

"First off, thanks for coming. Second, you're not going to like how little I can actually tell you. Before you fly off the handle it's because I literally don't know, not because of confidentiality crap."

It's not long before they see a scene like something out of a horror movie. The "beating" is quite loud now, as the massive heart-like organism has covered most of the room with its crystallized substance. A security guard laid prone against the wall, but was breathing.

It was then a mostly metallic humanoid walked into the line of sight of the Titans, looking at them. "You hurt us," it said, as if straining to speak.

	Ruth is fine with getting philosophical with horrors, but would secretly be happier if Riley's words were a bit more ... UUA-approved, to be honest. But oh well. 	"We..do not know. We..have been..changed." Its words were somewhat clearer as it seemed to be getting used to the concept. "No pain, no destruction..life. We want life. 	The icicles pierced the monster's hide, but this one was clearly made of sterner stuff than the previous converted-humans as it powered through, clashing with Jay and Ruth. The noises cannons were somewhat disorienting to the monster, slowly its reaction time. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The small pierces were all that Cait needed. She changed the ice into water and forced it into the creature. It gathered in the middle of the creature and then Cait exploded the water outward in all directions. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The creature exploded from the inside as the water forced it's way out. The remains of the creature fell to the floor, motionless. Kardiak itself began to shift, its "heartbeat" louder and faster than before. The floor beneath it began to tear up as metal tubing began to force its way out. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Jay takes some hits and gives some - that's part of his job with the team, after all. The sudden explosions at very close range are a lot more of a surprise, sending him stumbling back trying to clear his vision of blood and ice chips. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Giant aorta-looking metal appendages emerge from the ground as the giant "heart" begins to hover under its own power, tentacles writhing. One of the appendages seems to change into some form of reverse cone shape. A sudden torrent of flame shoots out of it at the Titans. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
