Tussle in Thailand
With some assistance from T.H.U.N.D.E.R., the team managed to convince the Thai government to allow them to follow the August General's lead to Proteus' location. The area itself was the suspected headquarters of a Malay terrorist group, so the JLI was advised to be on the lookout, as it was suspected Proteus may be working with the organization.

Yes. Yes it was. Dinadan entertained a brief fantasy of severing both of Dex's Achilles tendons.

"Micromax, don't," he said. "You're on look-out, tell me if you see anyone who looks like they might be running off to let their bosses know capes are here.

"Everyone else, we're on stand-by to make sure that collateral damage doesn't happen. Step in if they pull something fancy."

Which they might, there was something about them that made him suspicious. But if Dex was just dick-measuring against the local punks, he and his Green Lantern ring ought to be more than enough to take care of that on his own.

The thug went flying at Dex's punch. His comrades removed pistols from hidden pockets, considerably more advanced weaponry than street thugs should have. Figures appeared out the window's of several buildings, pointing assault rifles at the team. One thug seemed to head off in another direction.

Dex threw up a green shield to protect himself and his teammates. "Go after him!" he yelled. "I got these guys." A green machine gun formed and started firing green bullets back at the guys.

"Why do people keep confusing 'fun' with 'suck'? It's not as if the two are mutually exclusive." Petra sneers, (and maybe winks at Din), before she starts putting up ice walls to make sure none of the others can escape as well.

Dinadan missed whatever maybe-wink Petra had thrown his way because he was too busy diving at their teammate.

"WHAT THE $%&# ARE YOU DOING?!" he screamed, aiming a hammer-fist blow toward Dex's ring hand in hopes of at least making the construct dissolve. "THERE. ARE. CIVILIANS."

Barbie hit the right, targeted note, and at least one guman from a window would hopefully be experiencing technical difficulties. And possibly some broken glass.

"THEY FUCKING HAVE GUNS!" Dex yelled at Din. Idiot. Civilians or not, if they pulled a weapon on Dex, he was going to protect himself.

The machine gun construct dissolved and Dex formed a big green hand and grabbed Din with it. He kept the shield up to protect his teammates.

The team's efforts brought down several of the attackers. The retreating man Cian attempted to stop suddenly twisted and morphed so that a whole formed in his stomach, allowing the fire to pass through him harmlessly. He scowled at Cian once before he started to morph into a dog and began to tear down a side street.

Petra squares her stance and pulls back a fist. Ice crackles around her, and as she punches forward, a Volkswagen-sized blue-white fist flies at the... dog.

"We'll discuss this later," Dinadan snarled, shrinking down to escape the grip of Dex's construct. At least he'd stopped shooting around like a moron.

'They had guns', oh whatever, what bad guys didn't these days? Dex had a green lantern ring, if the only thing he could think of was to recklessly risk collateral damage of the surrounding people who weren't trying to kill him, Dinadan was going to bite the damn thing off his finger and use it himself.

The dog caught the fire and ice coming at him in his peripheral vision and leapt at the door of a nearby building. Starting as a dog, it morphed in mid-air into a man and crashed through the door of the house. A few seconds later a man was thrown out the window of the thankfully first floor. Proteus raced up the stairs to the second story window.
