Meddling Mothers
Sersi returned home from an extended trip abroad. Humans were so entertaining and so full of passion. Eternals were a different story. Frustrating was the word that came to mind. Specifically one Eternal who happened to be her daughter.

Sersi didn't get it. The girl was crazy about the mortal and Jack was such a dear boy. He'd do any mother proud and was just the type of guy any mother would want dating her daughter. So why hadn't the girl moved in with him already? What was she waiting for?

Mortals had such short lives and there was no point wasting time waiting around for things. The kid should have just moved in with him already. School was finished and there was nothing keeping Kalypso home. It was time for Sersi to take matters into her own hands and resolve the situation.

Movers were easy to hire and in no time her daughter's things were moved over to Jack's place. This was done while they weren't around of course. Sersi didn't want to have to deal with the arguments that would have happened. It was much easier this way.

At the moment Sersi was feeling quite pleased and satisfied with herself.

Jack chuckled as he went through the little forest of boxes clustered in the front room. A lot of stuff? By his guy standard, oh yes. "If I open the bedroom door, will your furniture be in there?"

"Shouldn't be. She amazingly left my bed here. Probably figured yours was nice and big enough." Now she pulled on her jeans.

"Okay, now I'm disturbed she came in here to stare at the bed and consider whether or not it was big enough." He put his bag down on the kitchen bar and got a cold drink from the fridge. "I hear you covering up all that skin."

"My mother can be quite disturbing," she said as she pulled on her blouse. "You are welcome to uncover it when I get there."

"I like that sound even more."

He paused.

"I'm going to invite Eliza out for dinner in a couple of days. I'd like you to meet her."

"I'd like that," she said as she buttoned up her blouse. "Mind if I invite my cousin Iason? It might put less pressure on Eliza."

"That would be great. You think he might be free, and not mind that this'll look like a fix up?"

"I don't think he'll mind at all. He wants to meet new people and try different things." Kal sat on her bed and pulled her shoes on.

"Got the new people thing covered, then." Listening to her dress was oddly erotic. "The movie night went well. We're apparently allowed to do anything up to and including maiming, but we're not allowed to damage the city."

Kal chuckled. "I'm glad to hear that. Sounds like an interesting family. Not damaging the city is good."

She looked at her watch. "I'll be there in about five minutes if that's okay with you." To hell with walking or taking public transportation when you can fly.

"Five minutes and counting. Can't wait to see you."

"Ditto." She disconnected the call and slipped out of her bedroom window. It was best she didn't see her mother at the moment or she would be seeing how much it would take to kill an Eternal.
