Death and Destruction
It was a small planet orbiting a gas giant in Shi'ar controlled space. The small chunk of rock didn't have any remarkable features on it and it held no resources to be utilized. It was rather insignificant as planets went, but it had been the site of a significant battle in the fate of the universe.

Dead bodies littered the ground and a silver surf board was stuck point down in the ground. Smoke billowed from wrecked space craft and blood, human and alien alike, seeped into the fine dirt covering the surface of the planet. It seemed unfitting for this barren place to be the final resting place of some of the finest heroes in the universe.

There was a flash of light.

"Thanos will have allies if he thinks we are going to move against him," Moondragon said. "Gods of the dead and any others who would be interested in death on a very large scale. Thanos will promise them billions if not trillions of recently dead souls."

She paused a moment to let the facts sink in.

"We need to recover the gems. The Surfer managed to spread them across the universe before he died. It is imperative that we find them before Thanos and his allies."

"Six gems, six of us, and lots of ships out there. So in some fashion, we need to figure out who we can trust to work with us. Anyone feel like they're best off working with someone, or do we split up entirely and try and help with all six? Also... if we have some clues where the gems are, where are we headed? We can maybe volunteer for a couple of these if we know our options."

Adam looked one more time at the freeze frame image of the Gauntlet disappearing and scattering the gems. While it was certain that each recovery team needed an Exile for a critical role, the role could mean death while serving the higher purpose.

"The location of the gems are known. You may decide who will assist in retrieving each one. I will recover the Soul Gem. Lilandra will pursue The Power Gem. Choose who will recover the Mind Gem, the Reality Gem, the Space Gem and the Time Gem. Select your transportation with care."
