25 July: It's My Party
Four different kinds of gourmet Macaroni and Cheese. Stacks upon stacks of different finger sandwiches, with the yards worth of crusts used to make a couple of heated trays of bread pudding. A pineapple-banana-pecan cake possibly bigger than the birthday girl herself. A small table of vegan stuff, just in case.

Cindy couldn't stop grinning at it. Had she found awesome caterers or what?

The band specialized in swing covers of hard rock songs, but could play just about anything. There was a dance floor. All her friends from school were there, dressed to the eights.

Of course, all Cindy's friends from school didn't really fill up the little reception hall. And she certainly didn't have a big family. But that was okay, more room for her ~~soon-to-be-colleagues~~ fellow super-brats.

And so she scurried, from arrival to arrival, for cheerful welcomes.

Cindy is surprised, but surprise can't last long against anger.

And the figure in the window freezes. Cindy's concentration is very direct on that figure, the one on the floor seems to be less The Problem. No one else should feel the compulsion as she continues. "Ifyouwouldbesokindasto drop everything and get on the floor."
And the figure starts to do so.

To the other figure. "Please don't move. I'd be very grateful if you told us the truth, please, sir: What are you doing here... and did any member of my family put you up to this?"

If this was Mom's idea of a birthday present, giving her a moment to shine and impress all her friends...people would find out. Her reputation would be ruined before she'd had a chance to market it properly.

"It's My party," she answer simply, before repeating. "I beg your pardon, but I need you to answer me honestly, sir. Did anyone in my family hire you for this?"

"No, no one hired me, just a job gone wrong," the man blurts out automatically, with a puzzled expression.

Cindy sighs with relief before suddenly, as she sees the man eyeing the floral decorations. "We'll thank you to refrain from using any abilities for the moment, please."

	Well, since the girl was away, he could fulfill his promise without much issue. Concentrating on the broken glass, it begins to reconstitute itself. lucky for Michael, there is no wood. Be careful of this one, young man. A party is not like a high rise building.

I was wondering when you would say something. A whole lot of help you were with the green guy. It hurt like hell when I tried to transmute those damn plants, Michael responded back through the Matrix.

A snicker on the other end was all he got back.

	Cait reacted and pulled as much moisture as she could from the air. Stupid air conditioning took a lot of moisture out of the air. Thankfully there was moisture in the form of drinks and Cait used that as well. She held the water and waited to see what would happen next. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
