I Still Want to RP Bingo
So we had this idea in another game awhile back and it helped when things were slow to give us something to fall back on and generate ideas or play.

It's called RP Bingo.

Essentially everyone who wanted would get a card with 25 squares (24 prompts and one wildcard in the middle which could be pretty much anything). You just try to do five in a row and make a bingo out of your card; one thread or log per square. The prompts could be interpreted fairly liberally, this is just an idea to get us interested in Graves Hall again and playing like we used to.

So. Comment with ideas for prompts to fill in the squares. (If you're curious, the list for the other game). The prompts can be anything from the mundane to the ridiculous, so long as they inspire creativity!

Just reposting this so it shows up on the top.

Next Plotchat and Ideas
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

So, so, so.

I'd like to aim for Saturday, May 16th late morning, early afternoon EST (which sort of accommodates everyone) for our next plotchat. Let me know if this will be an issue; I'll try to remind everyone as we draw closer.

Things I'd like to discuss in this chat: summer plot lines, any big ideas you have for the game (summer or otherwise), and the potential for a murder mystery.

Some ideas that we've stormed for the murder mystery )

So please, continue to storm away and gather up some ideas for our next chat. I'm really looking forward to getting back into playing mode.

Just some stuff
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

I've been feeling a bit like an absentee mommy. Oh school. Anyhow...

1. I'd like to have a plotchat once the semester is done for everyone, so if you could let me know when the last day of your finals are I can figure out a date for a plotchat.

2. Speaking of the end of school... I'm trying to gear up for summer plots. I've been brainstorming some ideas, if anyone would be interested, maybe some overarching plots, or things that would effect the world so if you wanted to participate you could. I had this half assed idea about a murder mystery (because I've been watching Harper's Island), but I'm open to any ideas.

3. If you had some crazy legislation ideas, now would be the time to propose them. I'm thinking that our unnamed interim king isn't quite sure how to handle things and signs things into law because he or she would rather not argue about it.

4. As something of an addendum I've been debating the idea of an npc king (as opposed to a player character) and I think I've decided (with input from you guys) that it's a better idea. We all have access to the npc journal and could each have a hand in how the king is played and it won't rely on just one player (who may wish to leave the game or take an extended hiatus which would put the king out of play; I'd like to avoid that happening again).

So, I'd like to hash out some more ideas during our plotchat for the new king and we'll officially name the king in October (because that's usually when kings are named).

I think that was about it. If you have anything to add, please comment.

THINGS.
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]showtime)

TO EXPLAIN ..for anyone who noticed the weirdo reference. Not that I EXPECT reading. But in case anyone did and was WHAAAT? XD

me: What would Mordego be referred to as? THE BATFATHER?
Sass: HAHAHAHA
YES

So, now that's clarified.. I have a question! Would it be feasible for THE MOB ..or whatever we have here .. to have their own PRIVATE transport. Like their own carriage service. OOH. Could you have invisible transport (let's ignore the obvious dangers that would have for all the other road users.. okay maybe not. XD ) I had other questions, but they have been forgotten. And then I forgot to post this and went to watch late night TV (which here, tends to be US talk shows. YES, I WATCHED ELLEN.) Okay, bye.

EDIT: Okay, so clearly a bit weird last night. XD But I think the question I need to be asking.. is how does the whole carriage thing work. Do these carriages exist somewhere in time and space.. and are called kind of like taxis? But more immediate? Aaand.. if so.. would there be more private ones for, say, government use and such? (Okay, back to work. c.c)

Security?
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]showtime)

Hey,

I thought I'd post this question here to see everyone's thoughts. What sort of security do you think people would have on their houses, and the one I'm particularly interested in - the Salem Academy Dorms? XD (NOTHING SUSS.)

Two Things
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

1. I changed the tag sidebars from "list" to "cloud" out of curiosity (since cloud shows which tags are used the most by making them larger based on frequency). I was surprised by some of the most used tags and not as surprised by others (how did Morgan sneak in for the surprise win at Graves Hall?). I think I'm going to keep the "cloud" list, just because it's interesting and who knows, maybe the leaders will change (which I think would be super cool).

2, There's been some talk about a Graves Hall prequel among some of the players (who brought it to me and we bandied the idea about). I imagine it would be called Before the Graves. The central idea is the same setting, just a few years before the government and the Hall were established (about 300 or so years ago). It might be interesting to play, to explore Aylasia in a new way, to see what it was like before the LEOS, to play some of our characters grandparents (or parents for that matter). If we did want to play this it would work the same as Beyond. Only players of the original game could jump in (for what I think are obvious reasons), but it would be entirely opt in. You're not obligated to play if you're not interested. Also, the canon could easily diverge from what's been established in Graves (what happens there doesn't necessarily have to effect what's happening here).

If people seem interested in playing a prequel we'll cook up a community and a basic premise AFTER finals are finished (so it would be next weekend, which would give anyone interested plenty of time to cook up ideas).

We need to pick a new year, guys!

As a jumping off point, here's a link where Carol and I discussed years:

So next year could have something to do with finding what you're looking for.

The Year of....?

Little help? xD

The Holidays In Game
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

I genuinely don't remember if we had this conversation before, but because of the way the game is set up we don't have a Christmas. I think we didn't have to worry about it last year because GJ was in its death throes.

I think that we should have some sort of holiday festivities. I think we could have something similar to the 12 days of Christmas, starting on December 20 (the day before the solstice) and ending with New Year's celebrations. Every day could be a different feast or celebration (not that we'd have to play something on every day, but we'd have the option).

Do you girls (and guy) have any ideas for other feasts or celebrations we could have?

Edited:

December 20: Bon Festival. A day to say goodbye to the dearly deceased. This is a quiet celebration in which one cares for the spirits that have passed (either long ago or just this year).
December 21: Solstice Feast
December 22: Abe's Feast. A celebration for the first King.
December 23: Snow Day. The one day of the year when all elementals make the weather cold and snowy. Everyone has the day off. Snow forts, snow men, and snow fights abound.
December 24: Alm's Day. A day of charitable giving before the day of more personal gifts.
December 25: Yuletide (or Yule). A day to give gifts and spread joy.
December 26: Festivus. The yearly street masquerade. Every town celebrates; it's like a block party on every street. Sort of like Mardi Gras, but tamer (there are children invited, no naked time).
December 27: King's Feast. A feast hosted by the King for the needy, less privileged citizens of Aylasia. Traditionally held at the Palace.
December 28: Candlement. A day in which mages write down their wishes for the coming year on a slip of paper. They light a candle and burn their wish in the flame so that it is released into the realm of possibility.
December 29: Thanks Day. A day to share your thanks before the turning of the year.
December 30: Seer's Day. The seers gather to announce the naming of the new year.
December 31: New Year's Eve (or Twelfth Night). There will be celebrations at the Hotel Mosaique and other locations in New Meridian
