I know it's long, please peruse at least.
Not sure if this wasn't clear before, but we can start playing over here as soon as your journals are made (and have joined the community). I set the community up for adult concepts, so you have to put a base age into your journal's info page (which you can hide from view) before I can add your journal.

RP Bingo is up. If you want to play just ask for a card.

In other news you might have noticed we have a new sister community. You can officially blame Becky for this one. It's called [info]meridian and is based in the future from Graves Hall on the other continent (aptly called Meridian). Take a perusal if you like at the meridian tag on the mod journal. We haven't started play yet, but I imagine it'll be up and running pretty soon.

In other news in the process of moving the mod journal over here I did some housecleaning. I modified a few definitions, but nothing that affects anyone's current characters. For the most part I tried to tidy up the mod journal, since it was getting a little messy.

I still need to go through and add, subtract a few characters (since I know one or two of you have added one and dropped a few down to npc level). Just drop me a comment or an email and I'll make those changes as soon as you have the character information posted in your journals.

Last thing to note: the npc journals have the same password as before (as well as [info]gravenews which is for everyone's use), but I don't feel comfortable posting them in the journal. If you need it im me and I'll give it you.

New content
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

Over the next few days I want to work on some parts of the mod journal that still look like crap (ie: the familiars pages. I hated them. I redid them).

I also added 3 new npcs. A parliament official. A lady LEO. And a prophet who's sick of seeing the future. Anyone can play them. I just felt semi-inspired and this is preventing me from making any more actual characters (when goodness knows I should just play the ones I have).

I also added some new content to the mod journal regarding societies within Aylasian Culture. And a tiny little post about all the silly acronyms that have been invented in our game.

Have a happy afternoon!

Two Little Things
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

1. I redid the layout/format of the character listing. Wanted to make it prettier, more accessible. In the process I realized I had missed one or two characters. Please do me a big favor and check over your section to make sure all of your characters are properly listed.

2. I redid the mod journal layout, mostly because the gray was just not working for me. This has no effect on anything. Except your eyeballs if you chose to look at it.

I made some changes to the modjournal.

The only information that has changed is the werewolves post. Becky edited it to reflect the current view of werewolves in game.

The rest of the changes are strictly visual. The mod journal has had the tendency to look like a clusterfuck of information. I'm organizing and streamlining, just making it look nice. So far I've tackled people, magic, miscellany, and places. I'd like to work on some other areas as well, but I think I'm tapped out for tonight.

Let me know what you think!

ETA: there are some issues with the way the new pages look in Internet Explorer. I forget that she is an unforgiving bitch of a browser (which is why I don't use it anymore). The pages are best viewed in Firefox currently, but I can fix the issue appearing in Explorer (I'm going to do it at home, later, as there's a bit of copy, paste, replacement involved and I don't feel like doing that on the school computer).

Re: ETA: the problem is mostly fixed. It's still not perfect (mostly that the text is centered instead of justified and I can't figure out where the problem is), but it looks fine in either Netscape or Firefox browsers.

Hey all!
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

Plotchats went well (transcripts are up in the flocked post).

I updated the contact info. For some players email is an easier way to get a hold of them (instead of aim). If you don't mind me posting your email (and if it is a better way to get a hold of you) please comment with an email you'd like me to list. I'll screen comments since this won't be flocked.

I really want to make Aylasian Fight Club. I'll work up some details (with Becky's help, cause she's actually done a seeding chart). Mostly it would just be a fun time OOC game to play.

I think that was about all I had to say. It's awesome to see you girls (and guy) up for plotting and playing!

New Content
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

I went through the modjournal yesterday and made some updates (for the most part just linking old information to appropriate sections).

I added in shape-shift(ers, ing) to people and magic.

I also updated the places post to reflect the new map. I divided it up a little differently so that now the islands have their own section. There are several new locations that haven't been fully explored (mostly just named and brainstormed by our map making mistress). And Sass made the first of the area maps: New Meridian.

I'm also thinking about adding in links to the specific area maps on the places post, as well as a link to the tags for all the threads/logs that take place in a specific location. I just think it would be cool to be able to navigate to all these things from that post.

As an aside, I think a majority of the game will be taking minor or semi-hiatuses these next few weeks because of school. I'm also on this list because of school. I'm trying to get as ahead as humanly possible in school work so I might have some time to play on the weekends. Otherwise I'll be moving very slowly. Again if I owe you tags, I'm sorry and I'll try to catch up.

Stuff and the things
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

I updated the rules post: the only change was the bit about playing your first character for a few posts before making a new one. The other bit was that I added a truncated rules at the top. I think the top rules are clear, but if there's confusion I can point to the longer winded clarification.

Don't forget! CHAT TONIGHT! 8pm EST at graveschat

On a personal note I'm sorry to anyone I owe tags to. I've been struggling fiercely valiantly pathetically with nanowrimo. That will be finished on Sunday whether or not I cross the finish line, but then it's back to school work. By mid-December (after school is out) I'll be back into the swing of playing.

Hey gang
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

Put up an entry about technological advances in the mod journal. I think it's a fun read, though I've been wrong before.

I also removed the "narrative" tag from the community, because it's not getting much use and it's not a very useful tag (re: we're not tagging logs with "logs" and threads with "threads." It's just kind of silly).

How is everyone doing lately?

Little Stuff
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

I added Little Spot and Sparrow Island to the places page. Little Spot was overdue in being added. Sparrow Island was brought up today in a log with Ham and Sam; there will be another with them actually on the island.

I also added the pictures to the Omnibus definition, though they're the same exact pictures in the party thread with Ohana and Oharu.

And I'm a liar...
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

I went buckwild and re-did the contacts page. It looks way sharp now. If you'd like to have an icon to represent yourself (you don't have to use your face if you don't want to), leave one in a comment here or visit me on aim, since I'm likely to be around for awhile today (HUGE CUP OF COFFEE).

I won't promise that this will be my last post like I did last time, because apparently I'm on some kind of a roll.

Update
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

I'm moving some stuff around in the mod journal, mostly just trying to tighten it up a bit. Nothing is being deleted or changed, just shifted around.

All of the weaving posts have been combined down into one.

Spellbound secrets and ritual magic have moved to here. I've been puzzling out a few things about spellbound secrets that I will add shortly (mostly about how they can be broken and what types of magic override them).

I finally updated the familiars page, as well as adding some NPCs to the character listing.

I think this about it for today.

Hey gang
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

I made some minor changes to the mod journal this morning.

-One little bit changed on the magic page (just a clarification about fortuna magic)
-Added an "add all" page, though this is really only for new players (sorry, I should have done this before now. I owe you all ice cream)
-Updated the character page (since Elle has a new baby)

I also got in touch with some potential new players who are slowly but surely plugging away on apps.

Just so you're aware, I've been sporadically backing up the community and mod journal with LJ Archive. I have the files saved on my computer, so in the event of some catastrophe with this site (knocking loudly on wood) it's backed up somewhere and won't be lost.

Now I'm going back to watching paternity testing on Maury Povich (mom's on vacation; I have no control of the tv. That's my excuse, I'm sticking with it).

Edit: Mom left, I turned Maury off.

I also added Merrow to the people and magic pages. I'm playing one in the Beyond game and I thought I'd add the definitions in case someone wanted to play one in this game. They're kind of like mermaids and I tweaked the definition to suit the game.

I also added definitions under Elven for both pages, since Joey worked out what elves actually do.

Just a Few Things
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

We decided to add a new feature to the community: The New Meridian News. It's the local newspaper. Most anyone can write an article for it. Evie Wilheard has claimed the gossip column. It will be used time to time as a way to relay things that have happened in the game.

I used this generator to create the image for the article I used. If you do so, please post a plain text version underneath.

I made two icons for use with the newspaper if you'd like:

I added a few new places.

Plus we got a new player.

Tell me how awesome I am. Then tell Ai she's awesome (because she helped). And Shell (cause she helped hornswaggle it).

I'm spent.

DONE!
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

I finished reposting the mod journal.

Of note: I added this picture of the cottages at Salem Academy. Sass found it and it's amazing. I also updated the list of scholars since that's changed drastically.

I alphabetized the old mass lists of people, places, and magic just to make it easier to navigate. I also updated all of the links, so everything should link to stuff on Inksome (unless it's an old thread, in which case the link should go to the archive). If you notice any dead links or links that don't go where they should please let me know (since I'm usually half awake when I'm moving all of this stuff around).

I think that's about it and I'm glad that's done. YAY!

Edit: I added Faerie Magic as its own post, but it's not finished. If you have a faerie character please sign off on it with your two pennies.

Also: I'm changing around the Current Characters list because I hate the way it looks and the functionality of the thing. Weigh in on whether or not you like it or what else you'd like to see change.

Now I am officially done modding for the day.

Just a note
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

As I've been reposting the bulk of the old mod journal I've made minor changes (all things that we've discussed and know, or have discovered in the course of the game). Nothing huge, mostly just filling in some of the blanks.

I'm not going to lie, this has been an excellent refresher course for me.

Edit: one thing Becky mentioned the other day. I forgot to mention about faerie names (since I thought it was known faerie lore); I added that to the faerie post.

I also added a bit in miscellany that mentions that there are no dragons in Aylasia (though there are myths and legends about them, which would explain Chai's grandmother's nickname). This was added a while back when someone asked for a dragon familiar (forgive me for the *eye roll*). For some strange reason I don't think "crazy" mythical creatures still exist in Aylasia though they might have once upon a time. So please, don't go asking for unicorn familiars. It's extremely unlikely that a unicorn would even agree to be a familiar in the first place.

One more edit: and I swear to the giggling baby jesus that I'm done for today. I added a list of quick tags to the info page of each community and the mod journal. I don't know that anyone will use them, but I wanted to have them somewhere.

Minor annoucement
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

There have been some minor changes/additions to the mod journal (on the archives):
I added a bit to Fortuna magic as well as elemental magic. I also added in all of the professors on the Salem Academy information.

I'm debating about re-posting some of the moderator journal to the new mod journal, simply because it's a little easier to update on-site than off-site.

I also just want to say that I'm really excited about the sudden explosion of plot and storylines that we seem to have right now. There are some really awesome (and conversely horrible) things on the horizon for our characters.

Bigger storylines that you could get involved in include the Blanket plague, the changes continuing at Salem Academy, and the Quest for the Book of Daemonica.

It's Mostly Because I'm Awesome Though
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]gravesmod)

Just in case y'all wanted to check it out:

I went through the archives (and updated the mirror) so that all of the logs/threads have descriptions of what happened in them. That way you don't have to read through the whole thing.

I'm in a hyper-organizational mood lately.

I also put some ads up on advertising communities AND Joey and I pimped the game to some friends who might hop on board this week.
