It was really called Skuttlebutt?

Kev boarded the Korbinite ship -- Korbinites? Not something he knew about -- and wondered what on Earth he was going to be able to do.

They were going to be looking for someone called the Grandmaster. Not a Family Story. So he wasn't really sure.

Kev keeps walking at around the corners, not yet ready to get right in the faces of the Mindless ones blowing through the walls, studying what their destruction reveals about the layout that's been cut into...

There's a sound in the distance, almost in response to the blasting.

"....Great," he tells Bill quietly. "We're not alone with them, either. We've got our Very Own Crazy Alien Minotaur or something."

	The mindless ones kept bashing through the walls. Occasionally the floor would open underneath them and some fell into the pit. Others continued on their quest to get through the walls. In another part of the maze a loud roar echoed through the maze. What is a maze without a minotaur. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

The last thing Kev wants to do is be stuck following the Mindless Ones at a safe distance through the whole thing. That was no way to win.

He keeps looking at the cut-away view the blasts give of the walls and passages. Between a childhood spent with a whole lot of puzzle books and studying low-dimensional topology, he's got a lot of impulses for extrapolating patterns in the twists and turns, and they're running on all cylinders right now. The ideas may help him get more efficiently through the maze eventually, but for now, there are a lot more monsters to deal with around here than he'd like...

"Bill," he says quietly, "When we meet the thing that's making that noise, I want the Mindless Ones to be in the thick of it. They're going to attack us if we go right up to them, right?"

	"They will," Bill agreed. "They know naught but mindless aggression." It had been said even the dread Dormamu could not defeat the Mindless Ones, only contain them. 	The minotaur and the mindless ones met in the middle and the sounds of battle quickly filled the air. The minotaur tried to chop and slash the mindless ones and they in return hit the minotaur with lasers from their red eyes. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Bill spun his hammer a few times to build up power, then let it fly, grabbing on to the unbreakable thong. In an instant, he and Kev were propelled through the air, flying through the maze at incredible speeds only one with the power of a god could navigate. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Kev winces and hisses slightly and holds onto Bill tighter as the peripheral effects of one of the lasers come close enough to singe his back slightly. That was going to hurt for a while.

But they'd pulled ahead, and gotten some of the Mindless Ones off the job. That was the important thing. He tries to keep his eyes open and observe everything they can see flashing by. Still processing.

He would have said it was a shame he couldn't turn walls into bees anymore, if he wasn't incapable of actual wanting his powers back.

	And as they appear to be getting near to the center indeed, both by what little Kev can figure of positioning and by the intensity of their viewer's attentions, Kev notices as they trigger something Bill immediately flies over before it can affect them.
