Treason?
There were times that she hated this job. This being one of them, but this came from the top. They couldn't afford a blow like this to the still relatively new JLI project. She sent a message to the Hall of Justice to expect her arrival.

Pippi catches the wrong bit of commentary in her passing through to see what was gathering so much attention.

"Something is unraveling?! I'll go get my sewing kit."

She dashes off again, probably leaving them with some time to address the issue without her brand of help, then Barbie can explain the situation.

Ms. Franklin just looked at Dex with a combination of annoyance and disgust before turning back to Lizzy.

"I suspect Mr. Palmer will be here shortly. As for Mr. Fang..he was deliberately misled regarding the importance of this meeting," she confessed. "He will not be here until a little later."

"Din is frequently around here somewhere," agrees a voice from on high as the grate of one of the ventilation shafts is flipped open and a tiny figure rappels down the wall, pulling it shut again behind him. He begins growing to his 'human' height part way down, and disengages the thread of a rope with a tug of his hand before tucking it away in one of the pouches on his belt. He nods formally to Ms. Franklin as he takes a seat.

She 'suspects' he'll be here shortly, does she? He'll find that bug, don't think he won't.

"A fair place to start, Ms. Queen." Alice opens her briefcase, pulling out a labtop. "We received word from the Chinese government. They're demanding Mr. Fang turn himself over to them on a charge of treason." She turns on the computer. "As evidence they have this footage."

The footage showed Xian speaking with what looked like Chinese government officials in a non-descript building. In an instant Xian transformed and proceeded to brutally beat the officials to death before turning toward the camera and throwing his staff at it.

"Did they indicate what methods they used to verify that this isn't the work of a shapeshifter or an illusionist?" Dinadan asks, steepling his fingers. It certainly seemed like unlikely behavior from Xian, but surely they wouldn't charge him without something other than security footage?

"The footage is real, Mr. Daly," Franklim replied. "As to whether the person in the video truly is Mr. Fang or not has not been 100% confirmed. However, the Chinese Consulate wants him to surrender to their custody until this can be either confirmed or denied."
