I think we should make separate honorcups. One for the anime people and one for everyone else. Not saying anything negative about them, but it's kind of annoying to see a hundred huge goggly eyes staring at you every week.

But what would be the point of that? Don't be grumpy because the people who make anime based honours wish to honour each other more than the people who don't :/

Like [info]roark said, why don't the non anime peoples make some more honours then? The world is segregated enough nowadays, don't segregate us even more :/

That's the thing. They honor each other. The same group of about ten people honor each other, praisebook each other, with the same googly eyed pictures and saying the same mundane things.

I understand wanting to make your friends feel good, and wanting to show appreciation. But there has to be some other way to do it, because seeing the same things every single week gets really, really absurd.

Because I think you may have missed the point somewhat.

Though obviously, you're free to set up your own honourcup version. But this one is doing just fine right now. There was just some drama on here about this very thing, and if it's not the place for you, just find somewhere else- because things will just get re-hashed and that's always very pointless, right? You don't have to stay here if you don't want to.

Hunnie, this community wasnt about creativity. It's not about being unique(though honestly, anime pics are more unique than myspace looking emo pics. Girls should stop trying to act like pro models on myspace. It just dont work and I've seen several of these girls on getoffofmyspace on LJ). This community is about honoring those we CARE for.

Again, dont like it? LEAVE. It's that simple.

I think creativity is a good thing. That's why I did the comic page. Things can be redundant, but I suppose if you are lettingsomeone know you love them, how it's crafted is mute.

Though, in LJ or IJ I saw this one honour that was impressive. looked like a photo montage of a heart for someone. and the pictures were them, as friends.

So I should turn away from an entire community because some people need constant validation and feel the need to post the same exact things over and over again? No, honey, that's pretty illogical.

I do understand that it wouldn't be posted on time. As for that, I think the "we need at least this many to post" rule is silly anyway. Maybe no one's done anything awesome that week? I'd rather see three honors that actually mean something than forty that say the same thing that last week's did.

I wasn't trying to start any drama. It was an opinion, as I've stated below. I'm entitled to it, as are you.

Well you started drama. Congradulations. I'm entitled to tell you that opening your mouth and voicing your opinion isnt always a good idea cause it gets you into trouble. Not saying it to be mean, saying it cause I've experienced it and watched other peoples downfalls because of it. Sometimes its best to zip the mouth and just accept the way things are.

Honestly. It's a positive community. There's no need to go on and on about it. I've spoken my piece, I've justified and explained it, and that should be that.

I much more enjoy seeing posts containing people (actual people, tho! not cartoons!) who have done something significantly awesome or have displayed amazing friend behavior. Some of these are so silly.

If it were full of 40 honors that all said, "You're so pretty, you're so funny, you're great!" I'd say that was a bit redundant, too.

I don't know why it's such a big deal. If your friends are so OMGCOOLAWESOMEYAY then it shouldn't be difficult to post an honor with actual substance. And then not post the same exact thing seven days later.

Either way, as I've stated above, this isn't a negative community. Any and all replies from now on will be ignored unless they're conversational vs. malicious.

Do you not even see the oxymoron of that idea?
There is no such thing as anime people, we are fans of it but we not anime folks.

Just because people like something you may not enjoy, does not mean they should be valued less or be segregated from others because of what they like.

If we are going to follow your logic, than that is like saying 'people who like rap music' shouldn't be a music oriented community because some folks like 'country music' instead...

Maybe I am assuming if you like anime or not, but you don't seem to happy with the anime honors.

Though, I wonder why its so important to use someone's picture in a honor to you; not everyone is comfortable with pictures being used on the internet.

Just take upon yourself to make more *normal* honors then.

Opinions are opinions and I don't mind anime honors or picture honors.

I understand that. It isn't just "real life picture or anime picture", though. It's not even the pictures that bother me so much as the fact that they're all for the same people, never saying anything new. If someone is great enough to be honored every single week, you'd think it'd be easy to come up with a brand new reason every time, right? Instead of just, "You're such a great friend, thanks for being awesome!"

I'd rather save my honors for when I feel they're deserved and necessary instead of just posting them in bulk every week. I was under the impression that honors were supposed to make people feel good, and acknowledge that they're doing something right. I know I wouldn't feel any more special if I got honored every single week with it saying the same things over and over. I'd feel like there was nothing else good about me besides that one thing. It'd get annoying.
