All of my characters aren't doing anything right now and I know that there are things that they are supposed to be doing... but they haven't happened. Aside from that, though, I just wanted to know/see if there was anything you guys want to play out...? THIS IS A DESPERATE PLEA because Joey is known for killing characters when he has nothing else to do with them (take note on icon used for this). =X
Hello! I'm sorry. I'm not burnt or dead. I was busy and then distracted. BUT. I need to get back into the swing of things, and was wondering what everyone's characters were doing for the New Year? I'd like to have Ajax somewhere where there's a party going on. XD He can provide some entertainment, too, of course! I'm not sure about Esther. I think she'd be happy to be out and watching some sort of display. If there's a big community thing going on or whatever. So, anyone got any plans already.. or any ideas to throw around?
Joey, I'm still going to make that post for whoever you wanted to run into Isabella. =) Sorry I didn't get to it yet, but I was reminded of stuff I had pending for her that's I'd forgotten. I don't want to post three threads in a row with her so maybe after someone else posts a new thread or two [and/o the ones she's in get a few replies, I'll throw up a post for you and let you know]. If you still want to that is.
That said, Carol, in case you missed it, I posted for Isabella and Gwen so we can finally get that taken care of. ;-) Sorry I spaced on that.
I was thinking that I should have Chai work on repealing the Shifter and Werewolf laws entirely. I think he'd actually do everything he could to make sure that groups of people stop getting tagged and segregated. Because at this point you know, why not vampires? Elementals? Immortals? Or just have everyone walk around with an ID bracelet that says who they are and what they can do. THIS IS A NEW ERA! THIS SHOULD NOT BE.
LOL
So anyway I was wondering if people - shifters and wolves - might be interested in trying to help get these laws repealed. Not sure how exactly as I haven't thought it out entirely, but we need to find another way to protect people from shifter magic that goes awry rather than treating them as if something's wrong with them. The same goes for the wolves.
What are your thoughts?
As it turns out I am not going to be able to be a part of the chat tonight - I have previous engagements - but I would like to be in the one on the 2nd or 3rd.
Anyway, here are some ideas I had that could possibly be discussed:
-Cat-and-mouse like chase threads with Elliot and Ajax. They could happen in public places so others could join in - it could be quite funny to write/read about.
-I was thinking about how some of us could get our vampire characters together and start some sort of vampire coven...? It just seems like there are quite a few of them but none really interact with each other much, I think it'd be interesting to do something with.
-The discovery of scions! I think this could do a lot for generating plot for those of us with scion characters. It could possibly lead to some craziness in New Meridian - maybe even lead to them having to be tagged (like shifters).
From now until the chat on the 2nd/3rd I will think of some more ideas, this is just some stuff I plucked from my brain.
Feel free to comment here if you have any ideas to bounce off of these. Or new ideas having to do with me/my characters.
I was thinking about a place we could take Oharu and Isabella vacationing to. I think we should have a southern (or northern) island that's dark 6 months of the year, so that they could go there and Isabella could be out and about any time of day. It could be like a well-known vacation spot for vamps and other types that prefer dark. Sort of like Alaska. I was thinking we could call it Casablancanoir, or something similarly "play on words."
Let me know what you think and we can start on that thread any time.
When we're next online together, can we talk about this Book of Daemonica plotline? I'm at a loss with what to do with some people here, so I'm grasping at straws [hence the whole Weaver thread that I honestly have no freakin' idea what I'm doing with it]. Anyway, yeah the Daemon that plot seems to have stalled and fizzled in favor of whatever the plot is now. I figure I can work on that while this other stuff's going on.
I just wanna talk to you first so I don't do anything wrong and so I can get some kind of guidance on this.
Re: my OOC post the other day mentioning the big plots we have going right now.
Your characters are in no way obligated to take part in a bigger storyline. I thought if you'd like to you could jump in and take part. Personal storylines are still how we typically play around here and they don't need to be passed by me.
Some of the bigger plot stuff however were things that I had personally invested in and conceived of; I wanted to make sure that all of the little details were straight, since I have a tendency to forget to write them all down (and sometimes when I don't write them out I wanted to make sure that assumptions weren't being made; clearly you know me, you know I will work around things to make it work).
My big thing with this community is that we all have an equal part. If you guys have great ideas I would like to see them played out, while respecting everyone's original ideas.
I'm not entirely sure this post was merited, but I just want to make sure we're all on the same page.
It occurred to me that Gideon and Chai should have some more interaction. I mean since Chai was crowned there's been nothing. And the fact that "little tart" Gideon used to get all his information from is in the king's public lover? There's STUFF there waiting to happen!!
Why this took me so long to think of, I dunno. >_>;
Hello fellow wolfies!
Is anyone up for some plotting? <3
Shell,
Elliot (finally) jumped in on the party thread. I didn't think it would be too late, so if you want to tag him back at some point we could have them talk about the last time they saw each other.
P.S. Whenever you want Isabella to talk with Agatha (if you still wanted to do that story line) is fine by me. I mean, I need a few days for Agatha to finish up a thread with Edvin, but once that's done she will be good to go.
I did not want to reveal the future plot for the Blanket Plague (so that everyone could get a nice surprise) but myself and Carol have decided against the initial thought. It is obvious that there are a lot of characters that were/ will be affected by the Blanket Plague, in general, so all of you deserve to know where this "plot device" is going. Although I would like to stress that my revealing this information will become player knowledge and not character knowledge.
As you may already know, Elliot is head of the B.P. case and is currently searching for the cause of the plague. Ironically enough, he himself is the cause of it. He and Emelie both, I should say.
The twins, Elliot and Emelie, were both born as fixities... fixity scions that is. Elliot, as a fixity, put his anti-magic abilities to good use by becoming a law enforcement official. In order to have any control over a mage abusing their magic, you obviously need to have someone that has the ability to counteract that magic. Unfortunately (and unknowingly) when Elliot casts an anti-magic spell against a mage it works just like any other anti-magic spell cast by a fixity... but with a devestating side-effect. The scion part of Elliot's anti-magic will then afterwords act as a virus (why it is referred to as a plague) slowly killing the mage's magic that it was used against. For example, if Elliot uses anti-magic to counteract a fire spell that mage's ability to produce fire spells will slowly deteriorate.
Even more unfortunate is that often Elliot's anti-magic is used even without him knowing. For example, let's say that someone within close proximity of Elliot is using a spell of some sort that might not be legal/ work correctly/ will produce an undesireable effect(s)/ etc. his anti-magic will counteract it and the mage will then experience the B.P. effects.
Also, a mage affected by the B.P. can unknowingly pass it on to other mages (thus why it is said to occur in pockets). For example, let's say the mage from before (the one effected by the B.P. on his fire spells) is within relative, close proximity to someone that is trying to conjure up a fire spell. The B.P., as said acts like a virus, will spread to that person and they in turn will then suffer the B.P. effects and can therefore then pass it on to someone else and them to someone else etc. Although, just as a side-note, if the B.P. has already claimed a magic ability entirely the B.P. will NOT spread to any other mage(s).
So, why do some mage's lose all of their magical abilities? Let me first just say that mage's losing all of their magical abilities is very, very rare. There are two ways for a mage to lose all of their magical abilities. First: Elliot, either willingly or unwillingly, simply casts anti-magic causing the mage to not be able to produce magic at all. To briefly explain why most of the mages that lose all of their magical abilities are criminals is because when Elliot tried to stop them from abusing their magic he had to cast numerous and stronger anti-magic spells against them and even had to resort to casting anti-magic spells on them preventing them to cast any magic at all (which is difficult to do, thus why he doesn't just do it in the first place). Second: The mage has caught so many forms of the B.P. that the plague has claimed all of their magic one at a time (i.e. because of the plague being able to spread from mage to mage). Both reasons, therefore, explain the rhyme and reason as to why different mages have had different (and thought to be random) reactions to the Blanket Plague.
So, where does Emelie fit into the big picture? Emelie is the one and only cure for the Blanket Plague. Emelie's scion magic, when within close proximity to an affected mage, will cause the decline of whatever magical ability effected to reverse or retreat. Although, it is important to know that she cannot reverse it if the the B.P. has claimed the magical ability(ies) completely (i.e. for her "cure" to work the mage still has to have some of that magic ability left).
Lastly: YES, ONLY MAGES ARE EFFECTED BY THE BLANKET PLAGUE. And just as a side-note if your character is half-mage the B.P. will only effect that person's mage abilities. For example, if your character is a mage/werewolf the B.P. will have no effect on the werewolf part of the character.
And just as a reminder, both Elliot and Emelie [currently] don't know that they cause/ un-cause the Blanket Plague which is why this information needs to remain strictly player knowledge only. Also, just for the sake of stating it: No, your mage cannot catch the B.P. by just touching Elliot (that is an AIDS joke waiting to happen).
*EDIT: The Blanket Plague does in fact effect other fixities. Though this is very, very rare and there has probably been very few cases (if any at all) which is due to the fact that there isn't many fixities in general.
Also, the offspring of two who have lost all magical abilities due to the Blanket Plague will have NO magic abilities. This is obviously because of magic being inherited. This has not been brought to the attention of the public yet because there has yet to be a child of two people that have lost their magic due to the B.P. Although it will be played upon very, very soon.
Please feel free to reply with any questions/ suggestions/ future plot ideas generated by this post to this post.
Ok. Last post.
Clearly, lots of stuff has been going on. We've been insanely active in the past 2 weeks since the move. I've read every single log/thread so far and I'm still having a hard time keeping up.
Something Shell and Ai introduced on
So please indulge at your leisure. Leave a little comment with anything you've been working on, links if you'd like to make me the proudest mama (even prouder than Tyra Banks).
There have been some minor changes/additions to the mod journal (on the archives):
I added a bit to Fortuna magic as well as elemental magic. I also added in all of the professors on the Salem Academy information.
I'm debating about re-posting some of the moderator journal to the new mod journal, simply because it's a little easier to update on-site than off-site.
I also just want to say that I'm really excited about the sudden explosion of plot and storylines that we seem to have right now. There are some really awesome (and conversely horrible) things on the horizon for our characters.
Bigger storylines that you could get involved in include the Blanket plague, the changes continuing at Salem Academy, and the Quest for the Book of Daemonica.
Well, it should be obvious that all of my characters are up for any kind of PLOTTING but I will still take the time to post an update (but mostly introducing some new characters) on my peoples and where they stand.
Agatha: Still an old bag (that much hasn't changed) and she still spends most of her time at home just outside of New Meridian. Her door is always open for visitors who might just want to chat, though usually those who visit her want more than just light conversation.
Draven: Still the same restless soul (figuratively speaking) looking for his place in Alyasia. His existence is still unknown, though he does spend a lot of time out and about (at night obviously) and playing shows with his band.
Aldrich: One of the known (and youngest) immortals, He teaches at the Salem Academy although everyday, if he isn't being gawked at for being one of the immortals, he is mistaken as a student due to his very young appearance. Aldrich is open for any plot with anyone but particularly teachers or students at SA.
Elliot & Emelie: Twin fixities and Aldrich's YOUNGER siblings both living in New Meridian. Elliot is an official/ law enforcer and is very absorbed in his job. Emelie, on the other hand, is currently just a pretty girl with nothing to do that just finished her schooling at Salem. Both are up for plot, although Emelie is the one with a lot more free time on her hands.
Deirdre: Quite the miserable little bitch, Deirdre is nothing but a groupie of (Draven's band) Without the Sun and known in the public eye as one of the few that lost their magical powers due to the Blanket Plague (that hasn't committed suicide). She's a wanderer and bumping into her is probably very common.
Haneul: Student at SA and open for ANY plotting with ANY other students. He is an elemental and has no known family.
HIT ME UP!!
Brilliant idea!
Can Chai and Elliot be friends/know each other? They're right around the same age and Chai was a law enforcement official before being crowned. =D!!
