The Calm Before the Storm (Open)
Maria finished up the report she was working on and shut down her computer. Another day working at Wayne Enterprise was over. It was time to go grab a bite to eat and then down the costume. Night was coming to Gotham and that meant its criminal element would come out. Maria grabbed her purse and coat and headed out of the building.

	Tomas is also getting ready for a night's work. He has his own rounds to make, investigating some of the leads they've started picking up on. Stopping the shipments was one thing - but there'd always be more thugs. Only way to really cripple the trade was to remove the money. Still, he needs to eat, and is already settled in with his food when Maria and Thomas walk in. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	Maria felt like she had a pit where her stomach used to be. Skipping lunch and getting stuck in rush hour traffic did little to help. Of course arguing with Thomas on the way over did help her get her mind off of her hunger. "Finally," she said as they walked into Maria's favorite pizza place. "I can eat a large by myself." He'd avoid the word 'arguing' and substitute teasing or just bothering. But semantics.

"If you're going to then you're paying for it by yourself too," he shot back with a smirk as he entered behind her. Naturally he takes note of the people in the place as they enter, too much training not too, and the giant (at least based on his estimate of the man's height) guy at a table was hard to miss.

	Thomas just looks at Maria, tilts his head, crosses his arms, and just waits for a response from her with a raised eyebrow. Because she clearly knew this man and if she agreed she owed him an explanation later or now, either way. This was probably the guy from the rumours most likely. He nodded and took a seat. Joy, meeting one of her flings, which meant playing nice really. "No need, but thank you," he smiled and nodded politely. He took one of the menus on the side, not because he needed to but just because it was something to do. "So how do you two know each other?" Sure he'd already heard rumours but it was interesting to see how they'd put it.

The amusement doesn't leave. With another, less self-assured man, this would be more fun. But it's been entertaining enough anyway. "Mmm, no she wouldn't have told you," he chuckled slightly. "Not exactly topics to encourage when meeting...people you don't find boring." He smirked slightly and then took his time putting the menu on the side before explaining.
