Sarah and Dani vs Ms. Marvel and Screaming Mimi
The test match was over and Sarah and Dani were scheduled for their next fight. Tonight they were going to face Ms. Marvel and Screaming Mimi. Winning that match was necessary to get a shot at Grimm and Parker.

They had a few hours of downtime which had been spent in posh dressing rooms.

Then it was time for the match.

Natasha led them out to the ring amidst boos and jeers. Natasha yelled at the crowd in Russian as they walked to the ring.

We had some cases brought into a few local Lenore St. Croix Centers, blokes freaking out with 'mutant' powers who didn't turn out to be mutants, just drug addicts who'd been shot up with..somebody else's extracted blood and bile, for goodness' sake. It's not good for anybody, victim or user. Well, I guess it was 'good' for the dealers."

Dane had been silent while Kevin was explaining, but chose now to spoke up.

"One of the Power Tools, Vice, said that the guys who can afford it and want to stay on top pay someone named Malus to set them up with the treatments. The guys on the mid and bottom card don't get it, but it's pretty safe to assume that the top-tier guys get it.

And I think a few of them have side jobs that have nothing to do with wrestling. They're looking into offering me one, if I keep doing well." Dane says.

"Lovely... sounds like the UCWF is not only covering for Malus, but helping transport their medical lab and thugs. I've also done a little digging... Spider-Man here has always been a wrestler, he was never a super hero. And the Fantastic Four broke up after Johnny Storm died. He and Spider-Man worked together a lot, from the stories Johnny told us, so they're probably related events. Also, if a lot of the top talent is dirty, then Malus probably has a lot of bodyguards... we're going to have to be careful. Especially since Dani and I can't help much with the drug ring side of things. They'll be keeping an eye on us."

"...I bet that's why you're supposed to win," Kev says, finally. "I mean, what's the point in 'going for the gold' in and of itself? Not a lot of good in being wrestling champions unless it does something else. If Spider-Man was just so good at wrestling here that he never went into superheroing, and people died because of it, then maybe he needs a nice solid thrashing to make him rethink his options. Nothing like disaster by the standards you've got to make you think of new standards, aye? And then we'd have another proper superhero about to do something about all this drug business."

Kev discusses all this while still fretting over his samples.
