Tussle in Thailand
With some assistance from T.H.U.N.D.E.R., the team managed to convince the Thai government to allow them to follow the August General's lead to Proteus' location. The area itself was the suspected headquarters of a Malay terrorist group, so the JLI was advised to be on the lookout, as it was suspected Proteus may be working with the organization.

Petra was standing behind him, one arm crossed over her chest, holding the elbow of the other. "I know you're mad because of-- well, take your pick of the past few hours.

I just wanted to... uhh..." She lets out a heavy sigh. "I just want you to know I understand, and there won't be any hard feelings if you.. if we're... if we're done." She lowers her head slightly, biting her lip.

"I am going to be king of New Morlaidh, Petra. A nation that currently has no political standing whatsoever because we've been buried in a jungle that technically belongs to Brazil for generations. We are trying to reach out. We are trying to make connections, we are trying to be recognized by the international community, and I am their representative. I don't have the luxury of mouthing off to hostile government officials and openly threatening to cause an international incident."

A little discretion. A little discretion from this stupid team was all it would have taken.

"I don't want to break up. I want to work this out. But I have responsibilities I can't ignore or compromise on. What you do with that is up to you."

Petra blinks, almost doubling back in the face of that resolve. She'd never thought Din was weak, but she'd never thought he was... this, either.

"I... I want it to work out too. I just... didn't think I got a say in it at this point." She lets out a breath. "Din, sweetheart... you know you're important to me, and..

I'm sorry. It's just how I am, how my family is, and I know that doesn't make it an excuse, but it's what it is.

I don't know how to deal with a relationship past the first fight, but.. I'd like to figure it out."

Now, if I may, I would like to suggest we table the discussion of how the relationship should go past the first fight after I've taken the time I need to calm down so that I can figure out how to keep everyone from being disappeared by a hostile government that we've already taunted. Is that acceptable to you?"

Because he really, really cannot have it now.
