Karaoke Night
Maria's social life had taken a huge hit with the undercover gig and working at Wayne Enterprises. What social time she did have she saw Tomas a few times. She finally got a free night and it was time to pick on a favorite target. She called Jon and told him to meet her at her favorite karaoke bar and to bring his little sister and Alina if he were inclined.

She thought about dragging Thomas, but decided to give him a break. She could use the good karma later.

	Alina downs the rest of her drink at Jo's confirmation and sets her glass back down with a 'thunk'. She is definitely going to be devoured alive by Jon's mom. "Did you build up a tolerance to hot sauce, or does that fall under the whole 'indignity proof' package?" she teases Jon instead of expressing the other thought aloud. Jo watches and appreciates Maria's performance. Although she can't help but observe. "Literally speaking, that is a pretty good Faustian bargain, devil-side: instead of just bargaining after one soul, spread a little tarnish over a million, most of whom will probably spread the pain around. And, of course, if someone was literally willing and determined to do that-- sorry getting a little chatterboxy there. I wonder how much sugar they put in this. Anyway, Alina, don't look so nervous."

	Jon grins at Jo's assessment - easier than talking while Maria is going all out on her flirty songs, really. "Yeah, you'll do fine." he assures Alina. "Oh, I'm sure it will be," Alina says, shaking her head. "But I'm still the one going hi, I'm dating your son, to the woman who looked at the Big S and went yeah, I can take this guy in a fight over who's turn it is to do the dishes."

She points at Jon and Jo. "Your mother has whatever the female equivalent is to cojones the size of Texas, and being nervous about meeting her is entirely reasonable." Under the table, she hooks a foot around Jon's calf. "Fortunately, I like you too much to chicken out."

"I'll put my name in again, but I think they're drawing from a fish bowl," Alina calls after Jo with a laugh. She leans against Jon's arm, idly wondering if Jo speaks German or if she's just good at faking it.

She prods Maria under the table with her foot. "So how are you doing? I took the topic and ran with it before you ever got around to answering your own question."
