As they regroup, Sarah glances down at the Tallus, looking puzzled for a few moments.

"Alright... the Tallus is trying to tell me the next step. We need to take the sword to 'our place of greatest strength', and 'bring back what was lost.'" She offers the soul sword towards Quinn. "I think I'm supposed to give this to you."

	When they get there, Macendale takes a look at the skies. "N'Astirih must have seen us leave. Look at the sky!" And indeed it was the floating castle they had seen in London, and already winged forms could be seen departing from it. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Sarah nods. "I expected that. I've been working on this..."

Control and precision, really, are her problems. She has the Rogers' will - but she isn't a god, and hasn't had enough training. Usually, that's a problem.

Not today. She's not trying to be precise here. Not trying to aim a lightning bolt. Not trying to restrain the power of the hammer. She wants a storm - all the storm it will give her. Sure, they won't be able to fly - but given the numbers, and how many of the opposing forces are used to air superiority - she figures it should give them an edge.

Howling winds, lightning, roiling clouds, booming thuder - she'll take it all, for the first time ever, not trying to hold anything back and just letting Mjolnir's unrestrained power flow to the skies.

And indeed Sarah's storm has the desired effect as many of the demons were flung out of the sky while the stronger were having trouble making significant progress through it.

Standing on a perch, N'Astirh seemed unusually nonplussed by the weather. The grunts would maintain the appearance of an all-out assault just fine.

"We'll come in from the back. Kill the sorceror at all costs," he ordered to the collection of demons behind him.

"As you say, Lord N'Astirh"

N'Astirih cast the spell and the group was transported behind the Exiles' lines, while N'Astirih himself was transported elsewhere.

Much as she wants Quinn's power here, no matter how they limit the odds, they're going to be overrun if he doesn't undo whatever they did to get full access to the dimension, and the clock is running. As a new group of demons came forth, a pair of familiar faces lead the charge, the multi-eyed monstrosity and the huge, hammer-carrying demon from when the Exiles first arrived.

"This time I kill you, woman!" The large demon ran forward with the hammer, ready to strike Sarah.

The eye-covered creature said nothing, but sent a barrage of mystical energy blasts from each of its multiple eyes at the Exiles.

Dory, having fallen into the position not taken by Sarah or Gwenny, reflexively lurches a step in Sarah's direction when the hammer demon reappears. Fortunately -- or maybe unfortunately -- that step puts him in a position to intercept one of the energy blasts headed for Quinn. Hopefully, the slightly-reflective surface of his keratin body armor will deflect at least some of it.

	Jason continued to fire on the demon's trying to take some of the heat off Dory. One of the eye-demon's blast hit his glider, temporarily disintegrating it. Macendale hits the ground but he's up quick, manifesting fiery pumpkin bombs at the enemy. "Keep your eyes open! I don't see N'Astirh!" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Through the pain, Dory's glad that no one here has a reason to know Skrullos. They'll probably take his shouting as incoherent sounds of pain rather than the swearing that it really is. He wrenches up enormous double-handfuls of the dirt underfoot and pitches them both at the multi-eyed demon. He only just stops himself from following it up by throwing himself at it, but Quinn needs someone to keep him covered.

	Sarah's blow rings true, hitting the demon's gut, dropping it to one knee. The demon may have plenty of yes, but dirt in some still hurts. It hissed in its own tongue, trying to clear its vision. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The dirt was enough to buy Macendale time. He pulled out a pair of his razorbats and ran at the dsoriented demon. He leaped up at it. "Herrrre's Jason, asshole!" And then Macendale drove the blades into a pair of the demon's eyes. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Don't let them lure you out, strike, and back into formation, we need to protect Quinn!" Sarah reminds the others. Not that she's overly worried so far, but demons are tricky, and she's sure N'Astirh will try something eventually.

She sees the large demon drop to a knee, as she's catching the hammer, only to send it right back out, aimed for the head this time. She has to be efficient - even if more brutal than normal. There's plenty more demons where these came from.

	N'Astirh himself finally appears in a nearby tree. His hands move in a series of patterns as he quickly chants off a spell, and then abruptly extends a hand forward at Sarah. Suddenly the Tallus starts to move on its own. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	That's a new one. So far, nothing she's encountered has been able to do anything to the Tallus - so needless to say, it catches her off guard. Sarah is quickly working at resisting the movement, and otherwise focusing on defense. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
