Defeat the Kraken!
The Pacific Ocean just off the coast of San Francisco erupted in a spray of water and foam and a giant monster out of myth arose from the surf. The Kraken, a being of gigantic proportions, roared. He was free after so long. He turned and set his sights upon the city of San Francisco.

Vic could tell there really was nothing he could do to help that wouldn’t end up with him needlessly dead but he did think of one thing he could do to help.

“I’ll stay on shore and do some crowd control and hopefully keep people out of the danger zone,” Vic said.

The Kraken struggled against the bonds that were now holding him. The water pulled at him, but he only moved a little bit. There were juicy little people on the ground that he wanted to eat.

He had quite the appetite.

"Thanks Vic! Dinah, does the Bug have any weapons? If so I need you to fire them at him. They won't hurt him, but they'll get him angry. Then I want you to head toward open water and see if he'll follow. Getting him away from the city is the most important thing."

Cait used the water to pull at the Kraken but he was not moving.

Hearing that others are coming into firing range, Ty shifts tactics, slowing down on the blasts, but maintaining the water bonds, reinforced by Cait - instead, he charges ahead, extending both hands and slamming into the Kraken's chest at super speed.

Muggers in a dark alley? Nazi Bees? Bored housewives with nothing better to do but be super-villains? Saving the future by saving the past?

These were all things Dinah felt quite confident handling. Giant monsters straight out of a Kaiju film? No so much.


Still, the Bug was quite useful to have in this situation. "Okay, opening fire now."

The Bug's antenna rotated into position, releasing dual microwave blasts.

The Kraken roared his frustration and tried to escape the bonds they had him in. There was a sharp pain in his chest and he roared again. He was knocked forward a little. Then came the blasts from the ship and he roared again from the pain.

He felt something wrap around him and he struggled to remove it.

As the waves hit, the bug fires, and Ty begins pushing, he shifts to, well, grade-school tactics. A giant yellow trip-wire appears behind the kraken in the water as he continues slamming his fists into it, trying to force it back.

Sending waves at him was working for now, but it probably wasn't going to be enough. Iris spun her arms in fast circles, to send twin tornadoes at the kraken.

The Kraken roared and hated the flying little thing that kept causing him pain. He started to follow it while trying to swat it.

Cait released the water bonds and pushed the kraken with waves toward the mouth of the bay.

Interesting.

Ty bends time around the Bug, keeping it at least half a second ahead of the Kraken, no matter how fast it seems to be moving, while he begins focusing, building up a charge once they get it out of the main bay and he can cut loose a little more easily.

Iris began to run in circles around the kraken, to try and surround him in a giant whirlpool.

Dinah adjusted the antenna for rear-firing, darting this way and that but always out and away.

Cait kept pushing with the waves. He was moving toward the mouth of the bay and that was a good thing.

Steve's giant snake tried to coil around any swinging appendage, to keep the Kraken from doing any harm to anybody.

The others have it out of the bay where it would do real harm - time to see if history might have a useful lesson - Ty entrusts Steve, Cait and Dinah to keep its attention while he begins to cast. Normally he'd avoid using such magics on a living thing, but he's not seeing a lot of options here, and one of Circe's strongest areas of expertise is transmutation.

Ty begins to weave the energies to construct a spell to try and turn the kraken to stone.

Steve lets the water moccasin dissipate, and then leans back to rub his temples. His had was pounding, but he was glad everything was done.
